Harry And The Shipgirls: Prisoner of Shipping (A HP/KanColle Snippet Collection)

*mittens drop* "Who. Hurt. My. Granddaughter?"
I think that she would be referring to herself in first person, because when she does that it means that she's not speaking as Hoppou, adopted daughter of Nagato, but as the Northern Ocean Princess, acting in her capacity an an abyssal princess and actual head of the FoL. And she would be if Regalia was hurt by a Re that's been consumed by The Hate, yet was CLEARLY heavily modified in ways that a Hate-controlled Re could never do, both due to the lack of knowledge, and cognitive degradation caused by The Hate consuming said Re's mind. Now hopefully that are doesn't have some kind of high-power, city block-removing bomb inside of it that's set to go off after the Re dies, or its( it stopped being a "her" when The Hate took hold) skeleton melts away completely.

Which is likely the bigger influence. I've actually done some archery before, but not really had the chance to get serious. I once hit a bullseye, then got the chance to shoot a higher draw weight bow. Completely missed the target. (Not dissimilar to Del's problem, actually, come to think of it)

Yeah. Del understands her aim point and draw to put the arrow where she wants to put it, just like a bullet. The hard part for her right now is working with a bow that is way too heavy a draw.

Somehow, this slipped under the radar when you posted it on Saturday...

No worries, I figured you got busy.

Oh dear, Fleur. You shouldn't have said that...

Yeah, well this was backfill for HL's snip where Heather Potter boggles Ehren and Fleur.

You know not the beast you have just summoned.

Ehren: "Now I know the horror of such a summoning!"

No typos detected. Snippet crossposted.

Thank you, thank you!

*mittens drop* "Who. Hurt. Hoppou's. Granddaughter?"

Sounds about right. Hoppou will be rather upset.

Actually having grown up with several kids from - East Coast US, Southern US and both midwest and west US, damnyankee is totally accurate - 'tis used as one word. Another is eastcoaster and westernhick. Most of the time the sentence would be like 'yeah, she's a damnyankee but she's good folk'

Edit: yes, it's not proper american english, or even english english but people do talk like that. If you want to be somewhat authentic these words creep in.

Exactly this.

As someone who is a city slicker from NYC and who made her money doing (unspecified) investments, Del has a certain social stigma as an 'outsider', and damnyankee. However, the locals view her and Zammy as good folks despite being amateurs who do other things versus those who farm or ranch for a living, so they're socially accepted among the farmers and ranchers as a result. (Zammy would be pointed out at the feed & seed store as 'Yeah, Emma's a raghead/damnyankee/eastcoaster, but she's good people and knows her horses. Helluva rider too.')

Indeed it is. For a very demonstrative example, look at the various videos Shadiversity has posted showing his gradual climb from being able to loose from a 70-pound longbow with difficulty to mastering a 100-pound warbow to his newest project: a 120-pound Mary Rose bow. When he moves up to the higher draw weight for the first time, his accuracy is garbage if he can even draw the bow to a shooting length.

Yeah. In Del's case, she's a 12 year old girl trying to draw a bow made to train a 13-14 year old boy. While she's very strong and fit for a female, the relative lack of upper body strength is hosing her.

Her new bow was enchanted to have the correct draw weight for her throughout her life (in fact, she has it in pride of place back home in her study in the ranch) sio she was MUCh more accurate with that.

(Also it should be pointed out that Del's 'acceptable accuracy' criteria is 'hit the X ring of the bullseye at 50 yards with my off hand for hunting and combat. She and Mika take pride in their shots going exactly where they want them to go.)

I've heard of beefalo, suppose to be quite healthy and delicious.

Yeah, it's pretty good and is lower fat than beef. Part of the reason Del stopped here was to give her daughteru a proper Lakota meal of buffalo/beefalo for her first trip out to her homeland.

I see Del is a decent tipster.

Del is a very good tipster (this was probably like a 4-5 dollar tip) since she got the noblesse oblige training from Jez that Colombe got from Papa (and passed down to Claire/Ehren). She also tends to go mom & pop places like this versus the larger chains when eating out.

Yeah its a real thing that buffalo/cow hybrid.

Indeed it is (in fact most of the current bison who have been conserved have some cattle DNA now, since the two species are somewhat interfertile and can have hybrid calves).

Damn! Thats one heck of a tragedy.

Yeah, the weather int he Upper Midwest is SERIOUS. This was one of the worst historical blizzards, so Del remembers it vividly.

yeah, thats the kind of place where that kind of folk develop from.

Yeah. Which is something that attracted Del to the Dakotas in the first place (along with Teddy Roosevelt) and then Zamarad and now Mika. Mika gets it since the reservation has a similar 'us against the world' mutual support ethos, especially after Blood Week. Plus Mika's experiences int he Navy.

A very good attitude and mindset if i do say so myself.

Yeah, since they are very much at the mercy of Mother Nature, peopel are both pretty self-reliant (Del has a first aid kit, tools and a rifle in the truck in case of an emergency, for instance) and also very supportive of each other in a crisis. Because you do get killer blizzards, bad weather and the like in this part of the USA.

Thats certainly very neighborly of them.

Bit of repaying Del and Zammy coming to their aid and saving their livelihood.

They had a spare steer and donated it for Del's birthday (resulting in Bessie promptly getting turned into steak and beef posthaste as Zamarad fired up the BBQ pit while Del grabbed her set of knives and cleavers to prpare the carcass). It was a nice surprise sinze Zammy was able to cook one of her favorite Levantine comfort food dishes* with literally totally fresh beef (as it it had been mooing an hour before being part of dinner).

*kibbeh nayyeh is raw minced beef, burghul wheat, onion, green chilies, basil, mint, parsley, and Lebanese spices served with olive oil and flatbread to scoop it up and eat it. Zammy loves it and Del's partial to it too.

Real First time combat is never what you expect yeah.

Yeah, and St. Kitts was a really really big fight. That said, anything else is a bit downhill for Mika now, who is a veteran and knows that she can handle some bad situations.

Thank you. She has the experience from WWII, so is speaking of what she knows here.

Now thats interesting to know.

Yep, this is one of those stories that Del's sharing with Mika so she knows more about her mother.

Well...i dont know what to say here.

Eh, He Dog was OK when sober; when drunk, not so much and he did make a pass at Louise.

Cant really blame her for doing such.

Nori's kid, and Del was a cocky little shit at 12. Which got her into some hot water.

Yeah, it wouldn't be fair to anyone else for Del to use her revolver in a competition.

Had to look that word up, and yeah Louise being in shocked awe is well deserved.

Yep. Later in life Del and Lou both find out that their totem is the Thunderbird, this was the first indication of it.

I take it the wood has some special significance?

Kind of. The wood is native to northern Texas/southern Oklahoma and was exceptionally prized as bow-wood. In fact, those bows were worth about one to two decent horses a piece among the Lakota. These bows were enchanted to have the proper draw weight for Del and Louise (and Lou's bow was buried with her; Del has hers in her study).

Also Osage orangewood burns VERY hot (one of the hottest burning North American woods), and Del buys some periodically for snacks for Zammy and her family when they visit.

Yes Delilah, the Thunderbird has your back.

Yep. An early sign that WBCW and Thunderbird are meddling in their lives....

Thats very appropriate indeed.

Yeah, there's that symbolism in Del's life, and again hinting at her becoming a Medicine Woman.

I sure as hell wouldnt want to be in the way of that stampede.

Yeah, this was exceptionally dangerous, like most Stone-age large animal hunting.

Del is running the very real risk of crippling injury or death* here, since the buffalo around her start at 800 pounds and go way WAY up to over a ton of muscle and bone.

That said, participating in it, much less killing multiple bull buffalo is a massive social status boost, since it demonstrates skill with weapons and horsemanship, courage, and willingness to risk yourself for the tribe.

*If she gets dismounted in the path of that stampede, she's literally going to be pulverized.

Gelilah shoots! And she scores!

Yep. It was short-range, really point-blank mounted archery, but Del was accurate enough to hit the bulls in the spaces between the ribs so that the arrows would do lethal damage to the lungs/heart of the buffalo she targeted.

*Stands and applauds*

Yeah, hence her boost to social status. This eventually leads to her adoption into the Oglala and later on initiation as a Medicine Woman.

Walking into the Head Boy's/Head Girl's quarters, Harry perked up a bit at seeing who was there. Briefly, he thought that it was his mother when he realized who it really was and grinned, "Nagato-Chan!"

The actress, meanwhile, blinked a little at the girl in the sailor suit before her eyes widened at realizing who it really was, "H-Harry-Nii-San?! Is that you?!"

Beside her, her usual Abyssal guard blinked a little with a frown on her face, '… I wonder why he is looking like a girl…?'

Moments later, Nagato-Chan asked the exact same question which got a chuckle from Harry as he shrugged with a grin, "Honestly? Partially because it amused me and partially due to a… challenge, of sorts."

Perking up some, Negotiator looked towards him, "A challenge, Lord Harry?"

With a slow nod, the wizard smiled some, "Well, Fleur bet me that she would make a better guy than I would a girl. Probably wasn't all that serious about it, but…" Doing a hair flip, Harry smirked, "Still took it up."

Lips twitching some, Nagato-Chan chuckled some, "I see…" Pausing for a moment, she considered the crossdressing boy in front of her before nodding, "I must admit… you do pull it off."

Teruzuki then spoke up and shook her head, "You have no idea!" Pulling out her phone, she brought it around and began to show Nagato-Chan some video, "See? Harry-Chan is really good at it!"

Eyebrows shooting up as she continued to watch as her brother acted like a girl, the Setgirl only nodded, "Very impressive." Rubbing her chin, she looked up at him, "You've done this before?"

Rubbing the back of his neck, Harry chuckled some, "Well… I've crossplayed some. So… it doesn't bother me that much…" Feeling a tap on the shoulder, he turned to find Argalia there, "Hmm? Something wrong, Argalia?"

Just smiling, the pink-haired weapon spirit nodded his head in the direction of the bathroom, "Do you mind if Melissia and I go for our shower first, Master?"

A smile on his own face, Harry chuckled, "Go ahead. Though remind me later to get a Repair Bath ready for you. From what I know, it does wonders for a weapon spirit."

It went without saying that both weapon spirits promptly gave him a grin along with a jaunty salute before they walked towards the bathroom. Meanwhile, Nagato-Chan continued to watch the videos being shown her with a practiced eye. Finally, she looked up at Harry with a small smile on her face, "I'm impressed, Nii-San. It is not easy to act as the opposite gender."

Quirking his lips, Harry sat down beside her with a chuckle, "Well… like I've said to others, I'm comfortable in my own skin. I know who I am and so it doesn't make much difference to me what I wear. As for acting like a girl…" He then gave a small shrug, "Grow up with as many girls as I have, and you can get a good idea of how to act like one."

Soft smile on her own face, Nagato-Chan nodded at that, "That is true, Harry-Nii-San. One does need to be comfortable with themselves to act properly."

Just nodding, the wizard watched as his "Little sister" turned back to the phone to look through more video and pictures. It struck him right then that, in an odd way, this was something that he shared with said Setgirl, being able to act like something that they were not. Briefly, his smile grew as the two sat together on the couch with Nagato-Chan pointing out various other things he could have done and can do to improve his performance for the next time. Something that made the teen grin.

Of course, then a thought struck him which made him frown a little.

Noticing that, Nagato-Chan tilted her head with a frown of her own, "Is something wrong, Nii-San?"

With a glance at her, Harry's frown deepened, "Hai, mainly that I haven't been spending much time with you like I should."

A little to his amusement, that seemed to fluster the Setgirl as she waved her hands around, "Y-you really don't have to-"

However, the wizard cut her off as he looked at her, "Yes, I do. You're my Nee-San and I'm your Nii-San. Therefore, I should be spending time with you and bonding. We're family after all."

Unknown to him, Nagato-Chan felt warmth in her chest from that proclamation. But then, she frowned a little bit, "I… wouldn't mind it, but I need to fill in for Mama after all with you…"

Rubbing his chin, Harry hummed a little bit at that, "Yeah, but maybe…" Then, a smile appeared on his face and he snapped his fingers, "Actually… we could spend some time in the Room of Requirement."

That made the Setgirl blink as she furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. Negotiator, meanwhile, raised her eyebrows, "Room of Requirement, Lord Harry? What is that now?"

Grin fully on his face, Harry chuckled, "It's a special room here in Hogwarts. Basically? It can become whatever sort of room you want."

Eyebrows shooting up, Nagato-Chan had a look of wonder on her face, "Any room that you could want?"

Lips twitching, the crossdressed teen nodded at that, "Hai. I've seen it be a training room, a small library, a classroom, a pool, and something of a cross between a lost and found as well as a storage warehouse." If anything, his grin widened some as Nagato-Chan blinked at his next words, "That last one is important because I've been going through it slowly to salvage things in it. And there is a lot… Maybe we could find some things that you could make use of for props? Just the two of us."

Blinking, Nagato-Chan's expression brightened as she reached over and hugged him, "I'd like that, Harry-Nii-San."

Just hugging her back, Harry held her for a few moments before another thought struck him, "Actually… there is another thing that we could do together." When she pulled back with an interested look, he smiled, "One of the weekends that I'm off, I'm going to be heading up to Ginzan to check on one of my investments via Yukikaze-Chan and I could use someone experienced in acting and the entertainment business for help."

Now even more intrigued, the Setgirl gave him a raised eyebrow, "How so?"

Glancing at Natsumi, Harry smiled a little bit, "Well… mainly that I'm going to check out the newly re-established Ungaikyō Films and need someone experienced in that type of thing to tell me if it's good or not."

Rapidly blinking, Nagato-Chan furrowed her eyebrows in confusion as she thought and searched her memories, "Ungaikyō Films? I'm… not familiar with them."

A surprised look on her face at having heard the name, the Kitsune shook it off after a moment, "I'm not surprised." When Nagato-Chan looked at her, Natsumi gave a small shrug, "It was a film studio on the magical side of things. They mostly made movies for No-Majborn witches and Wizards as well as Yokai who mostly lived in the non-magical world. Using magic and Yokai illusions for special effects."

It went without saying that Nagato-Chan's eyebrows shot up, "That… sounds interesting." Rubbing her chin, she hummed a little, "I've kind of wondered from time to time about what one could do with magic in regards to film before, so…"

Very slowly, Natsumi nodded, "They're good films, trust me." However, she frowned and turned towards Harry, "But I thought that they went under when the Magical Diet passed laws to shut them down? How…?"

Chuckle escaping him, the teenage wizard shrugged his shoulders, "Well, the Tokyo Diet is no longer in charge and they met some people now in Kyoto. With the Statute coming down, there's no reason for them to be banned under 'Threatening the Statute of Secrecy'. They just needed some investors to help them get back on their feet, so…" Sucking his teeth, he continued after motioning with his hand which they nodded at, "Another reason that they haven't really been talking about it was that they were in negotiations with Studio Nue and the like as they needed to settle some possible legal issues before the fall of the Statute of Secrecy. And it was best to get it done now and out of the way without anyone really the wiser."

Jerking back some, the Setgirl frowned a little at that, "Studio Nue? Why would they be in negotiations with them?"

Natsumi was once more the one who answered her question with a look of thought, "Back in the 80s. Among other films they made were a live action Space Battleship Yamato and Super Dimension Fortress Macross. Back then, they couldn't exactly get in Contact with the rights holders, even if they tried to do them good…" She then continued to frown in thought, "Because of the audience that they were making the movies for, they decided to make the movies because it was partially a challenge and partially because they actually really liked the series. Though, from what I know they did send them some money for what they made from the movies…"

Frown on his face, Harry nodded a little bit, "That was one of the reasons that they were hammered under the laws from the Magical Diet, because they used back channels to get a portion of the money that they made back to the owners of the copyrights in question. Hence, risking the Statute…" Briefly, his lips twitched a bit, "It was a bit of a surprise apparently for Studio Nue as they always wondered where the money that sometimes showed up in accounting came from. Because when they had accountants go over it, it seemed to come from nowhere and they could never find out who was giving them it. Some of them thought that someone in the company was using it to launder money." Scratching his chin, the wizard frowned some, "They've come to an agreement and apparently it involved a re-release of the live action Macross film trilogy that they did as Studio Nue really liked it, but… I can't say much more than that."

Understanding on her face, Nagato-Chan nodded before cocking her head to the side, "How did they make it, the live action Macross films?"

The wizard blinked at that before humming, "Well… the scriptwriters were fans of the show and didn't change much besides adding some detail and cutting away a bit. It followed the actual series pretty closely with each of the three films being about an hour and a half long. For the Producers, Director, and cast? They had them sit down and watch the series from beginning to end a couple of times to get used to the story, the characters, and the like. They also built sets and everything."

At that, Natsumi gave a nod, "They actually built a twenty foot long version of the Macross made out of steel that actually transforms and can fly…" Pausing, she chuckled weakly, "Well, levitate, but I heard that they had some small turbines in the legs to propel it around with fox fire to give the illusion of it being propelled via thrusters." The Kitsune then smiled a little bit, "They also built some scale models of the other ships as well which also had levitation charms and small turbines to propel them along. From what Chichi-ue told me, they filmed the space battles in hangers using multiple Kitsune and Tanuki to cast illusions to make it look like it was in space as they used the cameras to record it. Not to mention the indoor sets for everything as well, also built to scale."

Slightly amused at Natsumi's enthusiasm, Harry chuckled some and gave a slight shrug, "There was also how they filmed the scenes where you had the human characters facing the Zentraedi and such outside of their VFs." At the interested look from the Setgirl, he continued, "They made use of Osaki and Itachi, having them take on the form of the characters, but at the size of their animal forms. Meanwhile, the ones playing the Zentraedi and such would be normal size, hence looking like they were giants compared to the normal human characters."

Leaning back in thought, Nagato-Chan hummed some as she considered what she had just heard and chewed her lip, "I can see how that would work… and work very well." She then cocked her head to the side and frowned, "But do they have any projects that they're working on now, Nii-San?"

Not answering right away, the crossdressed teenage boy leaned back, "I… know of at least two projects that they're working on." At the interested look, he smiled a little bit, "The first is the Tale of Tamamizu and the second is the Fox in the Cycle since neither need a whole lot of special effects…"

Perking up at the last one, Natsumi looked at him in surprise and excitement, "They're making a movie based on the Fox in the Cycle?"

Unable to help himself, Harry chuckled a little bit, "Hai, Natsumi-Chan, they are as a matter of fact. I take it that you read it."

Blush appearing on her face, the Kitsune looked away sheepishly, "Well… I always did like the story."

Looking between them, Nagato-Chan had an interested look on her face, "I take it that it is a good story?"

Turning to her, Natsumi took a deep breath before nodding, "Hai." She then continued some with a sigh, "It's a Kitsune love story that was written and published in the magical world. Basically… it follows a female Kitsune through the cycles of reincarnation of her lover. See, the first chapter outlines their first life together and he died from wounds in her arms. Hence, she went to the Shrine to Inari-Sama in Kyoto and prayed for a way to meet her lover once more, where the Kami appears in front of her and gives her a gift. As Inari-Sama tells her, it is double-edged in that she will find her lover each time they reincarnate, but as a Kitsune, she will be forced to watch them die."

Eyebrow raised, the Setgirl slowly nodded, "I take it that each chapter follows a different life?"

With a hum, Natsumi smiled a bit and glanced at Harry, "Hai, she finds her love in different lives. Sometimes they're male, and sometimes female. But always human and someone who falls in love back. Each time, though, as Inari-Sama told her, they die and she continues to live due to the lifespan of a Kitsune. A few times in the books, the lover dies of old age, sometimes of sickness, and a few times from combat or wounds thereof. Each time, she feels like her heart is ripped out, but keeps going on so that she can see them again. So it is kind of bittersweet…" With a small sigh, the Kitsune had a far off look on her face, "The last chapter of the book happens in World War Two, where her husband is away when the firebombing of Tokyo happens and rushes home to find the Kitsune trapped under debris as the fires inch closer. She begs him to leave and, crying, he tells her that he would never leave her to die. As she stayed at his side through his different lives, which he now remembers, so too will he die at hers. Thus, the two embrace best that they can as the fires overwhelm them with Inari-Sama above watching and weeping."

A lump in her throat, Nagato-Chan slowly nodded, "That… is pretty bittersweet."

Very slowly, the Kitsune nodded, "Hai, but there is a happy ending as there's an epilogue in the modern day. A young Kitsune girl rushes to school and bumps into a boy who helps her to her feet, with it being revealed that he, too, is a Kitsune. Both of them feel a connection and their hearts beat faster as they hold hands, while Inari-Sama watches from above, weeping, but in happiness. With Inari-Sama's last words being that devotion such as they had shown should be rewarded, thus stating that the two are the Kitsune and her lover, now together in a way where they can live out their very long lives together without fear of one dying of old age long before the other."

Considering look on her face, Nagato-Chan chuckled a little bit, "You know, I can see that as being a good movie."

They continued chatting for a few minutes before Melissia came walking out of the bathroom with a towel around her torso, which revealed a modest amount of curves and some cleavage, with a happy sigh, "Ah, nothing like a nice hot shower." She then noticed Cathy sputter some, "Eh? What's wrong?"

Just coughing some on her drink, Cathy flushed some and pointed at her, "Wh-what are you doing walking around in just a towel?"

Rubbing the back of her neck, the Sword of Astolfo chuckled sheepishly with a grin, "Ah, sorry about that! We forgot to grab some clean clothes before we headed in for our shower. But it isn't that big of a deal."

It was then Argalia's turn to come walking out with his towel around his neck and wiggling a bit in his ear to get the water out, "What's with the yelling?"

Yet again, Cathy sputtered some and turned to him, "Y-you both aren't wearing clothes and… and…" She stared for a little bit as her eyes trailed down Argalia's body, slowly becoming redder, "You're a man!?"

Very slowly, the Lance blinked before looking down and nodding, "Yup! Still a man!" He then turned his attention back up to a reddening Cathy, "Why?"

Harry then blinked himself and turned towards Cathy, "Wait, you didn't know that only one of them was a girl? I thought…?

Needless to say, the sputters from the blonde sword was enough of an answer for all of them before she screeched a bit. Then, she groaned and placed her hands over her face, "… No, I did not."

Of course, that was when both Argalia and Melissia chose to start laughing at her reaction, which got grins and chuckles from the others.

Well, this was a nice bit of winding down from breaking everyone's brains.

"[Times New Roman]A challenge, Lord Harry?"
Formatting is borked. And Sendai'd

"Do you mind if Melissa and I go for our shower first, Master?"
I know what's coming ne~ext.

"[ Font=Times New Roman]Room of Requirement, Lord Harry? What is that now?"
Formatting is borked as well. And probably Sendai'd.

"Hai. I've seen it be a training room, a small library, a classroom, a pool, and something of a cross between a lost and found as well as a storage warehouse." One good source of props for Stop-Motion animation is cardboard, my brother knows that and uses it in his army men films, including one big one that he's (SLOWLY) working on.

"One of the weekends that I'm off, I'm going to be heading up to Ginzan to check on one of my investments via Yukikaze-Chan and I could use someone experienced in acting and the entertainment business for help."
I'm looking forward to that. We haven't seen enough Shiromizu (or Saint Brendan's islanders, I don't see why people don't like them).

Natsumi gave a nod, "They actually built a twenty foot long version of the Macross made out of steel that actually transforms and can fly…" Pausing, she chuckled weakly, "Well, levitate, but I heard that they had some small turbines in the legs to propel it around with fox fire to give the illusion of it being propelled via thrusters."
That sound like it's going to become a Setgirl one day.

"It's a Kitsune love story that was written and published in the magical world.
*looks at description*. That's a bit too bittersweet for me. If given a choice, would prefer to watch something else. Elite: Dangerous: The Animation, anyone?

Yet again, Cathy sputtered some and turned to him, "Y-you both aren't wearing clothes and… and…" She stared for a little bit as her eyes trailed down Argalia's body, slowly becoming redder, "You're a man!?"
CALLED IT!!!

So, Harry's backing a film studio that's restarting after the Magical Diet shut them down, and they already have a decent set of films to use as promos for when the Statute goes Splat!. IL&M will have to play catch-up, since it sounds like this group already has a pretty good grasp of how to leverage magic into SFX for films as well as having the whole anime background to draw inspiration from for their primary audience.

Come to think of it, if Harry shares Tom's protoflight spell with the studio mages, there are a lot of movie effects for actors that suddenly get a lot easier to pull off in front of the camera. And the setgirls would probably be chomping at the bit to sign on with the studio as actresses or possibly even producers and directors, depending on just which fairies from their own casts and crew have come along for the ride.

Just smiling, the pink-haired weapon spirit nodded his head in the direction of the bathroom, "Do you mind if Melissa and I go for our shower first, Master?"
"Mou, the Mizuchi stole the I from Melissia."

And we all know what's coming next.

Rogue comma.

They're.

Too.

Remove.

And there it is!

*blinks* wait a second... I know this! I almost forgot!

Wait... searching memory banks... plot not found.
I've been playing too many video games, the plot isn't coming to me easily 😑

As we discussed a while back, Mobile is pretty pissed since she missed the bulk of St. Kitts as the first shipgirl to get evacuated (she ran into the bulk of the Abyssal fleet coming out of the bad part of the storm, and got bailed out by the battleships, but missed the 'fun' afterward when things went full Jutland). She will be getting the Presidential Unit Citation/Navy Unit Citation along with the rest of TF 28 though.

Oh yay! It's good to see Nagato-chan back with us! Great snip HL!

Teruzuki then spoke up and shook her head, "You have no idea!"

Ahh yes, Fleur's Folly gets discussed again!

Pulling out her phone, she brought it around and began to show Nagato-Chan some video, "See? Harry-Chan is really good at it!"

Eyebrows shooting up as she continued to watch as her brother acted like a girl, the Setgirl only nodded, "Very impressive." Rubbing her chin, she looked up at him, "You've done this before?"

Rubbing the back of his neck, Harry chuckled some, "Well… I've crossplayed some. So… it doesn't bother me that much…"

Oh yes. Nagato-chan missed the prior 'Heather Potter' incident. So this is new to her.

Feeling a tap on the shoulder, he turned to find Argalia there, "Hmm? Something wrong, Argalia?"

Just smiling, the pink-haired weapon spirit nodded his head in the direction of the bathroom, "Do you mind if Melissa and I go for our shower first, Master?"

Ahh yes, here it comes. Someone alert Yae since there's about to be a Jeanne d'Boggle spawned!

Yeah, some great brother/sister bonding here. Simply great to see.

Briefly, his smile grew as the two sat together on the couch with Nagato-Chan pointing out various other things he could have done and can do to improve his performance for the next time. Something that made the teen grin.

Of course, then a thought struck him which made him frown a little.

Good for Nagato to point out ways for Harry to improve, Such a good little sister she is!

Well Harry, you just did it. You just made Nagato-chan's day in a big way.

I'll also note that him not spending time is more than justified by her role in the St. Kitts deception plans and Harry necessarily needing to cram for the First Task. Still good for him to try to correct that.

I've seen it be a training room, a small library, a classroom, a pool, and something of a cross between a lost and found as well as a storage warehouse."

Oh yeah, that's going to blow her brain massively.

If anything, his grin widened some as Nagato-Chan blinked at his next words, "That last one is important because I've been going through it slowly to salvage things in it. And there is a lot… Maybe we could find some things that you could make use of for props? Just the two of us."

Blinking, Nagato-Chan's expression brightened as she reached over and hugged him, "I'd like that, Harry-Nii-San."

Just hugging her back, Harry held her for a few moments before another thought struck him, "Actually… there is another thing that we could do together."

Oh Harry you smooth operator. You're totally going to make her day as you two go through the RoR for props and acting ideas.

A surprised look on her face at having heard the name, the Kitsune shook it off after a moment, "I'm not surprised."

Hmm, interesting~~. So some activity in the magical movie department.

When Nagato-Chan looked at her, Natsumi gave a small shrug, "It was a film studio on the magical side of things.

They just needed some investors to help them get back on their feet, so…"

Ok, this makes a lot of sense. honestly. Kyoto would reverse the laws that were killing them since there's no point any longer.

Sucking his teeth, he continued after motioning with his hand which they nodded at, "Another reason that they haven't really been talking about it was that they were in negotiations with Studio Nue and the like as they needed to settle some possible legal issues before the fall of the Statute of Secrecy.

Among other films they made where live action Spacebattleship Yamato and Super Dimension Fortress Macross. Back then, they couldn't exactly get in Contact with the rights holders, even if they tried to do them good…"

Ahh yes, the live action fan films. I imagine that the Japanese movie industry will absolutely check them out as a source of talent and joint projects even if they turn into magical ILM.

She then continued to frown in thought, "Because of the audience that they were making the movies for, they decided to make the movies because it was partially a challenge and partially because they actually really liked the series.

Makes sense and good for them paying Studio Nue for using their license.

Now this sounds really really awesome. And Kitsune/Tanuki/Jorogumo will be much in demand for magical special effects when the Statute falls.

Meanwhile, the ones playing the Zentraedi and such, would be normal size, hence looking like they were giants compared to the normal human characters."

Leaning back in thought, Nagato-Chan hummed some as she considered what she had just heard and chewed her lip, "I can see how that would work… and work very well."

Now that is REALLY clever for that setup. Also, Shrinking Solution would be a possibility....

She then cocked her head to the side and frowned, "But do they have any projects that they're working on now, Nii-San?"

Oh, well I suspect that there will be a romantic date in their future where they go to see this film~~

Oh hell. Fudou is all over this one like a kitsune on Peanut Butter! She is SO taking Yoichi to see this movie with her, since the plotline is very 'her'.

Eyebrow raised, the Setgirl slowly nodded, "I take it that each chapter follows a different life?"

With a hum, Natsumi smiled a bit and glanced at Harry, "Hai, she finds her love in different lives. Sometimes their male, and sometimes female. As she stayed at his side through his different lives, which he now remembers, so to will he die at hers. Thus, the two embrace best that they can as the fires overwhelm them with Inari-Sama above watching and weeping."

A lump in her throat, Nagato-Chan slowly nodded, "That… is pretty bittersweet."

Very very bittersweet. Heck, I suspect that Fudo might be an investor helping bankroll this film when she finds out the script.

Very slowly, the Kitsune nodded, "Hai, but there is a happy ending as there's an epilogue in the modern day. A young Kitsune girl rushes to school and bumps into a boy who helps her to her feet, with it being revealed that he, too, is a Kitsune. Both of them feel a connection and their hearts beat faster as they hold hands, while above Inari-Sama watches from above, weeping, but in happiness.

Oh heck yes. Definitely a Fudou-film if there ever is one. (also Kotegiri/Nobu/Kitsuno are a possibility....)

Aaaand here it comes! Massive Cathy Boggle in three... two... one...

And there goes Cathy! She's out for the count!

Then, she groaned and placed her hands over her face, "… No, I did not."

Of course, that was when both Argalia and Melissia chose to start laughing at her reaction, which got grins and chuckles from the others.

Well yes, they would find it amusing. Poor Cathy is just mortified right now.

I just hope we see Ehren ask Draco why most of Hogwarts wasn't surprised by Harry's prank.

Or Ehren ask the older Puffs about that.

Nagato chan: "I have the BEST brother."

Indeed she does! Indeed she does!

I just half-expected that all to get forgotten or brushed under the rug owing to my recent inability to write for shit. Guess I'm just a massive pessimist. At least she gets a Unit Citation, but that's just a token gesture in her eyes.

And just imagine what ILM is gonna be capable of soon-ish
SOONraccoon.gif

absolute perfect Apocrypha reference
Well, at least the white haired Potter who inevitably will get around to pottering her, isn't going to be the unimaginative cardboard cut-out that Sieg was. Thank god.

No, its not Reimund (possibly would be either his son, or Remy/Remy's son).

Was USS Mobile, the CL-63, a Cleveland class, or the 1854 blockade runner? Forgot.

If the latter, she shouldn't be ashamed of getting her ass hauled out from the fire, considering what was bearing down on her. If the former, yes, I can easily see why she'd be pissed as hell for missing the fight (11 Battle Stars does not a coward make) due to getting knocked out.

I think Ehren is observant enough to look around, sigh, and go "this is not the first time isn't it?"

Yeah, Ehren would pick that up once her brain reboots enough.

Yeah, she would be 'I didn't do anything to deserve it' for her award (not realizing that someone had to find the enemy fleet the hard way and be the first casualty of the battle*). I just thought that you would appreciate it that I added Mobile to St. Kitts like you wanted.

*Yeah, she didn't sink anybody, but did acquire vital tactical intel for Duke to let TF 28 smash the first wave of the zerg rush, so there is that.

Des Moines likely took part in St. Kitts. She spent the vast bulk of her steel hull life in the Mothball fleet after barely a decade+ in very respectable - if boring and uneventful - Early Cold War service. The girl is itching to prove herself in a real battle.

Now if only she could find a blouse whose buttons don't pop off if she so much as breathes deeply.

It kind of has to be the Cleveland, given that TF28 was the Battleship fight. That's the one where Maine got saved from sinking, so a 19th century blockade runner would have absolutely no business being anywhere near it.

I'm good with CA-75 (or CA-134, whichever one you are using) getting her 'real battle virginity' lost at Saint Kitts alongside Rhodie, Mobile, and Mika. Your call whether she got to mix it up alongside the carriers, Duke's battleships, or Pennsy's battleships.

She also knows now why her older cousins in the Northamptons, Portlands, New Orleanses, Brooklyns, Atlantas, and Saint Louises all get really damn pale and quiet when you mention the Solomon Islands.

Since the Lesser Antilles around Saint Kitts turned into the kind of naval hell that Guadalcanal, Ironbottom Sound, and the Slot were in 1942-43.

It kind of has to be the Cleveland, given that TF28 was the Battleeship fight. That's the one where Maine got saved from sinking, so a 19th century blockade runner would have absolutely no business being anywhere near it.

She's the Cleveland, yes.

She was leading one of the scout detachments ahead of the heavy fleet elements when she stumbled into Abyssal central in the middle of the hurricane and had to shoot her way out. That was the initial clash that massively, massively escalated into one of the largest battles of the Abyssal War as everyone headed to the sound of the guns.

I was honestly delighted to see that line. I really do appreciate that.

Hey, glad to be of help! Poor Mobile's a little upset with how it all turned out since shit very much got real right after she got medevaced out with major battle damage taken while covering the retreat of her destroyers (before Mika and Rhodie put their two buffalo head nickels into the fight and gave her cover fire to get to a rescue craft).

I think I've gotten everything ready for Natsumi's and Louisiana's twins. Just need a couple translations idiot-checked prior to selection as a ship name.

The foxy strike cruisers are Kei and Alexandria as girls, with the latter normally going by Dria in civies due to being named after Alexandria, Louisiana.

Kei, however, is the the one in need of translation checking. Her name options are Hadake (should be Leaf Peak) and Onoyama (should be Axe Mountain).

Displacement: 20,000 tons, Dimensions: 765'9" (oa) x 80' 6" x 25'9" (Max). Armament: 1 x 8"/55 MCLWG, 160 cell VLS, 2 x 20mm Phalanx, 6 12.75" tt, 2 helos. Armor: 6" Belt, 4" Decks. Machinery: 221,000 SHP; 2 reactors (D2W), geared turbines, 4 screws. Speed: 30+ knots. Crew: 487.

As girls, they are white-haired, five-tailed kitsune standing five-foot ten inches at age 18. Both have a slender runner's build and favor Natsumi in figure. The two are primarily distinguished between by Kei having a darker skin tone thanks to her night-and-fog camo scheme. Uniforms strongly resemble FFX-2 Rikku's Thief outfit, while rigging is comprised of a massive pistol and a blocky back unit containing their VLS. The two triple ASW torpedo tubes are fixed on the thigh as per KC standard.

At the end of third year when the Dementors attacked (page 97), Harry Leferts posted this,
Porta then lifted her face and gave OLD a look, with her expression one full of wrath, "As well, spread this Order from Us to the rest of the Fleet. These... Dementors, offend me. Deeply at that. They stand under the Hand of Death from those belonging to us wherever they may be."
now at this time Porta is very busy eliminating Petty Princess's and securing trade routes for her allies... In the next few years I see Porta's fleet (in particular the oldest ones) being transferred or TDY to several other countries as part of the alliance (they are grouped with shipgirls and operate as convoy escorts and light defense units in areas that only see ferals and light enemy fleets)

As a result of the above decree, every time an Abyssinium (think that's Porta's name for her territory) ship (yes even the cargo ships though they don't usually fire) comes within weapons range of Azkaban they fire a volley of WP and prox-fused HE... The effects of are, they sweep the battlements and grounds to eliminate any Dementors in the open. I don't think there would be any prisoners by that point so no worry about collateral damage just hurting Azkaban and her Dementors.
