Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Hey! We (mostly) succeeded in turning the black court and let something worse loose.

I think we should get points for achieving what we were trying to do, unlike the mad scientists who fail and still blow things up anyway. :V
It's like being a doctor, when someone comes into your hospital with a severely infected ingrown toenail. You do your job and take care of the infection through the simple expedient of amputating the foot.

Those grow back, right?

Nah, it's very much "we treated cancer with Staphylococcus". Which, funnily enough, is a real thing dating back to 19th century that may actually sometimes work (wiki says it doesn't, but at least some research supports it or things related to it). If it doesn't kill you.

[X] Explain what he knows, there's worse people to bring in than her
-[X] Harry didn't have anything to do with it, but he has second hand knowledge of what happened
-[X] Molly has subverted the Black Court, they are likely to become less universally hostile soon. The situation is ongoing
-[X] Something might have been unleashed in the process.

Again, my worry is an abyssal on a roaring rampage of revenge

Do we need to tell her that much? Anything we say can be used against us and can't be taken back. A more general warning like "something bad is loose and it's drawn to murder. It's a big world so maybe you'll be fine, but wise people would avoid taking human life at all until the situation is under control".

Sharing that we've subverted the blamps before we actually manage to stick the landing risks everything from interference to active blame for what they do before we've actually changed them.

Wait, what?

How did the things we did affect the Black Court and why do we think they'll become any friendlier in the near future?
We dug a bit into their origin, helped an ancient necromantic superweapon see the sun, but that was it so far.

This ancient superweapon is the source of vampires on a conceptual level. And by influencing it, we influence them.

Blamps are not actually independent entities. Not fully. They are extensions / drones of LoV. By subverting LoV we subvert them.

Yes, but we haven't really done much yet. He took our deal and that shifted the scales a little, but we don't know what that means for blamps yet or how much more work might be needed to really impact them.
IC we don't know that.

Then there isn't any benefit to telling her about them. We can't influence her to stop doing things that will make them show up, just make her better prepared to exploit the situation.

What benefit do we get out of telling her about this? Cause if the Abyssal involved is evil killing a bunch of whamps to avenge shit they almost certainly actually did just helps us find and kill them. If they're somehow salvageable then a rampage still helps us find them and avoids presenting openings for the white court to work with in our absence.

Whamps aren't in general evil, but I don't really give a shit about the deaths of White Court officers doing shady enough stuff to interest an Abyssal exaltation.

I mean, even if we did shift something about the nature of Blampires, keep in mind the majority of surviving Black Courts are not some fresh vamps having to deal with the urge to drink blood.
These are mostly old monsters who have left any semblance of humanity far behind.

They don't stop being dangerous for any reason.

I don't know. Blampires don't have agency, they are basically supposed to be magic running human.exe right? In that case changing LoV should be like having someone recode the magic running the program?

The likeliest scenario for an abyssal exaltation is a whampire initiation. Ie a fresh whamp sucking someone dry.

The issue with a rampage is that White Court are our if not outright allies, then someone we have generally positive relationship with. I don't want to be tainted by association.

Blampires are not their original selves. Not even in the sense rhampires might be. From the moment you become a blampire, you aren't fighting to avoid becoming a monster. A monster takes your place.

I'm pretty confused by this. Based on past post nobody here likes them, and all we have with them is a treaty not to actively recruit Whampires. We don't really call on Lara for anything... How are they even going to draw a connection between new Abyssals and Molly if we don't go telling them? If we don't want to be tainted by association we shouldn't tell them we had anything to do with it.

We don't know enough to actually stop that from happening. If anything a warning will just make us look even more aligned with the whamps than we actually are.

Our agreement is essentially to not murder each other in the streets. We can recruit just fine.

[X] Stonewall her, he hadn't even gotten in touch with the Senior Council, the last thing anyone needed was the White Court jumping in on this.
-[X] Explain that Molly did something. Probably. Actually, he's not sure either. But it's definitely Molly.
-[X] Tell Lara to stop yelling at him. He still needs to yell at Molly. She can join in the bloody queue.

Universal phenomenon. People in the know freaking out. I'm just loving this chapter.

This is the most in-character option.
