...And yet, as I understand, Hibiki's operating off the Gugnir fragments that heartshotted her back in Episode one.
Which presumably lacks said techbits.
I have a feeling this'll end up plot-relevant, won't it?
Well, without spoilers, there is the fact that the fragments inside her came from a Symphogear that was in the middle of being used, and there's that whole thing about the fragments fusing to her heart and spreading. Those X-rays do not look nice at all!

Episode 8
Both Hibiki and Miku seem just as torn up about this as eachother. Now back to Chris fleeing for her life from Noise.
And who else finds her collapsed from exhaustion but Miku?
I don't think I've mentioned it yet, but I like that, as with the background songs, there's several points in the OP where it's literally being sung.
NERV managed to detect Chris's fights there, but she seems to have vanished, presumably with Miku.
Speaking of her, she hasn't turned up at school, and the other trio have come to apologise for sparking the mess.
"If this were an anime, what would we do?" Fourth Wall Damage: 5%
Back home, seems Chris is awake. And stands up in shock once she realises Miku put some of her clothes on her. Unfortunately, she lacks underwear.
Looks like she'll be wrapped in blankets until her clothes dry. Is that woman the one from the 'pancake' shop, or am I thinking of someone else?
Miku's discussing her side with Chris. Well, for a given value of "Discuss".
Meanwhile, Hibiki's discussing with Bluewing. They look weird in the initial distance shot.
The "Be yourself" aesop's back. Meanwhile, I suspect this "Swan Songs can be used for more than destruction" is going to be relevant to Chris.
And we finally get more of Hibiki's backstory. "Kids being dragged around in chains" is never a good sign.
Chris continues to be an advocate of the [X]Punch Eachother school of friendship.
Miku wants to be friends. Chris refuses on account of Episode 6. CUE THE SIRENS!
Yep. I think this is another attempt to kill Chris.
Seeing a child fleeing seems to have triggered her; instead of fleeing with everyone else, she's running off to face the Noise.
Wait, no, it's a full breakdown about a number of the attacks being her fault.
She goes to transform, but she's still injured. The noise are about to hit her-
[COMMANDER INTERRUPT]. He just punched up the ground into a shield. Commander continues to be awesome.
Chris is just as amazed as-did he just leap onto a building with her?! Why can't we give this guy a Symphogear?:p
This buys her enough time to transform. Eat dakka, Noise-Wait, does Commander have history with her?
Damnit subs, you've had an episode, Chris's backing still isn't subbed!
Meanwhile, Hibiki's literally fallen onto Miku. The Kraken-Noise responds to loud sounds, so they're stuck being quiet.
Lots of silent typing. Wonder what it's building up to.
GODDAMNIT MIKU. THE NOISE CAN ONESHOT YOU, AND YOU'RE NOT COMMANDER. DON'T DRAW AWAY THE KRAKEN.
Wait, she had an actual plan?!
And today's second returning aesop is the "You're not in it alone" one.
DYNAMIC ENTRY PUNCH to save Miku. Hibiki's current song seems to be about both of us. Also got reminded about how Hibiki means "Echo".
And with that aesop hammered in again, Hibiki and Miku finally make up.

[COMMANDER INTERRUPT]. He just punched up the ground into a shield. Commander continues to be awesome.
Chris is just as amazed as-did he just leap onto a building with her?! Why can't we give this guy a Symphogear?:p
Told you that your first mention of him being awesome was a huge understatement, now you're beginning to understand :V

As for Chris' songs, all of them are about destruction, dakka, or both.

[COMMANDER INTERRUPT]. He just punched up the ground into a shield. Commander continues to be awesome.
Genjuro is best girl.

Chris is just as amazed as-did he just leap onto a building with her?! Why can't we give this guy a Symphogear?:p
Well, we don't want him to completely outshine everyone, right?
:V

GODDAMNIT MIKU. THE NOISE CAN ONESHOT YOU, AND YOU'RE NOT COMMANDER.
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Yeah, the commander and a few of the other operatives appear to have come prepared for being the protagonists of a ridiculous over the top kung fu movie. Sadly they're ill equipped for dealing with the Noise effectively so instead we get a magical girl show.

It does however give us the baffling scenario of a yuribait show in which all the major male characters are universally adored :V

Episode 9
Oh hey, it's a Zwei Wing flashback. They're apparently building a motorbike.
Apparently, this is before Zwei Wing started on concerts.
CT scan. Seems Blue Wing's now fully healed in the present.
Miku's getting a tour of NERV after Commander pulled strings...but Commander's currently not there. I smell plot.
We apparently took a sudden left turn into love comedy. SciLady's clamming up about how she got into researching relics, but it apparently involves love.
And apparently that little outburst was really not like SciLady. Odd...
Commander's apparently out in the rain, tracking down Chris to offer his help. Meanwhile, Hibiki asks Bluewing on a date. I believe someone was commenting on yuribait?
He brings food, the universal currency to bribe kids and teens. It seems to work.
Finally, Chris's backstory! Her parents, a violinist and singer, were helping out a NGO in a third-world country when they got killed in the crossfire. Chris also vanished; I think I can work out things from there. "Child slavery" things.
Wait, no, she got rescued. Commander was going to take care of her. Commander continues to be best.
Unfortunately, she vanished the moment she was in Japan. I suspect that's Fine's fault.
NERV tried to investigate. Everyone involved died or vanished. That's Fine.
Unfortunately, Commander's offer of help just results in her somersaulting out the window and going Symphogear to escape. Damnit.
Apparently, we switched from Bluewing needing therapy to Chris needing it. TIME TO SWITCH TO THE DATE.
Hibiki was late. Bluewing engages the Tsun Drive.
Montage time. Apparently, Suppaman is on at the cinema.
The attempt at the crane booth...didn't go well. Karaoke time.
And with the date over, we've shown how Bluewing no longer needs therapy. Now, we have ten days until the inevitable festival attack.
Oh dear. It's at the exact same place as Episode One. The attack just got guaranteed.
Oh dear. Pushy music producer. After he got rejected, he came to negotiate directly.
Luckily, he's content to wait. On the other hand, festival-and consequental attack-here now.
To the surprise of noone: Noise attack. Hibiki's turning down the concert to hold them off alone. Trap senses tingling.
Of course. Another ambush at Chris.
She's about to get taken out, before HIBIKI INTERRUPT. Hibiki proceeds to Clock Up and clear out the mooks.
Seems the two Symphogear users are tag teaming these Noise. Mostly Hibiki, occasional supporting fire from Chris.
Concert's over, Bluewing's rediscovered her passion for singing, and she's apparently accepting the overseas offer.
And finally, Chris still hasn't realised the others aren't her enemy.

Chris also vanished; I think I can work out things from there. "Child slavery" things.
Wait, no, she got rescued. Commander was going to take care of her. Commander continues to be best.

Yeah, despite all the fun absurdity running around, characters do not have happy backstories.

Episode 10
Wait, why are soldiers attacking Fine's HQ?!
And SciLady is in it. That explains Episode 7's monolouge. She's the mole.
And what's probably the Americans proceeds to shoot Scilady dead. She apparently is no longer of use now they have the research data.
WAIT WHAT'S WITH THE VEINS. IS SHE REGENERATING? Americans confirmed though.
And the screen's painted red as the opening starts.
Wait, was that violin in Chris's part of the opening always there?
Invasion flags are being tripped for the school. Meanwhile, Chris runs into Fine's HQ to find that the invading Americans have been slaughtered.
And in comes Commander with some agents! Who leave Chris alone, they're not here for her.
It's a trap! The whole place was rigged to blow!
...How the hell did Commander block that?! And everyone survived the explosion!
He neutralised the explosion. With a martial arts technique. What.
Chris hates her parents and their 'naive optimism'. She continues to need therapy.
Today's aesop: Don't give up on all those crazy dreams; make them real.
And Chris finally lets out that pent-up emotion after that talk with Commander.
Chris isn't coming with Commander because she still hasn't got the concept of a Face Heel Turn into her head. Nevertheless, Commander gives her his communicator. He's still awesome.
Shit. Fine has another completed relic. Kadingir isn't getting anything on Wikipedia, though.
Back at base, Hibiki finally reveals SciLady's AT Field. It's apparently equivalent to the Commander's awesomeness.
Commander's suspicious. For good reason. We do get an explanation on Kadingr: Sumerian word that refers to a divine existence. In this case, a tower reaching to the heavens.
Apparently, Hibiki and Miku had as much success with Googling as I had.
And cue the Giant Noise Attack. Where they're not actually attacking. I smell a distraction.
I think NERV covered up their base via the shelter beneath the school.
Of course. The giant monsters beeline for Tokyo Tower. Well, Sky Tower, but same principle.
NERV is speculating that it's also Kadingr. It keeps their communications up. Commander's with me in spotting the trap, though.
Ah, they're Noise carriers. Here's the horde of mooks for the Symphogears to mow through.
Hibiki punches straight through one carrier, while Bluewing swordbeams another. But they can't fly, and therefore can't hit the flying Noise.
SO IN COMES CHRIS TO DISTRIBUTE DAKKA.
"It's not like I wanted to come help you out or anything!" The Tsundere levels are going off the charts!
Finally! The backing for Chris is subbed! I see what you lot mean about it being, to quote, about blowing everything to pieces.
Chris and Bluewing bump into eachother, and she goes on the "We're still enemies" spiel. Luckily, Hibiki's here to interrupt with BE FRIENDS DAMNIT.
Sorry, but the Noise are here to interrupt befriending.
Chris's plan to deal with everything: Have Bluewing and Hibiki defend her while she engages in DBZ grunting, then take them all out with the stored power.
ALL THE DAKKA! This new song's a lot more positive than the previous one, but it's still about blowing everything up.
Yep. Noise are attacking the school. This was all a distraction. And Miku got cut off mid-call.

...How the hell did Commander block that?! And everyone survived the explosion!
He neutralised the explosion. With a martial arts technique. What.

Half of the show seemed to run on Rule of Cool, don't question everything much.
Wait until you see Jesus Ninja and LAST ACTION HERO:rofl:

Considering how many Evangelion references you've made in your reactions, I'm surprised that there hasn't been any contrasting yet of how opposite Genjuro is from Gendo.

I also refrained from calling Durandal anything like Lillith or the Lance of Longinus. Mainly because I react live as I'm watching.
(Currently about halfway through Episode 11.)

BTW, @Grue, remember to watch the shorts/OVAs for the series as well. They provided some pretty funny scenes, running gags and even some details about the character lives.
And try checking this out
Symphogear Keyword Compendium
It's the translation of some of the keywords from the anime site that gives more info about world building and lore.

I was going to bring that up later. Season 1 doesn't have any OVAs, although the first season 2 OVA covers the time skip between seasons.

Like I said, ridiculous over the top kung fu anime. He may also have hit supreme Mountain Hobo levels off of kung fu movies somehow.

Episode 11
The army is holding the line for the students to evacuate as the school's attacked. Fourth Wall Damage is also up to 6%.
And the trio proceed to see a soldier get impaled by Noise in front of them. Trauma for everyone!
And cut from screaming in terror to the somewhat upbeat opening!
Meanwhile, Chris has officially joined the "Naked in space with Ghost Redwing" section of the opening.
The Noise are here to kill Miku-
-[MANAGER INTERRUPT]. Thank goodness.
Phew. They got in the elevator to NERV in time.
They've discovered Kadingr. It's presumably here, but there's no visible towers. Does NERV have it?
Before they can relay the info, they're attacked by something. Miku is cut off again.
And Fine shows her face in full Gil-regalia.
...Terminal Dogma is Kadingr. That explains the random color. Probably.
Unfortunately for Manager, Fine is bulletproof.
Miku elbows her. The only reason she drops Manager is because that shifted her interest.
Fine continues to remind me of Fate!Gilgamesh at his worst.
Apparently, NERV's built under the academy to gather data on songs. Gilgafine is trying to break Miku. Fuck you Fine.
And Miku still being on NERV's side after that revelation seems to have kicked Fine right in her ego. She's getting more Gilgamesh-ey by the second.
Manager is apparently trying to catch up to Commander's awesomeness. He's going to delay Fine getting to the sword if it costs him his life.
[COMMANDER INTERRUPT] . Via the roof. Calling Fine the Science Lady. That would explain the AT field a bit better.
...Why is half of Fine showing the Anti-Sora effect in that shot?
And it turns out the Americans were baiting her! It's now time for Fine VS Commander in the match of the century!
Gilgamesh intensifies as the fight starts!
DID COMMANDER JUST CRACK THE ARMOUR BY MISSING?!
HE CAUGHT THE WHIPS. AND USED THEM TO DELIVER A DEVASTATING PUNCH TO HER!
Fine goes for the Noise Gunner. Commander launches debry to stop that notion.
...And she resorts to switching voices to SciLady. That is a dirty trick, but it worked to stab him somewhere with blood.
...Blood from the mouth. FUCK YOU FINE.
And having severely injured the Commander, she goes back into Gilgamesh mode. "Fate" only appears to matter when she isn't losing.
Oh dear. Gilgamesh got the Excaliblast sword. I doubt this is good.
And we finally got the reason for the cutoff: Fine cut off the power.
WHY IS THE MOON RED? Anyway, Symphogears arrive at the wrecked school.
And Fine/Scilady is here as well. She apparently can transform between the two forms.
Meanwhile, despite being played like a damn fiddle, Commander still holds hope for SciLady.
Fine's apparently tied herself to her bloodline. Should anyone with her bloodline encounter certian things, she assumes direct control.
Oh dear. Bluewing accidentally activated an Artifact as a kid, and Scilady got eaten by the ancient Fine.
This isn't the first time Fine's fucked someone over like this. And more arrogance in calling Symphogear a toy. That's gonna bite her in the ass later.
And so, Kagnir is revealed to be a hugeass energy cannon. That's gonna blow up the Moon.
Wait, is Kagnir supposed to be a replica of the Tower of Babel?!
And apparently, the Moon is why everyone's not speaking the First Universal Language. She didn't take God's rejection well.
Chris causes more Gilgamesh to come out of her. I'm expecting that arrogance is going to backfire shortly.
It's henshin time for everyone! Unfortunately, the songs are unsubbed. Again.
The remaining members of NERV have met up with the Trio and got a feed of the ongoing fight. Yes, this is an anime. Damage 7%.
Nice teamwork from the Symphogears. Chris creates cover, Bluewing distracts Fine, and Hibiki uses the opening to punch.
And that was all a distraction to try to take out the tower-WAIT WHY IS CHRIS ON A ROCKET?
Oh. She's using her Swansong to stop the cannon firing. Fine's face: NOT AS KEIKAKU.
...I think I recognise those diamonds from somewhere in Gundam Build Fighters. Either way, a butterfly forms behind her as she goes beam-to-beam with Kagnir.
It's not enough to stop the beam, but it was enough to stop the Moon being completely blown up. Instead, we lost a chunk of it.
...Rest in peace, Chris Yukine. Even if you do survive like Bluewing did. Which, given I've seen the shuttle scene from a future series, you probably will.
