Harry And The Shipgirls: Prisoner of Shipping (A HP/KanColle Snippet Collection)

Arriving back in Yokosuka just outside of the house where the twins alongside Miu and Akimi lived on base, Harry sighed some from the backseat as he had his arms around the waists of Ume and Sakura, "Well, today has been a pretty good day and we got a lot of work on our little project."

From the front seat, Miu cocked an eyebrow as she glanced at the three in the rearview mirror, "I would not exactly call what we were doing a 'Small project', Harry-San."

Smirk on his face, the wizard cocked an eyebrow and snickered some before he shrugged, completely and utterly unrepentant, "Well… I am British after all, understatement is our kind of thing."

With a snort of her own, Miu shook her head some, "I can tell."

Both of the twins giggled at that and leaned more into Harry, "Not that we mind all that much, Harry-Chan. It can be kind of funny at times."

The car coming to a stop in the driveway, Harry snickered a little, "True enough." Unbuckling himself, he motioned for button for the window, rolling it down. Then, before anyone could ask, he transformed into his animagus form and hopped through it, easily landing on the driveway and transforming back. Smile on his face, the wizard opened the door for Ume and Sakura before answering their unasked question, "I have to open the doors for my Himes after all."

Very much amused as she watched how her aunts were deeply blushing, yet also smiling, Miu shook her head some, 'Now that is very smooth… and best part is that he does not even realize it.'

Once she was out, Sakura tilted her head and turned towards her niece, "Would it be okay if Harry-Chan stayed for dinner?"

Pausing briefly as she considered it, the magical Carrier slowly nodded, "I… suppose that would be fine, Oba-San, and I don't really see much of an issue with it." Seeing that Harry opened his mouth, she cocked her eyebrow and cut him off, "And no, I do not need help in the kitchen, Harry-San. Just enjoy some time with my Oba-Sans."

Glancing at the two, who were happily smiling, Harry sighed and shook his head some, "Well, I can just say that is something that I really do not mind doing too much of."

Happily smiling as they leaned into him, feeling his arms wrap around their waists, the twins just nodded, "We do not mind doing too much of it either."

Lightly chuckling, Miu crossed her arms under her bust, "No, I do not see any of you minding that."

In answer, she only got chuckles and a pair of giggles.

Not too long afterwards found the three teens entering the bedroom belonging to the twins. As he did so, Harry noted how like his own bedroom, there was a large window and a closet. Part of him did note that it was larger than his, though he could detect some minor space expansion charms which explained how and why. Said size meant that they had more in it, such as besides the usual dresser and a low bed, there was also a wardrobe, a full-sized mirror that the two girls likely used to examine themselves in, a long desk which had two chairs at it as well as a computer setup, and a small sofa alongside several bookshelves. Not to mention various plants, especially flowering ones.

Continuing his examination, Harry could also see various pieces of artwork on the wall, though one made him raise an eyebrow and bring his hand up to point at it, "Ume-Chan? Sakura-Chan? That one wasn't here before, was it?"

Just blinking, Ume and Sakura turned and looked at the picture in question, which was a Japanese style print that showed a giant, insectile creature on it with two moth-like wings. Unlike a moth, however, it also had a stinger with each of the six legs ending in a three-clawed hand, normal looking eyes, and a mouth filled with massive fangs. Around it was scattered various corpses that had been ripped apart, staining the ground with blood as well as some gripped in its hands.

As one, the twins placed their faces in their hands with sighs, "Blame our Otouto."

Utterly lost, Harry turned to them with a bemused look on his face, "Akiyama-San? What does he have to do with that picture?"

Sighing, Sakura pulled her hands away from her face at the same time as her sister, "We… spoke to him about when you took us to the theatre to see the Mothra movies. He listened to our description, saw how excited we were… and brought us that print to hang in our room, thinking that the movie was about it."

Very slowly, the wizard blinked at that and turned back to look at the picture, "… Er… a giant moth-like monster? Because I am not really recognizing it."

Only shaking her head, Ume sighed some, "It is from a series of five paintings showing divinities banishing evil. This one is titled 'Shinchū'."

Eyebrow raising, Harry frowned slightly, "'Divine Insect'?"

Turning back to the print, Sakura and Ume nodded, "Hai, they are a race of insectile gods that look like giant silkworm moths and who live on the continent of Enbutai, also known as Jambudvipa, which is south of Sumisen, or Mount Meru, the center of the universe. It is a forested land and the only one among the four continents surrounding Mount Meru where humans live as well as the only one where enlightenment can come from study and mediation as humans can occur." Gesturing at the print, they continued, "It is where the Shinchū live, and they protect the humans there by devouring the evil spirits and demons that try to harm and corrupt the humans that live there. Each day, they devour three thousand evil spirits and each night they devour three thousand more."

Rather thoughtful, the fourteen-year-old wizard hummed some as he looked at the picture, "Huh… I can see where he got the idea that you were talking about them when telling him about Mothra. Though…" Looking back over his memories of Natsue as well as Jiahao, he raised an eyebrow, "I've… never heard of them."

Considering that and knowing that he actually had memories from centuries earlier, the twins shook their heads, "We… are not surprised, as the idea came from a vision that was reported from what we know of the background on the magical side."

Interested, Harry turned to them, "What do you mean by that, Ume-Chan, Sakura-Chan? What sort of vision?"

For a few moments, neither of the two spoke, simply gathering their thoughts. Then, slowly they nodded a little bit, "It came from a traveling band of Buddhist monks who were moving through Hizen Province when, during one night as they camped on the seashore, some of them noted a strange light and followed it. They came to what they described as a glowing hole of sorts, and through it they saw a mighty battle happening in the distance. Strange creatures, that could only be evil were fighting the Shinchū alongside what they called 'Moving mountains with scales' that had large spines that glowed as they breathed blue fire onto the monstrosities. And, in the background, they could see large, glowing mushrooms rising upwards." Slowly they shook their heads, "The Monks watched in awe at what they believed to be a battle between good gods against evil, malicious spirits until the hole closed shut."

Staring at her, Harry didn't say anything, 'That almost sounds like…' Just shaking his head, he coughed and cleared his throat, "Er… how did they know that the creatures being fought were evil? Or that it was Jadbudvipa?"

With a small nod, Sakura smiled a little, "As to it being Jadbudvipa, they noticed some creatures fleeing the battle, which resembled the elephants that scrolls speaking of India spoke of, but far greater in size. And with them being evil…" She then grimaced and shook her head, "One of them came through, looking like a monstrous mix between a human and an insect, leaping onto one of the monks and biting them. They killed it, but soon after, the monk began screaming as his midsection bulged and then exploded, with smaller versions of the monster clawing their way out, though each one was killed on the spot."

Pausing for a moment, the teenage wizard nodded some, "Well… I can't blame them, though…" Frown on his face, he hummed a little bit, "I do sort of wonder… Considering things, that sounds like Nagasaki, and there is a temporal tear there. Maybe they were seeing through it? I mean, the giant mountains sort of sound like Goji-San. And from what I heard, there's stories told among dragons of a massive war before humanity existed, so maybe that was what they were seeing."

Now becoming thoughtful, the twins considered that before slowly nodding, "You might well be right, Harry-Chan, though that does beg a certain question…"

His eyebrow raised, Harry turned towards them, "Oh?"

Slowly, Ume and Sakura nodded some, "If Goji-San's kind are still around, are the Shinchū?"

About to say something, the wizard then frowned and hummed, "… Good question…"

Quite a ways distant, two glowing red eyes were watching a teenage boy walking along chatting with a girl from a darkened alley. The creature itself looked almost human, but had a grey pallor like a corpse, glowing crimson eyes, and a pair of fangs in upper and lower jaws as well as dirty claws on the ends of its fingers. As it watched the two teens getting closer, it grinned as it was joined by a second, both licking their lips with long tongues.

Until, that was, a pair of hands shot out and grabbed them, yanking them back.

Both creatures struggled as the hands around their throats tightened and a feminine voice spoke up, "Hmm… I knew that I sensed evil, and it seems that I caught a pair of Shinigami waiting to prey upon someone."

Struggling, the two looked at the one who grabbed them, the woman being quite beautiful while wearing a sweater and dress combo and two large eyes that sparkled with glee… and hunger. One of them lashed out, a spell on its hand… Only to become horrified when the woman simply opened her mouth and sucked said spell in.

Then, swallowing, the woman simply smiled at them, "Ah… that was quite the nice appetizer, I will admit… but not for the main course…" Panicking, the two creatures began to struggle more, but it was of not use. Suddenly, their skin began to seemingly tighten to their bones, the eyes rolling back into their heads and disappearing as their hair fell from their heads. Soon, the skin rotted and fell from the bones in golden powder, the skeletons soon following. Humming, the woman closed her eyes before sighing, and then walking out, looking at the two teens, "Ah, Haruki-San, Maki-Chan, it has been a while."

Rapidly blinking, the two teens then smiled as they bowed towards her, "Hello, Kaera-Sensei."

Lightly chuckling, Haruki, the male of the two straightened, "Heh, haven't seen you since elementary, Sensei, what are you doing around here."

About to say something, Kaera burped some and smiled, "Ah… sorry about that, I was just getting a meal and finished it a little bit ago." Then, she became serious and wagged a finger, "You really should be moving on, it would not do to be out after dark after all."

Both teens then nodded and bowed once more, "Hai, Kaera-Sensei."

With that, the two walked off, not noticing as their former sensei walked past a broken mirror and showing two moth-like wings on her back as two strands of hair came up like antenna…

Meanwhile, back at Ume's and Sakura's house, Akimi was leaning forward with an interested look on her face, "So, you already have a plan about the Shikigami that myself and the others have asked for you to make as a test? With those creatures?"

Swallowing his food, Harry smiled some and nodded, "Hai, I have as a matter of fact." Motioning with his hands, he shook his head some, "I realized early on that the normal paper Katashiro won't really do in regards to what I want. The spirits really do not have enough spiritual energy to create a shell using them, and seem more… instinctive from what I have been able to tell. And the usual method of creating an element with magic or charging it with some won't have an effect either since they don't seem to be actually connected with any real element more than the others. Maybe Void, but… what can you create using Void as an element?"

Considering that, Miu slowly nodded with a frown upon her face, "Not anything that I can think of, since Void is an absence of things except for magical or spiritual energy. I can certainly see why now that may cause issues for you, Harry-San. That means that you would need to do a bit more with regards with preparation for the Shikigami body for the spirit to inhabit. Hmm… rather problematic."

Lips twitching, the teenage wizard raised a finger, "Hai, but then I thought over it and had some advice. So… I'm going a bit all out with them."

Interested, Ume and Sakura both turned towards him, their heads tilted to the side, "What do you mean by that, Harry-Chan? How are you going all out?"

Grin appearing on his face as he took another bite of food and chewed it, Harry swallowed it before answering, "Well, first, I am going to be making a skeleton, as in a literal one, using shipgirl steel from the block of swarf that Akashi-Oba gave me to mess around and experiment with."

Hum escaping from her, Akimi leaned back a little bit, "That… would certainly help empower the Shikigami…"

Only nodding, the fourteen-year-old frowned a little bit, "Hai, and at first I was simply going to use clay to form the body around the skeleton and fire it in my kiln. But… then, with the help of Natsumi-Chan, I came up with an idea!" Gesturing with his hands, he smiled once more, "What if I not only added muscles using metal wire, but also a tiny grain of Magicite to represent the heart."

The two women across from him had their expressions go through various changes, including confusion, realization, surprise, and the like.

Furrowing her eyebrows as she rubbed the side of her head, Akimi coughed, "I… that is certainly a plan to make a Shikigami, Harry-San. And definitely would allow for a fairly powerful boost as well."

Having taken a sip of water to clear her throat as she had been about to choke, Miu nodded, "Hai, I can see that providing enough for it."

Much to their surprise, Harry shrugged at that and shook his head some, "I mean, it should… but I'm not really taking any chances, so I think that I will be making the muscles out of Argentum lunae."

Each of the four women there blinked and furrowed their eyebrows in confusion. Finally, Ume spoke up, "May we ask what that is, Harry-Chan?"

Lightly chuckling, Harry nodded with a smile on his face, "Dess! It basically translates as 'Silver of the Moon' or 'Silver of Moonlight' and is a special form of alchemically produced silver."

Gleam in her eyes as she leaned forward, Akimi hummed some, "Alchemically produced silver, Harry-San? How so?"

With a small nod, the wizard hummed for a moment or two as he remembered that his Sensei was very much one who was interested in magics, "Well… do you know what a burning glass is?"

Confused look on her face, Akimi shook her head, "No, I'm afraid that I do not, Harry-San, what is that?"

A small chuckle coming from him, Harry grinned some, "Well, a magnifying glass when used to ignite something is a burning glass. But… okay, as far back as the Bronze Age in Greece, they discovered that you could use curved mirrors to focus sunlight onto a specific spot, generating high amounts of heat. Enough that you could combust something… and, in fact, the metal orichalcum is made with such. In the case of the olden ones, they used a literal wall of mirrors to focus the light of the sun on a specific point, using it to melt copper, gold, and the like with magic helping to mix them together to form orichalcum. It is why said metal was so expensive."

Very slowly, Miu nodded with a thoughtful look on her face, "That… makes sense."

Only nodding, the fourteen-year-old boy continued, "Now, later on, some alchemical processes needed a very even amount of heat, which couldn't really be gotten using a normal fire. Hence, they turned to both the burning mirrors, as they were called, as well as a lens of crystal or glass, called a burning glass." Motioning with his hands, he shook his head, "Some of these were basically magnifying glasses, with a single lens. Others, however, made use of two or more lenses to concentrate the Sun's light even more, with one much larger than the others. Later, magical ones, made use of special versions of the Protego spell to gather and focus even more light through the lenses, giving them even more heat."

Dry tone to her voice, Akimi cocked an eyebrow, "Sounds like a death ray."

Rolling his eyes, Harry shook his head, "You're not wrong, for the larger ones like I just described? If your hand enters the beam, well… say goodbye hand seeing as the point of the light would be hot enough to melt metal in only a few minutes. It's why they had special shutters that you can use to close the lenses." Then, he shrugged a little bit, "Anyways, Argentum lunae was discovered after some alchemists shortly after the Statute had the thought that if you got Orichalcum from gold and such being melted via concentrated sunlight, then what would you get if you melted silver by Moonlight?"

Very slowly, the twins nodded at this, "You got Argentum lunae."

Pointing at them, Harry smiled, "Exactly, which as it turned out was extremely magically conductive, but didn't really get used much because you needed a really large burning glass and to do so over a lunar month. Each night making use of it… which ran into issues when you had night fall and it was cloudy out."

Intrigued, Akimi hummed some, "Do you have one of these burning glasses?"

Slowly, the wizard nodded at this, "As a matter of fact, I do. It's pretty large, being on a literal carriage of sorts. With regards to the issue with clouds… well, the Vanishing Cabinets eliminate that since I can make use of them to travel around to get somewhere with no clouds covering the sky allowing for me to use it." With a shrug, he shook his head some, "Then, all I got to do is to take the Argentum lunae and turn it into wires, attaching them like muscles to the skeleton, then cover it over with the clay that Regina is going to be getting me."

Each of the others there slowly nodded as soon the conversation drifted away from that…

Meanwhile with the NoMaj, to produce hydrogen and nanomaterial for science and proof of concept and to test material for nuclear reactors and atmospheric reentry, we have this beauty of a Solar Furnace on the French side of the Pyrenees since the 1970.

then what would you get if you melted silver by Moonlight?"
This whole thing about alchemical alloys made by melting with hyper-concentrated sunlight is fascinating, but melting silver with moonlight? There has to be a significant magical element to that, as you can't heat something hotter than the surface of the object you're collecting light from, and the lunar surface can only get you up to the point of boiling water.

Sounds like the inspiration for the MonsterVerse Mothra.

Kenshō switched the W for a T...
Maybe Void, but… what can you create using Void as an element."
...and the question mark for a period.

What is Kongou's favorite kaiju? Dess-Ghidorah.

Uh... Moonlight is reflected sunlight. Ignoring that for a moment, if you take moonlight collected over, say, five hundred meters using mirrors (in the form of magical shields redirecting it into the lenses) and concentrate it to a beam that is roughly the width of your finger, and keep bouncing said beam around, it is going to get pretty damn hot.

Oh wow, you took that idea and didn't just run or sprint with it, but ripped the door off a Subaru WRC, yanked the driver out, and then took off in it....

...HR Giger is a seer, I guess?

First thought about the Burning Glass/Mirror, is that someone is gonna make an orbital, pseudo Ion Cannon out of those, or now that I think about, those Colony Lasers from Gundam, which basically take the mirror concept up to 11:

2:32 if it doesn't go there;

Second is the Caesar vs Wham(mu) from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Battle Tendency:

Harry is indeed a....smooth criminal.😎

That's an interesting image to be honest.
As one, the twins placed their faces in their hands with sighs, "Blame our Otouto."

Yes twins,explain.

Only shaking her head, Ume sighed some, "It is from a series of five paintings showing divinities banishing evil. This one is titled 'Shinchū'."

Eyebrow raising, Harry frowned slightly, "'Divine Insect'?"

Interesting lore drop here. I've never heard of it.

It was the temporal rift they were seeing through wasn't it?

That's some nasty xenomorph style shit right there.
More then probable Harry.

I'm sure they're still around secretly protecting people.

Hey! These must be the evil creatures they were discussing moments ago!

One of them lashed out, a spell on its hand… Only to become horrified when the woman simply opened her mouth and sucked said spell in.
Now that's a flex move! Just like Nels move from Bleach.
Then, swallowing, the woman simply smiled at them, "Ah… that was quite the nice appetizer, I will admit… but not for the main course…" Panicking, the two creatures began to struggle more, but it was of not use. We're getting names here! I assume she drained them of their life force?
With that, the two walked off, not noticing as their former sensei walked past a broken mirror and showing two moth-like wings on her back as two strands of hair came up like antenna…
She's a Shinchu isn't she?
Lightly chuckling, Harry nodded with a smile on his face, "Dess! It basically translates as 'Silver of the Moon' or 'Silver of Moonlight' and is a special form of alchemically produced silver."
Let me guess. It uses moonlight.
Dry tone to her voice, Akimi cocked an eyebrow, "Sounds like a death ray."
Pretty much is Akimi.

"{Wait, wait… let me understand this straight… From what you are telling me, the previous transfigurations you've done… or transmutations really in this case, get actually encoded into the Goa Stones that you created and have been making use of for the Draconifors spell? Thus, the next time that you make use of the spell, you don't actually have to do anything only cast the spell and visualize the most basic image of these Kobolds for them to come into being?}"

Leaning back in his chair, Harry glanced at the screen of his laptop, showing "Steelhead" as the person speaking. Moving the pocky stick in his lips, the teen slowly nodded, "Got it in one, Steelhead."

Briefly, the teen considered the person on the other end of the online call. The guy had popped into one of his threads on the restricted section of the site. In particular the one dealing with magical conductivity of shipgirl and Abyssal steel as well as other metals. Steelhead had been obviously torn between extreme interest in what the teenage wizard had found out, as well as concerned with how he had sourced his materials.

Akashi, who had been online and on the thread at the time explained that when repairing rigging, there was often little bits of metal left over, shavings, chips, and the like. In other words, swarf, which they would have just recycled. However, both the Repair Ship and wizard had been interested in what effects it had regarding magic and had done some experiments in things like magical conductivity. With that, Steelhead had apparently been more than a little relieved and promptly started to ask questions.

Of course, being who he was, Harry had quietly used his abilities as a staff to find out about "Steelhead". Especially with the questions he was asking about things on some of the sections after a search of his posting history. After all, the guy had just appeared in the Restricted section and was neither a shipgirl nor a relative. Hence wanting to be a bit careful.

Much to his surprise, it had been the shipgirl, Rebecca Lukens who was a fellow SuperMod who represented her fellow US Army shipgirls on the staff. Being that there wasn't much need for her to be repairing aircraft like P-51 Mustangs anymore on far flung atolls, she was on the site pretty often, hence her position. It also helped with keeping the "Army Girls" under some control.

Questioning her and explaining why, Harry had further found out that "Steelhead" had been recommended by a Tugboat girl, Pacific Escort I, who had spent much of her service in the US Army but later transferred to the USN where she did various duties, including oceanographic. Rebecca did admit that she knew some stuff regarding Steelhead but couldn't say much more than she already had and that he could be trusted with the Restricted section.

It went without saying that had relaxed the teenage wizard and he began at first answering questions from the poster. Later on, the two began passing back ideas and information, though Steelhead had bitched about how he couldn't talk about some things. Though, he did admit that at least some of why he was asking regarding shipgirl metal was because his fiancée did work with prosthetics on the magical side and he was thinking it could be of use there. Especially with how magically conductive said material seemed to be (he also admitted that he hoped that his fiancée could also make him a leg with such). He had been especially interested in how Harry had a ring using shipgirl steel and Abyssal steel that helped him channel magic wandlessly, though it also had a core of sorts.

Both of them, it seemed, were of the sort to do things when bored that caused hands to meet faces, which also helped.

Harry's attention came back to the current conversation as Steelhead spoke up, "{You've tested this obviously?}"

Lightly snorting, Harry crossed his arms over his chest, "Of course. I had a control group of normal stones. Some were sedimentary, some igneous, both extrusive and intrusive, as well as metamorphic. Even made use of man-made ones like cement and concrete among others and normal Goa stones. In each case, it was like I was starting the Draconifors spell from the very beginning and all I could really get out was Kobolds from several iterations ago with the amount that I had to visualize."

Murmuring some, he could almost imagine the other young man furrowing his eyebrows and frowning, "{I wonder which aspect of it that you are doing is causing this. Is it that your Goa stones are making use of almost entirely draconic elements, which would make the Draconifors spell easier? As if you were already starting out with draconic DNA and simply changing it to another, related form that allows for the previous iterations to be preserved? Maybe it has to do with your Alchemical furnace? What with a salamander not just being present, but using coal from shipgirls to burn in it?"

With a hum, Harry frowned a little bit, "There's a number of variables there honestly. At least we've eliminated the possibility that it came from casting the same transfiguration spell on the same stone over and over."

Snort coming from him, Steelhead laughed a bit, "{True enough, but that is science, even if it involves magic. You can still use the scientific process.}"

Clearing his throat, the teenage wizard cocked an eyebrow even as he knew that the other man couldn't see it, "Speaking of my Alchemical furnace… you made mention of wanting to build one of your own that's similar? How is that going?"

There was silence for nearly a minute before Steelhead grumbled, "{Not so good… that black-haired smug bastard somehow caught wind and stopped me. Pretty sure that my little brother told him… but I will make one of my own! Just you watch!}"

Unable to help himself, Harry just chuckled and shook his head before continuing to chat with the other man.

Eventually, the call came to an end and the teen settled down with a yawn in his futon and soon fell asleep. Partway through the night, however, his eyebrows began to furrow as he felt a bit chilly. Grumbling some, he woke up a little only to blink as he heard the door to his room open, "Mmm… Hoppou? Or Nagato-Chan? What is it?"

However, turning his head, he found that it was neither, but what looked like a husky of all things. One that then grinned showing human-like teeth in its mouth. Each time Harry blinked, it got closer and closer until it was on his bed…

At which point, he grabbed his sheets and promptly wrapped the struggling canine up in it.

Dragging it out of his room, with it hitting the doorframe and him muttering some apologies, Harry came to the door to his adoptive mother's room and knocked. After a few times, a sleepy voice came from inside, "Hmm? Wha… what is it?"

Just opening the door, Harry also yawned some before looking at his adoptive mother there in her own futon, "Sorry about this, Mum… I think someone's dog somehow got into the apartment. Woke up with it in my room, mind if I leave it with you??"

Yawn breaking free, Nagato only nodded, "Sure, honey."

Ignoring the struggling form in the blanket, the wizard gently dropped it in the room before closing the door behind him, "See you in the morning, Mum."

He did pause after closing the door as he heard Nagato inside softly sqee, "Aw… aren't you a little cutie! Yes, you are! Yes, you are!"

Oddly, there was something between a normal husky yowling and that of a human one with something beneath it that was darker, but then he shrugged and went back to his room with his half-asleep mind bringing something up, 'Huh… almost looks like that dog in the weird email I got…'

Later, after dawn had come and the apartment slowly woke up, Nagato came out with a yawn before smiling at the sight of Harry cooking breakfast, "Good morning, Harry."

Bright smile on his face, Harry turned and gave a small laugh as he nodded, "And a good morning to you as well, Mum. Making some chocolate chunk pancakes as well as bacon and eggs."

Kissing him on the top of his head as she passed, the Battleship smiled, "Thank you, Harry, sounds wonderful." Pouring herself a coffee, she took a moment to simply take in everything. How Hoppou, Seiko, and Nagato-Chan were at the table helping to set it up as well as Harry himself cooking breakfast for all of them. That last bit caused a twinge in Nagato's mind and she furrowed her eyebrows as she took a sip of coffee and then hummed, "Harry?"

Hum escaping from him, Harry turned to look at her, "Hai, Mum? What is it?"

Frown on her face as her eyebrows continued to furrow, Nagato shook her head, "Did… you come into my room last night with a dog of some sort?"

Pausing, the teen considered the question before slowly nodding, "Hai… I think that I did."

Meanwhile, Hoppou perked up a little bit, "Doggy?"

Giving her a small smile, Nagato nodded, "A husky of some sort, your brother said it snuck into his room." She then frowned again and furrowed her eyebrows as she looked at her room, "I was cuddling and hugging it last night when I feel back asleep… but it was gone when I woke up. Did any of you let it out?"

Each of her kids looked at one another in complete confusion before shaking their heads.

Still frowning, Nagato shook her head some as well, "Odd, wonder what happened to it… maybe that odd sulfur smell I woke up to scared it off?" Then, she shrugged it off some, "No matter, I'll just have to check around."

That just got her nods from the rest of her family and soon they were all seated down around the table once more. As they all began to dig in, Seiko turned towards Harry with a small, grumpy frown, "Does Big Brother have something today?"

Only nodding a little and patting her head as Hoppou told her to stop being so grumpy, Harry chuckled, "Hai, I got a few things to do, though I'll definitely be finding time to spend some with you later." Shrugging, he shook his head some, "After breakfast, I'm heading over Kongou-Oba's, Haruna-Oba's, and Aunt Rose's apartment."

Swallowing the large bite of pancake in her mouth, Hoppou washed it down with hot chocolate before tilting her head, "Is Big Brother going to see Haruna's and Rose's little babies? Hoppou finds them very cute and can't wait for them to be big enough to join Hoppou in playing, Po!"

Unable to help himself, the teenage wizard laughed a little bit as he gave a small nod, "Well, I am definitely going to see Sumire and her little sisters. But… I am thinking of something else."

Eyebrow raised as she sipped her coffee to wash down some of her food, Nagato hummed some, "Oh? What are you thinking of, Harry?"

With a small shrug, Harry rubbed the back of his neck as he smiled a little, "Well… I know that even with Haruna-Oba on maternity leave to help Aunt Rose out, they could use some more help. Especially in Aunt Rose's café. So, I was thinking of lending them some of my Kobolds to help out."

Blush rising in her cheeks at the memories of the little creatures, the Battleship chewed her lip, 'So cute…'

Glancing at their mother, Nagato-Chan shook her head a little bit before turning back to Harry with an interested look on her face, "You'll be lending her some of your Kobolds, Nii-San?"

Hum escaping from him as he took a drink of his tea, Harry smiled, "As a matter of fact, yes. I figure that they could take some of the weight off of Aunt Rose's shoulders. Worst case? She just uses one or two to keep an eye on hers and Haruna-Oba's babies. Though, she could probably make use of them doing stuff like cleaning around the café and such. Simple stuff that makes her life easier."

Considering look on her face, Nagato rubbed her chin some in thought before raising an eyebrow, "How long do they last then?"

Just shrugging, the teenage wizard shook his head some, "Well, I've managed to get them up to about forty-eight hours or so before they turn back into Goa stones, which is actually kind of impressive. Then, I just need to have the stones back in order to transfigure them back into Kobolds again. And while their digestive system isn't fully functional? They can at least drink and such, with an implanted command to go to the washroom as they need it."

Frown on er face, Nagato-Chan tilted her head a little bit, "What about food though?"

At that, Harry frowned some in thought before rubbing the back of his neck, "I… think that they can handle simple foods to an extent? They definitely can eat food from a shipgirl's stores though, so that's covered some." He then shrugged some and shook his head, "I just want to make things a bit easier for Aunt Rose with them."

Softly smiling, the Battleship reached over and placed a hand on his shoulder, a happy look on her face, "I don't think that either Rose-San nor Haruna-San would mind too much with them. And scuttlebutt has had it where she has need of more help due to how much more popular her café is slowly becoming. Especially with how she also provides food and drink to those shipgirls currently laid up in the Repair Docks as well."

Happy smile on his face, Harry gave a nod to that, "That's what I am hoping for, Mum."

Meanwhile, Hoppou practically inhaled another one of her pancakes before swallowing, "And then what are you going to be doing, Big Brother?"

Blinking for a moment, the fourteen-year-old considered the question before slowly nodding, "Honestly? I am thinking of going over to the Submarine Pens. Some of them should be back from their patrols pretty soon, so I'll be doing some baking and the like. Depending on things, I might also make them a hot meal." Then, he gave a shrug as he continued, "Also going to be getting some cleaning done as well since I think it has been a bit. And with the Urds, I can have them clean up near the ceiling."

Very slowly, Nagato nodded at that with a smile on her face, "I think that they would like that a lot, Harry. And it would be very nice for them to come home to a nice clean living space as well."

If anything, that made the smile on Harry's face grow all the more, "Thanks, Mum."

Reaching over, the Battleship ruffled his hair some to a chuckle, "You're very welcome, Honey."

Then, the wizard gave a small hum as he considered things, "After I get done with that… not quite sure, though I am going to be using my time turner at some point and heading back to Britain."

Confused, Nagato-Chan blinked at that and then tilted her head some, "Why would you be heading back to Britain, Nii-San? Is there something that you need to get done there?"

Lightly chuckling a little bit at that, Harry slowly shook his head some, "Actually, I am going back to Britain in order to meet up with some of my Aunts." Pausing for a moment or two, he hummed and rubbed his chin in some thought, "Depending on things… we also might make a quick trip to Hogsmeade for whatever that they might have a need for. Especially due to some… plans… myself and one of them are cooking up."

Very slowly, Nagato raised an eyebrow, her "Mom senses" going off, "What sort of plans, Harry?"

Not meeting her gaze, the wizard coughed a little bit as he tried to look innocent, "Oh, nothing much, Mum. Just… something that we're going to be doing as a bit of a bonding situation, that's all, nothing else."

Utterly and completely sure that something was going to happen, Nagato sighed a little bit and then pinched the bridge of her nose, "… Please do not do anything to get in trouble, Harry."

Only blinking a little bit, Harry cocked his head to the side as he gave her a wide-eyed innocent look, "I'm not sure what you mean, Mum. Promise, I am not going to be doing anything to get in trouble…" Internally, he continued, 'Or at least if we're not caught doing it, anyways…'

Evenly looking at him, the Battleship only slowly raised her eyebrow as he squirmed some in his seat before humming, "I'm sure." Meanwhile, inside of her mind, she sighed a little bit and mentally shook her head, 'As long as it is nothing too bad, I suppose. At least he is not too bored nowadays, so there is that.'

Granted, that was soon followed by both Hoppou and Seiko asking him to bring them back some treats, which he promised to do, and the same for Nagato-Chan when she shyly asked as well.

After breakfast was done and they had all cleaned everything up (which was mostly Nagato, Nagato-Chan, and Hoppou doing the dishes as Harry had cooked), they all went their own separate ways for the day. Nagato and Nagato-Chan both headed to their respective offices to start on the day's work, one of them much less enthusiastic about it than the other to some amusement from the rest of the family. Meanwhile, Hoppou and Seiko both took off for the Ono household to spend the day playing with Rei and Asuka, the twin Kitsune kits. Not to mention likely dragging some of the other children on the base into their fun and games.

For his part, Harry took the former dice bags that he now made use of for the Goa stones that he made use of for the Kobolds and left the apartment as he headed towards the apartment that Rose and Haruna shared with Kongou.

These are both clearly references to something or somethings, but I have no idea what...
