Holding Out For A Hero: An Original Superhero Quest

Maybe dead from moving is better than definitely dead from water flooding.
[X] move the man

[x] You feel bad about leaving that man to die, but you need to think about yourself. You start running for the exit.

Looks like we have an option in the lead. But I'd like to address one vote.

[X] Take the risk and try to get the man out of the equipment and out of this bunker.
-[X] If its faster just break part of the equipment and take the attached part with him.

If you choose to do this, you will get a bonus to the roll you need to get the man out of his bed since you aren't doing it as carefully. However, there will be a penalty to his Constitution roll that he needs to not die.

Alright,

First, I'm going to need an IQ roll to know how to safely disconnect the equipment and a Dexterity roll to do so.

Failing either of these roll won't necessarily kill the man, but a better roll will improve his chances and worse rolls will decrease his chances.

Well, hoping that is lowish enough.
The Dex roll was high enough to pass but it wasn't anything special, but the IQ roll was enough to give the guy a 10 point boost to his Constitution since Sonya knows about as much as anyone could know without the proper training about safely disconnecting him.

Speaking of, not it's time to roll...

Edit: Wow, in most Quests, that the IQ and constitution rolls would be horrific. But apparently, it isn't this man's time yet.

Edit 2, wait, this is a 25 sided dice. I'm going to need to roll again

Edit 3: … Never mind.
Agent 99 threw 1 25-faced dice. Reason: Constutution Total: 12
12 12
Agent 99 threw 1 100-faced dice. Reason: Con (25+10) Total: 79
79 79

Could we times the 25 die by 4 to get 48? Semi-joking/Semi-serious.

She Blinded Me With Science Part 8
You take another look at the equipment that this man is hooked up to. Before, your brain had just looked at it as just a pile of indistinct machinery that just happened to be keeping this man alive. But as you look over it again, you start to make some sense of it. You know it isn't a substitute for actual medical training, but you're pretty sure that you can at least not kill him immediately by removing the equipment. You get to work, carefully removing the equipment. Taking out the IV, getting the tubes out of the man's mouth, removing the armband for the heartbeat monitor, which flatlines.

As you're working, you start talking to Jasmine. "Kells, the place is flooding. I'm... I'm pretty sure it's water from the river. Whole thing is gonna be underwater in a minute. I'm gonna try to get him out of here, but I'm going to need you-"

"Calling an ambulance now for that guy, Sunny" Jasmine says, practically reading your mind. "Just get out of there!" Just then, you hear a metallic snap coming from the door keeping the water at bay. You sling the man on your back and start running. You pass by the door, which snaps off completely by the time you pass by. Water is lapping against your heels by the time you make it to the stairs, but you don't stop.

You practically leap out of the staircase, and your momentum almost slams you into the wall opposite of the staircase. But you keep running and see the two women you knocked out earlier down the hall. They're both still out cold. You could probably carry them as well, but then, you'd have to stop to pick them up. And while you're strong enough to carry all 3 people, 4 if you count the guy further ahead, and you don't have enough arms to carry them.

[] Save them
- [] Drowning is a horrible way to die. Drowning in shit water is even worse.
- [] Eh, why not?
- [] They're horrible people, but they deserve a trial.
- [] Saving lives is the right thing to do, even if it's a couple of hired guns.

[] Let them drown.
- [] They choose to be here
- [] There's no way I'm stopping for someone who tried to kill me.
- [] If I tried to help them, then we could all end up drowning.
[] Get the civilian to safety first, then I'll see about those two.

I don't mind why we save them IC, but I do want to save them both because it is a the pragmatic thing and because not leaving the criminals to die could be good for our rep as a vigilante.

Could we even carry three people at once? I'd say we get the dying man to safety, then run back and grab the mooks.

Another idea would be to just grab one - so you have one over each shoulder - and then come back for the other two. It'd be the most efficient way to go about this.

- [x] Eh, why not?

Aren't we on the surface level already?

The water can't go higher than the river, and if I remember right, the compound (and the entire neighbourhood) is above water level. The basement can get flooded, but that's it.

This guy is in critical condition. I'm not sure he can survive the jostling that carrying four people out at once would take.

can we shape our barriers.

Looks like we have a vote to save them vs. waiting to get the prisoner out first 3-2 with a 3 way tie for reasons. I'm keeping the vote open for one more day just in case anyone wants to change their vote.

Innocents first THEN the criminal. We won't risk innocents for criminals

If it's morally acceptable to kill them (which, on account of their being criminals who would wield deadly force, it would be), it's morally acceptable to delay their rescue.
