Heavy Meta (No SV, You Are The Eldritch Horror!)

Albert invokes the Healing Hands trope on himself, then invokes Mage: The Ascension's magic system for a Life 3 standard healing spell on Remiel.

"Well, we should know her progress on her time travel attempt, and it would surely be most impractical for her to complete it in a day or so. According to my Evv'see, she does not have the capabilities to develop a time machine as of this moment."
"True, maybe I did overreact. However, I was more referring to the whole 'explode a bunch of metal objects and glass inside a confined space with all of us', one of which I was holding and another, if the burn marks are any indication, within Darius's holster! If that pen had been in my pocket protector, which it very nearly was, it could have killed me! Speaking of which, I am righteously pissed off about that pen. That was an artifact from my Ess'Vee!" He looks more annoyed about the pen than the scrape with serious injuries or death. "If one of our allies brings her back, she'd better apologize as fast as possible and, if possible, sign a contract in blood and I mean that literally, by the way. Else I shall bring down the righteous fury of the law upon her head." He looks deadly serious on this last part.

"Fine, then. But if you really want to run from everything that scares, confuses or inconveniences you, then you'll be running for a very long time." Mina condenses into a girl again. "Is that why you joined us? Were you so afraid of everything that you attempted suicide? Ye gods, that's just sad.

"As for me, my goal here isn't to attack you, but to get you to start acting like someone I can work with. As it is everything you say makes me want to tear my hair out. You're not even stupid, you're just . . . argh!"

Elizabeth rolls her eyes. Avoiding replying to personal accusations is effectively confirming them.

"Yes, clearly running away from clear threats to my life is a self-destructive attitude that I should abandon. I can see that your plans for my future are far more important than I am." She doesn't use a sarcastic tone, just the sort of mild monotone used to recite truisms.

Nothing about your behaviour says that was anything other than a smart tactical decision.

I expect Elizabeth will apologise if you demand it, but we all know it won't mean anything except that she's a much nicer person than you.

Maybe I should prevent her so we can have a bit of courtroom drama. The righteous fury of the law sounds great.

"I could fix it, I believe, though recovery of artifactly powers is chancy." Albert said.

"But you didn't run away from me, did you? You ran away from an old man telling a sad story." Mina sighs. "You're probably not worth saving from yourself, but here's a question at least: where are you going? Do you know which countries would want you and which would revile you? Do you have a passport, even?"

MONSTER 1: Pirate's Cave
As the majority of the passengers flee the train car in which Mina is busily causing a scene, and Elizabeth is panicking for reasons entirely her own, the ongoing disruption is itself disrupted by a sudden and immediate drop in the ambient light levels. Looking out the window, it's quite clear that the train is going through a tunnel.

There are no tunnels on the line between Port Ferrous and Mire.

The train's driver has evidently come to the same realization, as the squealing of the train's brakes can be loudly heard. Still, the train can't stop all the way before it slams into an obstacle, knocking everyone off their feet, assuming they currently have any.

As your eyes adjust to the darkness, you can see that the crashed train is resting on a ledge over a large cavern. In the middle of the cavern is an inlet where what looks like a military gunboat is docked, with walkways all around the edges of the cavern, and tunnels leading off to who knows where.

A voice rings out through the darkness, dripping with malice as it says "I̩͚̪̘̹ ̪s̬̦̞͇̗̗͉ẹ͕͉e ͈͍̘̬̫̣y̖͕̞͖͓̲̞o̗̮͍̦̘̠ṵ͔̞̼͚ͅ ̟͍̯h͔̫̗̘̖a̯̩v̱̗e̖̯̼ ͍̯̮̻̮s͔͇̮̠ṳ͕͇͍͙r͕̱̰̹̠͚v̻͎̳̙̹i̜̟̣̬̖͚vͅe̫̭d͇ ̳͖̦̥̫̯̝yo̼̜̬̘̟̫ͅu̬ͅr̘̦ ͍̝̣̠̣̭ͅen̦̘tr̻̞̯̮a͎̹n̹̩͎̮̞c̗͈ḙ͎̺̹ ̼̺t̠͍o͉͉͚̘ ̠m͖y͓̰̜̝ hi̳͓̫̞̝d̳d̖e̬͈ͅn̳͈͚͎ ̗̙P͇̫͇̭̘i͕͓͓̦r̞a̲͓̫̝͖͇̞t̩͓͚e'̫̦̞̤s̖͔͉͈̰ C̗͎͎̖a̘͕͕̭͚v̜͕e̺͔͕̫̲̗ͅ.͓̻̤̙̯̩͕ ͙M̯͕͖̖̱o̝̫̤s̜̺̞̻̝t s̥͎̬u̙̯̩̲̗̘r̝͔̮̝̺̗̤p̘̹̠ri̗̰͖̹̜̘̣s͎̪̜̜̦ͅͅi̹͕̳̞n̘ͅg͎̺̻̟̗̥, ̱̖͉ṭ̮̩̗̰̣͈h̤͇̤̫̹̣a̝͔͚̻̝͕t̯ͅ ̜̬̦͇i̟ͅs̳͎̞͚̮.̣̗̰ ̭͎̘̘̰͓̭W͈el͖l̟͔͓̜̻,̻̟̤͚̪̪ͅ I̬ ̼͇̠̻̭d͔̯̰̮͎̞o̪͕̤̯n͈̝͙'̮͓̙̳̰͓̺t͚̪̫̪̫͍ ̭͔͉̙i̥n̺͕͇̫̟t̠̼e͔̱nd̘͙̙̯ͅ ̻on̟ͅͅ ̪l͔e̲̞̪͙͖t͇̫ti̲͔n̗g͕̺̖̳̗̞̦ ͉a̙̦͖̱̻͇ṉy̠̙̦̹̺̼̬ ̼̦̣o̦f ̖͈̺̫̺̼ͅyo͕͇̺̥̪̳̤u̳ ̦̹͕̮͚o͖͖u̺͈t̠̻͉̣ ̤o̬̟̗̞̻͚f̮ ̮̤̠h̟̣̝̹̟e̪͚͇̯͖͙r͔̦̳̯͙e͙͉͕̺̦͎͉ ̱̦̙̯͈̹a̼̭̬̬l̼i̙̹v̺̠e͓,̺̖̗̞͔̦ͅ ̫͙̻̻so̟̹̫ͅ ̹i̞̯̹̺͍f̜̪̭̗̬͙̬ y̪̭̬̼̩̦̗o͕͕u̯͈̺̼ ͍ͅw̲̬̞͖a̱̻̟n̩̺̺t͕̼̥ ̦̘̟t̬̪̣o͍͚̪̼̹ ̬͎͙le̻̖̲ave̯̠̖̦, ͚̤̥̞̻i̗̞͔t̟̦̪̩'͉̱̰̟͔͕l̳̼̠̦̥̗l ̣h̥̻̺ͅa̘̲̤̮̩̬v͍͔̙̖̯e̼̮̗̳̳ ͖̹͍̰̯͚̝t̹̲̱̞̪̙o͍͙̫͍͎ͅ ͍̻̫̲̲be̦ ̪͚͈̘̞o͕̱̻̟͕͓v͓͖̝̥e͓̫̫̣r̥̬̼̟͓̬ ̥̺͉͎̰m̗̳y͈̲̯̺ ͖̣̩̱s̭̼̺̘̟̯hạ̖̬̰̮̫t̜͉̘̣͔t̤e̖̰̼͇re̥d ̟̮c̻̰̞̱̰͉ọ̮̹̼r̥̜̳̖̻͕̭p̯͓̥͉s̜͙̱͉e̞̱͈̬̺͕͙.͓"

There are three obvious paths you could take from your present location; there are two walkways along the edge of the cavern to the left, one higher than the other. In addition, there are a set of steps leading down towards where the gunboat is docked.

Well, what will you be doing now, Bound Ones?

"This is a.... small surprise."

Valiard found his voice was rather higher-pitched in his smaller size.

He bounded down, along with his Rabbit, to where the Gunboat was docked, hoping to either use it's weaponry against the Monster that was clearly going to pop out at any moment, or to prevent it from using the weaponry against the train.

Darius looks around and laughs.
He laughs and laughs and laughs.
"WEL WHAT-A-KNOW! Try to run from duty and it wil pull you back kicking and screaming." He turns to Elizabeth "Wel Then, while I was healing my over exeration I was thinking about saying something meaning full and Then jumpin the train. Now however? Now it is war, So we have No place for sniviling brats." Darius reaches out and takes the rifle He saw Elizabeth take, using his hand to hand combat skill to disarm her "Let an actual marksman use the gun sweet girl, but before I leave, I know you were planning on killing me. You attacked me. I never did such a thing. It seems that in by trying to avoid me stabbing you in the back, you stabbed me kn the back. How poetic." Darius jumps out of the train marches forward, coocking his Newly aquired gun. "TYPHON! Smell out this beast, we be going hunting!"

You barely make it a quarter of the way down the steps when one of them explodes in a greenish flare, slamming you and your rabbit against the ceiling. When you fall off of said ceiling, with several shattered ribs and numerous other injuries, you fall on your face right next to the trainwreck, about three feet in front of Elizabeth.

Apparently, this place is booby-trapped to hell and back.

Mina naturally takes option four: swim. If the monster is underwater then she damn well wants to know about it.

The Shrinking had broken when that particular trap had gone off, the impact shattering the effect of the Bio-Belt.

The Killer Rabbit was slowly trying to get up, snarling. Valiard on the other hand was too busy going into shock to try and do anything. He eventually realized the extent of his injuries when he pain caught up to him, causing him to hiss in pain.

"I don't suppose any of you can heal, can you?"

Darius looks down says "Mines, should have fucking known." He then whistles lets Typhon find and point out the mines without coming to close. Darius sends out a series of whistles, causing Typhon to back up and then pelt an area with a mine with acid, to see if that disables the mine. He is back away from the blast radius ofcourse.

"Me and miss Arche can, although I think wil be of any welp. My knowledge is basic." Darius snarls as he kneels down and starts to heal the wound while apply some basic medical prodecures.

Indeed, Typhon is quite successful at locating mines, quickly pin-pointing a location with a highly abnormal smell. Then a concealed hatch in the cavern wall opens, and what looks like a scruffy man with a blunderbuss dashes out, beginning to bring their weapon around towards Typhon. You have two seconds to act.
Wings, of course. Mina turns them into fins once she's close enough, but they start out as wings.
Flying through the air towards the waterfront goes quite well at first, before the gunboat erupts in a barrage of flak fire. At first this doesn't seem too worrying, until you realize it's firing incendiary rounds.

Roll to dodge.

Darius is a man of war.
He knows how to react
so does typhon.
Typhon fires a barrage acid at the mans feet while Darius shoots the man in the head.
Using the anti-materiaal rifle Elizabeth was so kind to take with her.
He is a man of war, he knows his ambushes.

Mina decides to say screw it and plummet instead. It's not like the impact will do her much damage.

Darius sees the incoming flak and recognises it for incendiary rounds.
He starts when he realises: There are still civilians in the train.
Crap.
Darius points his rifle and fires a round right into the flak to make it explode harmlessly.
He has done this before.
You'd think this would be cool but it is actually rather mundane for the Feisten military.
"Are there any civvies!" Darius shouts.

Monster Attack. Pirate of some kind. Other Bound are on-scene, it's at the site of a train accident Uh... "Alright, new information. There's a monster on the loose. There's a train involved somehow. Let's go." He straightens his suit and walks out the door, directions provided by the Ess'Vee.

The gunman goes down, exploding into... gears? It seems that they were some sort of automaton decoy. Either way, this doesn't seem to prompt any more random booby-traps to go off, and the concealed hatch seems to have remained open.

This works, for the most part. Admittedly you do wind up briefly impaled on the stalagmites on the cavern floor, but that's more an annoyance than anything else.

The rounds were firing with timed fuses anyway to try and catch Mina in the fireballs. They never would have reached the trainwreck in the first place.

Daniel suddenly seems a lot more awake as he says "Follow me, and I'll fly you there in the Gunbee. It'll be a lot faster."

With that, the tired civil servant/hastily trained pilot begins rapidly making his way towards the back of the base, beckoning you to follow.

The bullets arc was perfectly planned to shoot past the flak so it could fly past it at the ship.
The intent to shoot the flak was there to fool the captain, so now the bullet can fly into its real target, the gunships, right past its canons to ignite gunpowder.
{Invoking badass grandpa and combat experience in land like Feinstein.}
Darius whistle Typhon to check for traps. If he does not find anything, Darius will check in the gun. If it is not trapped and useable, he'll take it. He then shouts "There is a passag here where clockwork gunman came from, although it is probably bobbytraped" Darius says.

Mina swiftly enters the water, becoming something fishlike with large eyes. It's gloomy down here, and she needs to see what's in the water fast.

The round slams right into one of the two autocannons that was shooting at Mina, demolishing it completely. Then the ammo for the gun cooks off, sending clockwork crewmen scattering as it explodes and starts a massive fire on the deck.

Checking the passage reveals... yeah, those supports look like they'll go out at the slightest provocation. Going in there is just begging for some asshole to drop a cave-in on your head.
Remi follows Daniel.
The Gunbee is vaguely triangular, with a pair of large vertical rotors embedded in its wings, and a pair of wingtip propellors for forwards propulsion. As Daniel hurries to start the aircraft, he calls out "I don't know where this monster problem is aside from what you've told me, so I'll be needing directions from you!"

with that, Daniel pulls back on a throttle, and the Gunbee lifts into the air, hovering over the base as Daniel waits for directions.
