Heavy Meta (No SV, You Are The Eldritch Horror!)

"I'm open here, to you, because of how we are bound together. The wider world is never going to recognize me again." A frown. "I don't know why anyone would try to make the Doctor look like a revolutionary, but I'd quite like to find out. Sabotaging the person closest to saving to world is just stupid, honestly, and I think I'd have known if it was our side.

"Demon contracts, selling your soul, all those stories--although Darius was the first to call the gun demonic. But yes, finding the 'evidence' is probably a good plan. I just don't intend to need a lawyer any time soon." Mina becomes a tiger again for a bit. "Gods help anyone who tries to change that."

"I will continue demonstrating the lack of demonic presence, but, as you said, we must find that evidence. Doctor, could you answer my question, please?"

I'm sorry about this, but I'm going to have to drop out of this.

It's been a lot of fun, but I have been completely unable to keep up with the other players, and I have a feeling that that is not going to change any time soon, so it's probably for the best that I drop out and give someone else a chance to get in in my place.

Darius shook his head and smashed his cane into the ground, making sound to get attention "Alright, listen up. The longer we talk the more time the culprit has to hide of get killed by his employer. Let's assume Mina said something weird Because her Ees'Vee put info into her mouth, like me saying that Elisbeth has the power to track things." Darius blinks "I mean that literal, appearently. So we can assume Elisabeth posseses the ability to track things, Maybe given by her mental companion. I say let Elizabeth track the culprit while Some of us escort her. To protect her and help interrogate the man Who did it." Darius states.

Scene 1-5: Getting in Gear
"Of course and" He pauses. Hello, Remi. What is it? The person who planted the evidence has left the building. Warn the Doctor now. Alright. "Doctor. A warning is to be given now. Someone has planted evidence that you are a member of the Red Order. A young lab assistant is the culprit. He has left the building. Before we continue, we must find this evidence." He sighs. "I know this is sudden, but my...Ess'Vee has decided to warn me now."
Doctor Hematite's face pales, as the implications of what you said sink in.
I have hidden a link in a previous post. The Doctor's guess is accurate.
Just as quickly, the Doctor's expression contorts into one of maddened rage, as he says "I have a pretty good guess who's behind this. We need to act fast, since this isn't the first time that rat bastard Cacassi has thrown someone under a bus. I would estimate we have a minimum of fifteen minutes until the government hit teams arrive."
"Look, I do admire all of the personal growth, expanding horizons, and wisdom being dispensed, as well of discussions about acid. However, tell me something." He takes a deep breath before saying with the utmost certainty and more than a little disappointment. "Did you forget that the good Doctor will be arrested for treason and so will Miss Mina if her...leanings are found out? Unless an excellent lawyer defends them, they would likely be executed or suffer some other equally unpleasant form of punishment." He looks exasperated. "I have already tried to remind you people of this. Now, Doctor, does your building have a receptionist or someone who watches the door? Perhaps a device to keep track of workers? If so, we can locate who this young man is and find the evidence he has planted. I suggest searching your personal belongings and office quickly." @I just write
Doctor Hematite, who had been stirring in impotent rage and frustration at the innane conversation taking place, bursts out with "THANK YOU! Now, if we can put the petty bickering aside for later, can we please focus on keeping me from spending the rest of my life in a labor camp?"

At this, the doctor notes "I'll be looking through my belongings now, starting with that bookcase in the corner." carefully checking over the titles racked on the shelf.
Darius shook his head and smashed his cane into the ground, making sound to get attention "Alright, listen up. The longer we talk the more time the culprit has to hide of get killed by his employer. This remark causes Doctor Hematite to glare at Elisabeth with all the intensity he can muster, before he speaks. "Elisabeth, You need to understand that you yourself are in critical danger of getting thrown into jail along with everyone in this building when the hit teams get here. If you have a supernatural ability to find things, use it."
Doctor Hematite has just realized that he can easily re-purpose the Binding Device into a dimensional bombardment weapon.
With that, Doctor Hematite storms towards the door leading to the main room, saying "I'll be making sure that if I get arrested, at least that smug asshole won't be alive to enjoy it." As the door slams shut, you can hear the doctor barking orders to his remaining assistants.

"I'll go out front and see if there's any record of this Cassini and where he might have been. Plus, I can try to stall the hit teams if they come that way." He exits the room, heading for the front of the building while reaching inside his jacket, prepared to draw his new gun at a moment's notice.

Darius hobbles after the doctor and shouts "Doc, I have no clue what your going to do but I do know it is something drastic. Lets please avoid blowing this asshole to high heavens please? It kind of attracts attention." As Darius hobbles closer to the man he whispers into the doctors ear "Trust me, if you want rid of him, there are beter ways then what ever your planning. I have heard of that Cacassi bastard and deserves what ever fate you have planned, but I have the feeling that what ever you're planning on doing wil kill a lot of innocent people. There are beter ways to kill a man."

Doctor Hematite nods, saying "You think I haven't thought of that? I can tune this device to locate the bastard based on the ripples he leaves in the barrier between realities. Once that's done I can just dial down the blast intensity to minimize collateral damage while still reducing that ass to a charred crater." The Doctor goes back to digging around in his machine, re-calibrating it into a devastating weapon.

"Remember, he's left the building, so don't get too trigger happy, you might hit some random civilian! He's got that fancy car, so maybe wait until you're sure he's stopped." Remi says this in passing.

Darius shrugs "Wel to be fair, couldn't know for sure. This seems like a mad science thing and form personal experience with people like that I can say that people with the spark can get mono-focused. However, it seems like you've got it coverd doc." Darius hobbles out of the room.

Valiard muttered under his breath.

"I'll stall them once they get here, they won't notice me once I've shrunken down to a sufficient size."

He blinked.

"Hold on, since when could I shrink?

... Damn Ess'Vee."

Darius shakes his head "Let me talk to them first, soldier to soldiers. If I don't listen to reason however, then we wil stall them with fist and blade." Darius said, moving to the front of the building.

"..... That might not be the best of ideas, but the only other option I can think of is trying to pull my family's influence on them.... and that wouldn't end well for anyone."

Now that things are happening, Mina becomes human again. Well, mostly human--those are some awfully long fingernails and very sharp teeth. "If all else fails, there's always shredding the idiot." There's rather more hope for that outcome in her voice than is entirely seemly. Turning into large predators seems to be having an effect on her.

like me saying that Elisbeth has the power to track things." Darius blinks "I mean that literal, appearently. So we can assume Elisabeth posseses the ability to track things,
Elizabeth blinks in unhappy surprise at the reminder that the rest of the room remember she exists.

She is quickly overtaken with glee at the news that she did get an otherworldly power. Now she just has to find how it works...

She just has to search and she knows. How convenient.

She doesn't realise that a tiny smile is curving her lips.

Maybe given by her mental companion. I say let Elizabeth track the culprit while Some of us escort her. To protect her and help interrogate the man Who did it." Darius states.
Well, in that case, he's... over that way.

"Elisabeth, You need to understand that you yourself are in critical danger of getting thrown into jail along with everyone in this building when the hit teams get here. Elizabeth is somewhat confident that she'd be just fine and not appreciating the Doctor's ungentlemanly tone regardless.

Elizabeth seriously reconsiders getting closer to the target, but the expectant stares convince her to head out instead.

She isn't particularly sure on the way out of the building, but her power finds her the fastest safe path to this evidence-planter and she hurries along it. She hopes that dragging this criminal back to the scene of his crime will do some good when the police arrive.

Remi sees Elizabeth heading out on his way out. Remembering the various comments about her power, he speaks. "Let me come with you, Miss. The man's got a fast car, so I'll offer the use of my own car. Plus, if I know the man, he'll fight if cornered and my gun might help you out some."

Mina follows, calling back over her shoulder."So who wants to go destroy that 'evidence' before it's found? Someone ought to."

Don't try and ditch the others, Remi. It won't work. Well, how else am I supposed to save my skin? Use the girl to find the evidence! Honestly...

Remi clears his throat. "Excuse me, Miss. It has come the forefront of my brain that you should use your finding abilities to locate the evidence instead of tracking down the culprit. We can do that later, even past his death."

"Finding both sounds good, yes. Although now that we know who he is, we could just stake out his house . . ."

Crap, crap, crap, stop the Doctor now, the evidence sucks, the plan is to have him murder the culprit in rage, that's what he'll be charged with. OK, going now. He runs inside yelling "Stop the machine! Don't kill Cacassi! It's a trap!"

Doctor Hematite looks up from his modifications, saying "Eh? I wasn't planning on firing unless the hit squads got here before we'd gotten rid of that garbage. That said, I do have Cacassi's position locked into the targeting system."

Closing the panel on his modified machine, the Doctor notes "Anyway, if your other side has whispered any new information to you about this plot to have me arrested, I would like to know."

Mina curses. "Oh for--but then who made him the fall guy? Or is that just the contingency plan?

"Can you give me the bastard's location? I can keep an eye on him if need be." Or some teeth, but that's for later.

"Er, what? Cacassi's almost certainly the one who had this idea in the first place."
He's right.

"It's utter crap. Nobody in their right mind would even try to charge or execute you based on it. The plan was obviously to get you to kill Cacassi because of him planting the evidence, yet the mastermind of this plot must truly be devious, as it relies on us gaining knowledge from our passengers, yet it was set up before the experiment even succeeded. I suspect another Ess'Vee is somehow involved..." You're partially right. Also, here's the evidence. Something with a red star. A blank book titled Down with the Neo-Aristocracy. A book that fakes being Doctor Hematite's Red Order journal, but with no thought put into it. "The evidence is something with a red star on it. A blank book titled Down with the Neo-Aristocracy. A book that fakes being your plans for helping the Red Order, but with no thought put into it. That's it. We can find it easily enough, especially with one posing as your journal."
