New Good Seed and Omake Rule Updates
Good Seed and Omake Spreadsheet Rules:

Firstly, if you have questions about Good Seeds and the like please read here. If that doesn't answer your question please ping me in thread, or on Discord.

If you write a new Good Seed, or write an omake, please update the spreadsheet if you have access.

If you do not have access, please ping a collaborator (Swordomatic, Alectai, Quest, TehChron, Insane-Not-Crazy, Humbaba, ReaderOfFate, Kaboomatic, no., BungieONI) letting them know what you want and they will update the spreadsheet here. To gain access, you will need a gmail account of some kind. Throwaway emails are fine (I'm using one for the spreadsheet), but to gain access it's as simple as sending me either your email via PM, via DM in Discord, or just in Discord's #spreadsheet-requests channel.

This is mandatory. If a Good Seed does not record their omake by pinging collabs (or just requesting access and editing things themselves - this is the preferred option), I won't give out awards. If a new Good Seed is not recorded here, they won't advance. By doing this it makes the whole thing manageable for me - it's gotten pretty unwieldy!

Omake Writer Instructions:

There are four fields you need to fill out.

Omake Link, which is just a link to your first omake for the turn. This makes it easier for me to read them as I do the update - without this it's tough to know off the bat which omake were written this turn, and to properly

Requested Bonus, which is your requested bonus for your omake. You can leave it up to me if you like. You can see more info in the Good Seed infopost here.

Cultivation Aims. For those following unorthodox paths - higher than 9th Heavenstage or later than 7th Dao Pillar paths. Please put in what you are aiming for before you break through. I have left it as 'default'. If you do not edit it, I'll go with that.

Turn Notes - Do you want to do something specific? Enter a Secret Realm? Help the Clan out in some way? If you have something specific you want to accomplish on this turn, put it in turn notes so I can adjust your Fate around it.

All other fields are for QM use to record character information to properly run the flow of the game.

What would happen to all the poison artists in the clan? Mindra is basically made of poison she can't switch paths now. Is she exiled?

No. It wouldn't impact Good Seeds adversely in a banishment sense or a gameplay one, though they'd be constrained in-character as to what they could do and would slowly be more and more constrained over the years. This isn't something I actually expect the quest to take, but it is one of the plans Strength Purity have going on so they're going to suggest it. Normally they wouldn't without the peculiar ripples in Fate that have happened as the result of one million omake words written due to Heaven's Shadow awakening a little.

Opens a second - second what?

Second post for more in-depth negotiations, sorry.

Weakening the curse means, well... Better economy.

Buffing Manuel buffs our strategic nuke, and other narrative benefits.

Trials buff the clan.

Tribulations directly buff good seeds. It increases the speed of everything. We get good seeds up much faster.

Keep in mind that joining the Righteous doesn't get rid of the trials and the other r sects aren't going to help us with them well still asking us to help them on the great battlefield.

Weakening the Wealth Curse sounds like a solid move to me, tbh. We have a 3 Shiny Mine, after all, so it being suppressed less would mean we should get a pretty hefty increase to our income.

Income directly correlates to the actions that we're able to take, so it'll allow us to scale faster.

That means more higher level people, but also more demand for Wealth to support them. A titanic task due to the wealth curse.

Really, most of the boons seemingly all have their unintended downsides.

Wealth curse removal doesn't help our current cursed land (might make recovery actually possible though).

Strenthening Konstantinos is a dangerous gambit since the Trials will still ensure we be faced against stronger enemies no matter what level we reach (since we won't have supporting equipment of sufficient level).

Weaker Trials is a long term thing. Won't help us recover from the risks we already took.

Weaker Tribulation, as stated above means our demand for Wealth increases in relation to the growth in strength. Which is a difficult thing with that wealth curse.

And joining the Righteous Path means we forfeit the possible boons stated above.

It is hard to see how much more dangerous tribulations are hurting us. If we got rid of them would more good seeds be able to breakthrough 13th heaven stage?

Okay. Okay okay okay okay, everybody calm down for a moment. We can't bandwagon this without taking time to think on it.

I have a few observations:

1. Switching to the Righteous Path right now just isn't worth it. Seizing all of the cannibal land is amazing, but the reduction in tactics the clan is allowed to use is just unacceptable. We're still in a precarious position right now, we ABSOLUTELY cannot weaken ourselves further in the short term. We can't take another massive risk for long-term gain while we're still reeling from the first one.

2. This Shadow bonus should be spent on something that we cannot change without it. For example, using it to destroy the curse of poverty would be foolish, since we can weaken that over time simply by expanding. I would recommend either strengthening Manuel, making the Trials less difficult or weakening the tribulations.

I will make my vote after I've had some more time to think on this.

And we were talking about using it as a bomb!?

A permanent Debuff to the trials is the sort of thing we can't get anywhere else. If we decide not to go Righteous I would favour that option over the (admittedly) tempting blows to our wealth curse.

Yes, but well... Good seeds! Higher impact good seeds! I'm voting for that, since it buffs Good Seeds, which makes it the coolest option.

Old Jingshen spoke.

"Alright. We know why we're here. Old Cannibal, you're getting the shit kicked out of you by Konstantinos. Normally I'd join forces with him to kill you, but his interests threaten mine more than yours do, so we need to come to terms. I presume we all have proposals, so let's start there."
I expected way more bullshit than this, wow. Goes to show how when you get really, really old, there's just no more fucks left to give.

You know, thinking about it, since the Wealth Curse is a reflavored version of the Thin Qi downside for the Organ Meat Desert's primary cultivation resource, it's possible that weakening it will give our Clan a global cultivation speed boost in addition to more money. That could be neat.

But for the most part, the bread and butter of our strength are... formations.

We can afford this.

Weakening either the trials or tribulations. I am thinking the trials. They are a huge weight on our back even when they aren't happening because everyone knows they are coming and takes advantage.

Removing the wealth curse is definitely very tempting, but it seems far from optimal since expanding will already weaken the curse. I am tentatively considering throwing my vote behind weakening the trials, but I could lean toward buffing Manuel or weakening tribulations depending on the arguments I see.

Edit: so with that in mind, I would recommend taking a conquest plan that gets us a high amount of land in order to make sure the wealth curse is weakened. I'm not keen on cooperating with Old Cannibal to kill Lady Jiao though; that would put us a single bad dice roll away from jeopardizing our relationship with SPS forever.

Less cultivators, really. The Clan breaks through more through a combination of expenditure of resources and bloodline power - it really can't let every Joe and Sally go try and break through without a solid effort behind them. And yes, it'd weaken tribulations for Good Seeds.

In other gameplay terms it's certainly worse than the wealth blessing, but it does offer personal bonuses for all the Good Seeds out there....

Wow this is an important decision.

[ ] Blind the Thief

The thief. Stealing, always stealing. The spirits, thieved away, the stones, hauled away. The veins bleeding in the wrong places, the air growing thin. Blind the thief. Let it not see. Let it act no more. Let the wealth flow.
This will block this Fate from triggering. QM just said it won't heal the lands we already have, just keep new lands from being affected. We know how to slowly beat this Fate.

Heaven's Impoverishment (Weakening) - If you should seize a new land it will find itself impoverished as fate itself conspires against your wealth. Each time the Clan seizes new lands or forces another power to pay tribute the curse must expend itself and is thereby weakened.

[ ] Step into the Light

The old man. So weak, so loyal. The last strand of a web connecting it to the world. So easily exhausted when seen. Strengthen. No more shall the light tire the man of shadows. He shall stand in combat as a peer to all who serve the burning horrid light.
I think this will clear Old Golds stamina? This one I'm iffy on how it works. We currently have no way to fix this Fate.

Weaknesses - Low stamina. Grasping opportunities to cultivate above your talent was a worthy endeavour, but in truth your body finds it hard to maintain the level of cultivation you have attained. You cannot fight in battle for as long as your peers. Penalty to Combat.
[ ] Cloak the Ways Between

Those who stepped between worlds, who walked the path of slaughter. It couldn't hide the world, but it could twist the space, make it harder to get to. More expensive, more difficult. Less of the worldwalkers shall come to burn out the servants of shadow. Protect them, hide them, cloak them. Weaken the butchers, snuff out their torches as they hunted in the dark.
This will not stop the Trials but will make them much easier for us, possibly important based on that Severing dude screwing with us last time. From how it's worded it sounds like it will mostly affect the lower leveled people trying to get over, but that's a guess. We currently have no way to fix this Fate.

Rite of Karmic Purification - Every 100 years Righteous forces from another Sea enter your lands, slaughtering your disciples to gain Heaven's bounty. You have just undergone such a trial.
[ ] Even Lightning comes from a Cloud

Heaven burns with righteous wrath as the invaders seek to seize strength, lightning from a clear sky. Now the lightning must come from clouds, and the clouds shall cloak them. As they seize power Heaven shall prove still their enemy, but less so. Let them rise up. Let them all rise, like clouds rising from the earth to shadow all things.
This will make it easier to get higher leveled clan members. Based on the wording of the Fate it seems it's 4x times harder for our people to progress. We currently have no way to fix this Fate.

Deadly Tribulation - The Heavens have not forgotten the trespass of your ancestors, and make sure to remind you that you will never be welcome in this realm any time one of your experts seeks to rise to power. It is said that Heavenly Tribulation is two parts killing intent to eight parts vital force. For your kin, it is the other way around.

It's not a reflavor. when we were going World Gen it was clearly said the Curse is added on top of the Thin Qi. That's why when we take new lands those lands lose power. If we were handed a hunk of land in the middle of the Rich Qi plains that land would get a lot weaker. not at weak as our land in the desert but weaker then the rest of the plains.

If we take Righteous, it's suboptimal to take trials, since we won't get kicked while we're down. SPS/etc will have our back.

If we don't, well... it's a lot more tempting.

I likely will vote for Good Seed regardless, since the idea of a halved tribulation difficulty or whatever for Our Prodigy of Gold interests me.
