[25] Discover more about yourself
"I should probably figure some stuff out before I do anything." You say with a grimace.
"Oh?" Urahara flaps his fan absently. "Perhaps where you're going to sleep at night?"
"No. Yes." You backtrack. "Do I even sleep?"
Urahara shrugs.
Ururu shrugs.
The well-muscled man with a mustache sweeping the floor shrugs. When'd he get up here anyway and where does he get off sneaking around like that? You've got your eye on him.
"Whatever. Anyway it's a real drag having to think about that kind of thing, but it's like I need to put down a down payment or something to avoid paying more later." You explain, more trying to convince yourself than anyone else. "I mean I know I'm a spiritual being, but shinigami eat, so maybe I do too?"
You don't say that you may need to eat somebody's ghost, despite the thought being oddly appetizing. That's the kind of thing that would be stupid to say in front of a shinigami like the hat wearing eccentric.
Urahara nods knowingly. "All spiritually powerful souls need to eat. Normally I would offer you a good rate on an affordable gigai, but . . . well if you do sleep, feel free to just . . . drop on by my humble shop. It will take me seven days to finish the door to Soul Society and I'll be quite busy with that, but if you want to join in with Ichigo and his friends to rescue Kuchiki, I'm sure they wouldn't mind the help."
You . . .
"I thought you were only going to bother me with one more question, huh?!" You snap, pushing open the door and stepping out into the night air. "I'm out."
You solidify the air beneath your feet, leaping up in skyward bounds until Karakura lies below you and the lights twinkle like pinpricks in a sheet held up to the light. Or like fucking light bulbs seen from a distance. Idly swinging your zankaputo, you're again reminded of your earlier thought. Does this sword have Zangetsu inside of it too, or does it just look the same?
"This is entirely too much goddamn introspection." You swear, and leap downwards toward the old train station on the edge of town. It's not someplace that you've gone more than once or twice, but both times it seemed pretty deserted and you don't want to put up with humans yapping on their phones or something, even if they can't see you.
And really killing them would just get Urahara all over you, so the easy way's out. Best to just avoid the irritation for now.
Right. Meditation.
Time to find out what's in your inner world.
You close your eyes and slip inwards easily, letting the rough roof of the train station fall away and be replaced by the familiar sight of skyscrapers. It looks just like Ichigo's inner world.
. . . Complete with a color-inverted version of him staring at you, sword drawn.
"You."
[] Attack him!
[] Try to reason with him.
[] Try to figure out what this even means.
