Hiding From Unstable Spirits (Date a Live/Tsukihime)[SI](Spoilers)

First, TYPO's:
The man's eyes went from looking through the endless dark void to his laps > lap
the user of the Second Magic the "Kaleidoscope[ ] - unnecessary spacing".
Arcueid and Altrouge were the last True Ancestors alive
I would say that Altrouge is not truly a full blown True Ancestor but I think that would start another arguement lol.
And after what seemed like an eternity he finally found it, a hole in the fabric of reality too small it looked as if someone used a needle on it.
Then the old man's eyes widened in excitement as he watched Al as he...created a rip off Avalon on a school's rooftop.

Oh... if the Merlin he contacted has connection to Chaldea the implication would be interesting.

Also with Fou running around it would be downright interesting for the cute murder creature to run around DaL verse.

Granted Fou would decide when to flex their awesome powa's(if Fou is the one LB it will be a bit sad).

Thanks for pointing out the typos, took care of that.
Also, note that this Fou is from a Merlin that didn't kick him out of the Tower yet and Fou has had no contact with Altrouge.
Huh, wonder is Altrouge would flex on her 'little brother' that her human murder machine is bigger and better than his.

Zelrech jumping to a new cluster of servers. Considering the Second Magic lets Zel jump between the different simulations(timelines) Gaia is running on her hardware, is the Date-a-Live verse a Gaia Experiment, Alaya Experiment or OCP bullcrap, essentially meaning it's completly outside the Second Magic's purview?
Since Zel is limited into alternates(timelines) that exist, thus limiting how they differ since they all had to originate from the previous Time Lock, which makes the "sardine world" terrifying, since something would have to have turned everthing to sardines in the last X thousand years.

I completely expect Al to do something like TFS Vegeta's rage scream that broke reality, except that instead of screaming in rage it will be in fear. Probably scream [NIGERUNDAYO] while he's at it.

I think because we haven't seen Altrouge aside from a few mentions... (WHERE IS OUR TSUKIHIME REMAKE YOU MAGICAL MUSHROOM!!!)

*cough*

Sorry but aside from a certain awesome Harry Potter crossover fic which I wish would continue on which Altrouge is portraid, she still haven't been graced us with her canon presence so I can't really judge what way you want her character and mannerism is.

There's actually a logical explanation for Al's existence if you think about it.

Essentially, Zelretch ganks Crimson Moon with a dimensional refraction attack, possibly disintegration via beam-spam or similar.

This in turn leads to the potential for Crim's soul to, either whole or in fragments, be scattered upon the dimensional winds, as it were, and because of the nature of alternate dimensions, there are some dimensions from which said scattering actually did occur, leading to a crop of Crimson Moon reincarnations being born to walk the earth, clueless of the previous iteration of their existence.

Then some moron decides to incarnate a terminal of Gaia on a nearby iteration of Earth, and since Gaia and Alaya are multidimensional existences, some poor reincarnated schmuck who's inherited Crim's pact gets tagged in to deal with things due to being 'nearby' dimensionally speaking, with his soul yoinked from it's prior housing and incarnated anew as a spirit, retaking a Crim's form due to already having a 'blueprint' for it.

Poor schmuck-san, not knowing his prior incarnation's history of playing Russian roulette with dimensional energy shotguns, instead figures 'oh crap, isekai', and then, being right for all the wrong reasons, blames Zelretch.

As far as him knowing what Type-Moon as a franchise is? Basically, if everything is real somewhere, then it means by extension that everything is fictional somewhere else. Basically, Al got lucky, rolling a figurative 100 on the D100's loot table when his prior iterations soul reached it's destination, which is probably what placed him ahead of the curve when it came time to pick an iteration of Crim to babysit Gaia's new terminal.

That... makes a surprising amount of sense. Edit: It also opens up the possibility for more true ancestor SIs to be made. Or just stories with True ancestors popping up in various universes. Maybe Saga of Tanya the evil? Or RWBY? Or basically anywhere. I enjoy the powers True Ancestors have, and they feel really underused.
Edit#2: After that idea, I should probably now write a version of Youjo Senki where Tanya gets the powers of a True ancestor, because I have this sneaking suspicion it could be a fun ride.

Or if you're looking for something similar yet different, you could go with a vampire from Record of a Fallen Vampire, or even one of the other factions, or even better, have Crimson Moon be a descendant of said vampires, explaining how he became Type-Moon in the first place and giving him an extended species profile to draw from, with canon Nasuverse vampires being explained as being degraded compared to their progenitor.

I was actually thinking about plotting out a dxd crossover with that as the premises, skipping over the blatant perversion of canon for a more "warm, small share of happiness" feel when it comes to the SI's driving motivation. All you'd have to do to explain pre-existing vampires would be to have them from a previous diaspora, or have some of Crim's blood make the trip and infect someone to kick things off, and then BAM, our SI wakes up in a vampire inhabited world as a 'throw-back' with enough power to be a bloodline progenitor in his own right.

Yeah, you should write that. Though one issue with the idea crimson moon being a descendent of vampires from that series is that his powers are super heavily tied to the moon, which would need to be explained, since I don't think that form of vampire is as heavily tied to the moon. Also y'know, I have this feeling a youjo Senki true ancestor story would lead to a hellsing esque world, with nazi vampires and zombies fighting an organization made against them.

Going Out For a Walk, Finding a New Friend
A cold night breeze passed through and ruffled some of my hair that wasn't covered by my hat as I was standing on top of a tall building, and I gotta say, the view of the city here is simply marvelous.

A city built inside a large crater made by a Spirit, some would call it a stupid idea, but I? I can see the defiance of humanity before my eyes, as in the whole city stands here to mock the Spirits and show that humanity will always adapt and overcome whatever is in front of them.

Kinda inspiring honestly.

I didn't have time to appreciate this place at all the past two or so weeks, as first I had to make sure Kurumi doesn't go off the rails too much and Kotori gets sealed too. Now however I have a small break from all the madness till season two kicks in or my presence create unpredictable consequences.

So, with my to little birds flying around the city trying to find a red-dressed maniac and me getting used to my rather superhuman strength while looking out for said maniac.

And I totally didn't jump straight into the walls of a building while trying to get to the roof...I did it thrice and left a comically sized dent in them? No idea how all the heroes and villains are making this seem so easy...

Anyway!

Gotta find the girl and sell her some lie about her being 'demoted to a low priority target' or some crap like that, and hopefully, she buys into it after accepting a small peace offering.

Because I really don't need to deal with time paradoxes now.

Sighing, I step away from the edge of the roof and prepare for a running jump towards the next building that is just a bit smaller than the one I'm currently on. I take in a deep breath and put as much force in my legs as I can and then I leap off the edge as if shot from a sling.

The feeling of flying through the air is just amazing once I got over the fear of heights, and devised a landing strategy that made it so that I didn't end up with my butt hitting the floor each. Makes me wonder if I can somehow make myself fly, that would be so damn cool and also legitimatize my claim of being a Spirit a bit more.

The moment I landed though I felt something off as if there was something around that shouldn't exist. Looking around I became sure it wasn't coming from the roof I'm currently on, so I went to the edge and looked around.

I wish I hadn't.

There, around 50-70 meters in front of me I noticed a...moving optical glitch? It looked as if something was attempting to become invisible with a result that looked like a bunch of somewhat human shaped pixels.

"Phantom..." I whispered under my breath as I realized who it was in the distance.

W-What is Reine doing here?! Shouldn't she be hanging around Shido and Kotori now? Its been after all only a few hours since the adopted sibling's date, so what is she...

Then I saw her looking around and after a tense moment, she jumped onto the rooftop of the next building.

Ah, now I know.

You're looking for me, aren't you? I bet you can easily find Kurumi, but I who has his Presence Concealment on the whole time once he leaves his hotel room is a different thing entirely then the girl that has a hundred clones around the whole city.

"Tsk, you are a pain in the arse, you know that Reine?" I muttered to myself as I kept my sight on the flying spacial distortion that was jumping from roof to roof.

Now, if it came to blows I think there is a high chance of me being able to tear her to shreds, but I sincerely doubt that Mio would let me get away with that.

Still, I can't talk with Kurumi if Reine keeps snooping around looking for me to either interrogate me or stall long enough for Mio to nope me out of existence with her stupidly overpowered Angels.

Maybe...if I play it the right way I can make her believe that I am a Spirit, just one from a different timeline, dropping hints like 'I remember Shido having bigger breast and long hair'.

...

This is plan is so stupid it should have no right to work. An alternate timeline where everyone is genderbent...thats quite terrifying.

Though Shido would probably be a rather cute girl.

"Focus damn it." I slapped myself on the cheeks to regain composure.

Besides, the idea of trying to use my Mystic Eyes on Reine seems to be a reasonable plan compared to trying to lie to her like that. Wonder how much she could resist it though? So far both humans and Spirit seemed rather susceptible to that, so maybe a clone of Mio will fall to it too?

Questions for later.

Alright, time to make a decision that I might regret the moment it goes wrong, or maybe she will be so sleepy she won't bother?

My target is currently on the top of the third next building so the jumps take me only a few seconds to get to the rooftop where Phantom is currently standing.

I landed a safe distance behind her and observed her for a second, she seemed to...look around the city from the edge of the roof I guess? It's really hard to tell with those pixels covering her whole frame so I can't even see where she's currently looking at. I take a deep breath and...

"Sup." I said popping the 'p'.

To her credit, she didn't yelp in sudden surprise and only turned to face me so fast I thought her neck will break, so I at least knew I spooked her a bit. If I die now, I can confidently claim that I scared a goddess in whatever afterlife I get to.

"You..." She said with a calm and young voice trying not to show her surprise.

"Me," I answer with the most shit-eating grin on my face I can muster. "so, how are you doing sis?"

"...sis?" Questioned Phantom with what I assumed to be a tilt of the head, hard to say with all those pixels.

"Hmm? Well, were Spirits, right?" I said and began walking closer to her. "So, I think that kinda makes us family, of sorts."

I'm a nature spirit, you're a goddess born of the world's mana so id say were close enough. Not as close as you are with Shido and Tohka but its something.

"I...I see?" Phantom seemed a bit uncertain about how to respond to that.

"Now, dear sister, pray answer my little question," I do a cheerful spin on one leg and then point my finger at her. "what were you doing here five years ago with Kotori and Shido?"

"Oh? And why do you think I had something to do with it?" Phantom responded with smugness in her voice.

"Ah, you know, you just happened to be there when a little crybaby became a human torch, all the while a fight between Spirits was happening too." I was now leaning towards her head, maybe a few centimeters of the distance between our faces. "So I find it odd that my sister who is almost as good at hiding as me decided to show herself without a reason. Oh, and also sealed the memories of Shido and Kotori of that day."

Phantom tensed a little, or I presume that she did as she is really hard to read when shes like that... if I'll live through this I'm so going to be messing with Reine though.

"So... you don't know..." She quietly whispered under her breath.

"Hmm? Don't know what? What did you do dear sister?" I asked with fake concern and interest.

"This is nothing that should concern you, after all, you're not important." Phantoms' answer was a clear mockery, clearly trying to rile me up.

"Awwww, sis you're being so mean!" I held my hands to my chest, pretending to be hurt. "And all I'm trying to do is to be a good big brother."

"Ha...hahaha!" Phantom laughed at my rather childish act.

"Heh, so you can laugh." I said with a small smile on my face. "Who would have thought that this stalker has a sense of humor."

"Look who's talking." Phantom jabbed back with some playfulness in her voice.

"Yup, let's find Origami and we can be the Three Amigos stalking Shido, what do you think?"I joked though I was more than a bit surprised at the fact that Reine was playing along.

She chuckled again at that and leaned a little on the edge of the roof.

"You're a fine jester, I'll have to admit that." She managed to complete the sentence between her chuckles.

"Well thank you sis, I am trying my bes-"

And suddenly, I feel a weight on my right shoulder and freeze. D-Did I screw up? I-Is this Mio who's right behind me?

I look back to Phantom expecting a mocking laugh but instead, she's... slowly and nervously backing away?

What?

"W-What a-are you?!" She yells in my direction and I can sense the fear in her shaking voice.

She then turns and bolts away faster then I could realize what going on, leaving me behind on the rooftop with the weight still pressing on my shoulder.

I swallowed down the saliva that was in my mouth and slowly turned my head towards my shoulder, only to see a puff of white fur and purple eyes staring right into my soul.

"Fou." The little Beast IV that's been sitting on my shoulders proclaims its presence to me and the world.

"Ah...Ahhhhhh."

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA?!?"

And I yelled like a total bitch.

-----------------------------

"Fou?" Asked the small squirrel-like creature.

"Yes, we're still looking for Kurumi, I need for her to stay in the city, you know?" I replied with annoyance.

"Fou." Whined the critter.

"You're gonna get all the food you want after, I promise." For a 'Beast of Calamity' Fou is quite pampered.

Yeah, so after I was done screaming loud enough to wake up everyone in the neighboring buildings(and causing some car alarms to activate) I learned from Fou why and how he got here.
At least I'm not the only one away from his home here...

As it turns out, it was both Merlin and Zelretch who are responsible for dropping Fou into this world. Oh, and I can somewhat understand what Fou is saying even if all that I'm hearing is 'Fou', weird Nature Spirit crap I guess.

Yeah, the old troll and the 'dick wizard' are apparently good friends so when Merlin learned that he can give a displaced True Ancestor a heart attack he yeeted Fou across dimensions without a second thought.

I barely recognized Fou when I saw him at first but then all the details were correct as Fou was some weird squirrel-like creature, with white soft fur and an incredible fluffy tail, ears that could rival a rabbit and a small blue-white cape around this neck that was tied together with a red knot. Also, the feeling of power emanating from him once I tried to sense it.

Fou hesitantly admitted that he was quite lost when he got here, so he went after the closet source that reminded him of his homeworld.

Me.

After our talk, he agreed to first help me find Kurumi so I can have a talk with her tonight and after that, we're getting to my hotel room so I can explain our situation to the little guy. He also agreed to try and not scare my birds away, so its something.

"Fou!"

"Hmm? That direction? Are you sure?" I asked Fou for confirmation of the whereabouts of Kurumi.

"Fou." The little one nodded.

I'm going to need to ask him how he does that, to be able to sense Spirits better than me and he just learned what those girls are.

"Fine, fine. Try not to fall off, alright?" I relented and decided to trust Fou's instincts as I dashed across the rooftops.

I wonder how will the rest of the Spirits react at Fou's presence? Will they feel that he's much more than just a cute animal and run away screaming or try and cuddle him to death?

Just as I jumped on the top of the next building I finally saw Kurumi standing at the edge of the roof and surrounded by at least a dozen of her clones.

"Fou?"

"Yup, that's her. Wanna go and say hello?" I asked with a cheeky smile to which Fou responded with a tilt of his adorable little head. "Hello, it is then."

I walked closer to where the original Kurumi was standing and weaved myself between the clones trying to not touch them by accident, a good thing that my Presence Concealment can be extended towards Fou because otherwise, people would see a flying squirrel.

Anyway, now that Kurumi is roughly in arms reach I drop my Concealment revealing myself to the girl and her clones.

"Good evening, Kurumi-chan~" I almost sang these words with a smile on my face, and I saw how quickly Kurumi whipped her head around with an expression of pure terror on it.

At least something is going my way tonight.

XXXXXXXXX

I'm sorry that it took a bit longer to realize this chapter, but for some reason, I couldn't really get myself to write down the ideas I had.
So anyway, Al decides to be stupid and talk with Phantom which thankfully goes better than he hoped and gets trolled by Merlin and Zel.
The next chapter will be about trolling Kurumi and trying to establish some kind of a civil relationship with her, after that It will turn for Tohka.

If Westcott knew, he would ran away and hide at this point but... *insert demonic Fou laughing*

Damn, I wonder if Reine heard you flip out while she was hauling tail. Can't say I blame her much either. Fou pulls double duty as both a Beast of Humanity and a Beast of Gaea. Anything even tangentially linked with Gaea's Will can tell what exactly is hiding within that squirrel-sized frame. Al, a True Ancestor, and Reine, a clone of a Spirit born of Earth's mana, probably don't even need to see him.

Well, this seems entertaining. One thing though...

Why must you do this? This brings me almost physical pain. Please, please make use of the CTRL+F utility and add the requisite "gh" to the end of all of these, before I go mad or something.
In the last chapter or in general? Tried looking for them and didn't see so I guess it must have been in the earlier chapters?
Edit: Ok, I think I found the ones in the first two chapters and fixed them, were there any more?

I think it was just early on. At least, I didn't keep getting bothered by noticing them in later chapters, so probably just those. And thanks.

Also that was downright funny how he damn screamed to high heaven's when Fou appeared. Granted, it is funny how he literally just took it for granted and just let Fou be his shoulder buddy (well the other option was leaving Fou in the wild and...)
Like always, thanks for catching those.
And I had a random thought for some time now, since Fou is created by Gaia just as True Ancestors were, does that make Fou and Al siblings?

Not really, you get to be siblings by being related by DNA, in the sense that your babies will be disfigured, or you grow up together and form a the bond that way. Siblinghood is only tangentially related to parents, since you could be a test tube clone experiment, making the other clones your siblings but without any parents.

Otherwise all Nasuverse characters, who were created by Nasu, would count as siblings due to having the same creator. So either all fictional characters made by a person are related and all relationships between them are incest, or it does not work that way.

Depends on the nature of Fou, if he is an incarnated elemental, then Kinda, if he's something else then completely no not at all.

Omake: 2x Red and Blue
So, since we have Fou on board, why not write a non-canon encounter with some of the old man's apprentices?
Hope you enjoy it!

XXXXXXXX

I walked into the hotel soaked wet from the rain with Fou on my shoulder, the little bugger was being clever and hid under my hat, and as such he avoided all the water and was dry.

Luckily there were no guests in the lobby and the receptionist lady was just like the rest of the staff under my influence and was thus ordered to ignore my presence unless asked otherwise.

So I proceed to take the elevator to reach the floor of my room, which I reached within just a few minutes.

Finally, before my door, I reached out to grab the doorkn-

"Fou!" Warned the little critter.

"You're sure? Can you tell me who could it be?" Fou warned me of the signs of a foreign presence in the room.

"Fou, fou?" Fou seemed sure that he knew the traces of the presence, but didn't know what the other one was.

"Hmm, so the old pervert?" I sighed and tensed my body to be ready to react to anything. "Alright, we go in and watch out for any of his pranks."

"Fou!" Fou agreed with me and likewise tensed his small adorable body.

Our minds made up I opened the door of my room and slowly entered, my eyes scanning every surface while Fou tried sniffing anything suspicious. We didn't encounter anything out of the ordinary...until we entered my bedroom.

And there, right on my bed was a really big wooden chest with iron reinforcement. I looked towards Fou and our confused eyes met before we both tilted our heads.

A chest.

The old man send me a chest? Why would I need a chest that's big enough to hide a corpse or tw-

RUMBLE!

The chest suddenly sounded and shook a bit, as if something alive was trapped inside. As this happened, I also noticed that a small note has fallen off the side of the chest which Fou quickly caught and handed me over.

The note was of course from Zelretch and read :

"Dear Grandson, I know that you just met Cath Palug but I thought that it is still insufficient company for you, and as such, I decided to send over my apprentices. Since you have shown interest in human magecraft they might even teach you something useful.

P.S.

I honestly just wanted to get rid of them."

...

...

"Screw it, lets see who's in the box. " I said with a shrug and tossed the letter behind me. "Alright Fou, I'm going to open this now."

My little companion nodded and decided to take a seat on the nightstand and watch who is going to be our new companion/victim of the old prankster.
I lift the top of the chest and...

I'm greeted with the sight of a beautiful young girl, her long golden hair is styled into coils, she wears a sky blue dress that's the same color as her ribbons and her brown chocolate eyes are just as surprised as I am.

Luviagelita Edelfelt, or simply Luvia.

And right next to her is another young girl.

Most of her black smooth hair is tied into twin tails that are tied together with a pair of simple black ribbons, she wears a red turtleneck with a white cross on the front of it, a black skirt and long black socks and her aqua eyes seem to shine with a mix of surprise and curiosity.

Rin Tohsaka.

And they are both tied to each other with a piece of white cloth shutting them up.
That explains how they didn't make a commotion that would get the staff's attention, as those two hate each other with a passion a shouting match would be inevitable.

"You're finally here onii-chan! Do you like to make people wait for you~?" Said a teasing voice.

"Sister please, we shouldn't greet our Master's grandson like that!" Another voice countered, this one much more serious but still feminine.

I looked at the content of the chest once again and saw a pair of sticks with golden stars standing up by themself and act as if they were alive.

Wait...

"No...no...no no no no no!" I began to panic and-

SLAM!

I slammed the chest close and jump on top of it ignoring the panicked yelp of the two girls inside it.

"Fou! Find me a chain and bring it to me quickly! We need to drop this thing in a river or something!" I yelled towards my small fluffy companion that understood the severity of the situation and instantly ran to look for any kind of chains.

"You can't deny the power of Magical Girls onii-chan!" I heard the voice of the Kaleidostick Magical Ruby.

"Please, don't do anything hasty!" Begged the other voice, it belonged to the Kaleidostick Magical Sapphire.

"NOPE!" I yelled in denial. "Damn it Fou, where is the chain?!"

I am not letting anyone out of this damn box even if Mio herself showed up and demanded that!
