Part I: Thief.
[X] Plan Quiet Living
-[X] very expensive golden ring.
-[X]Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Ghoul Crimes are High, Anti-Ghoul Police Measures are Low)
-[X]Doctor (You're following in your mother's footsteps)
-[X]Phlegmatic: Practical and careful. Generally Very Serious
-[X] AMBITION: Repayment (Your mother took great pains to keep you safe and happy, and that's something you took to heart. Though you're a ghoul, somehow she's willing to take on that burden and so you've learned to accept that this is your life. It's difficult, but as a ghoul, you're going to keep out of notice, take pains to live a life worth living, and leave a positive impact on the world as to properly use up the life you've been given.)
-[X] Small Appetite (Most Ghouls need to eat a large meal at least once a month, you can go twice that.)
-[X] Intelligent (You've always been one of the brightest kids in Class. +5 to intelligence rolls)
-[X]Friend on the Force (A family friend works on the police force. It wouldn't be too hard to find out about the latest tactics and equipment they're using against ghouls.)
-[X] Loner (Outside of your mother, there's no one close to you in your life. No friends. Incompatible with Circle of Friends
-[X] Enemy of your Mother (Unknown to you, your mother has pissed off a local ghoul. This may prove problematic in the future)
/

Traits Gained:
Intelligent: +5 to intelligence rolls
Medical Student: Detailed knowledge of the human body. +10 to any medicine rolls.

Classes ran late on Thursdays. By the time you left the university it was dusk. Most traveled home by car, train or bus, the few who walked home tended to walk in groups. Even on the Northside people didn't feel safe at night anymore. It hadn't always been like this, Pittsburgh didn't have many ghoul related crimes for most of your life, at least few reported ones. That changed a few years ago, an influx of ghouls sneaking in from places that had become too protected like Boston and New York if the rumors were to be believed. The number of ghoul related deaths doubled, then quadrupled over the course of two years. The police pushed back, to no result save for far too many police funerals. While no one ever said anything official, it was obvious to most that the Ghouls had overwhelmed them. It would be an exaggeration to say ghouls controlled the city, a gross exaggeration to be sure, but it made the nights, and days in many parts of the city, rather dangerous for most people.

In some dark part of your mind you realize that if weren't for your mother, you would probably be one of those terrors in the night, preying on the weak and helpless.

You didn't hate being a Ghoul. Hating something you could not possibly change always struck you as useless. It had it's upsides to be sure, along with many downsides. Your life would never be straight forward because of it but that made you value what you had all the more.

You'd never met another ghoul. You'd seen them. Hiding in plain sight, the only way you noticed them was by scent. But you never said two words to any of them. It was for the better, you had no desire to be part of that life. You had a promising education, a home, a secure supply of food and bright future ahead of you. All thanks to your mother.

You never understood why Rebecca took you in. She had no responsibility to protect you, indeed by federal law she should have just either left you there on the side of the road or turned you over to the police. Yet she took you in, and gave you a life better than any ghoul family could have given you. The number of laws she broke, the risks she took, the burden she placed on herself, it was almost unimaginable. You would never be able to repay her for all she had done, but you vowed from an early age that you would make her proud, you would live a life worthy of all that effort. Studying medicine seemed only natural considering your mother's work at the hospital.

As you walked home, a cup of coffee in hand, you found yourself wondering if you where perhaps focusing too much on one aspect of life. College was undeniably important to be sure, and you were doing very well. But you had no real friends, never had a boyfriend or girlfriend for that matter. Besides your mother and one or two friends of hers, you were pretty much alone in the world. Was that bad? You weren't sure. Was any sort of a family of your own even possible? Finding a human would could love and accept you would be impossible, not to mention risky. Finding a ghoul, you wouldn't even know how to begin with that. Too risky for mother, and your future.

A figure rushes past you, smelling of far too much cheap perfume. Their hand reaches towards your neck, ripping away the gold chain with a single tug. The thief ran off behind you with your ring in their hands.

The ring had long since become too small for any finger save your pinky, but it had sentimental value and you rather liked the raven design engraved across the band.

You turned to see the thief running at full force, their body largely hidden in a big red jacket. They snatch the purse of some woman before disappearing into an alleyway. The woman and her family shout in protest before quickly chasing after them.

You where tempted to run after them even if it seemed rather foolhardy. That ring was irreplaceable. Though it was highly likely that thief would put up a struggle if you managed to chase him or her down. And there was always the non-zero chance they where a ghoul. Though as a ghoul yourself they would probably be far more of a threat to the family that just chased after them than to you.

Stolen Ring

You pick the wrong target mother fucker

First, just some minor grammatical errors that require correcting:

influx of ghouls sneaking in
I feel like it should be "an influx of ghouls sneaking in", idk, it just seems weird to me, this one you can feel free to ignore, since I'm not sure if it needs to be corrected

protected like Boston and New York if the rumors where to be believed.
It should be "were"

Hating something you could not possible change always struck you as useless.
"possibly"

Hiding in plain sight, the only way you noticed them is by scent.
You're using past tense in this sentence, so you should probably make sure that's consistent. That should be "was".

You had a promising educating,
"education"

Though as ghoul yourself
"Though as a ghoul yourself"

they would probably be far more of a threat to the family that just chased after them then to you.
"than"

And that seems to be about it, otherwise, not a bad start.

[X] Chase after the Thief.

A little bit of an overreaction for a thief, don't you think?

You pick the wrong target mother fucker
Unless they were intending to target us for reasons unknown.

Sadly we haven't managed to train our Kagune, but letting such a precious memento slip away without a fight? Nope.

There's nothing that suggests that we can't bring out our kagune, though. If we can bring it out, it might not be so bad, and even if we can't we get to learn how to fight hand to hand. Besides, that shit can be fine tuned, we have time.

The simple fact of the matter is that, given no reason to care about a particular thief, most players prefer them to die.
True, they could be just that, a thief with no real impact on the plot.

Of course, those who don't are always more vocal about it... [scoffs]
Scoff all you like, but if Tokyo Ghoul has taught me anything, first impressions are not a good read on a person's character.

Unless you're Souta. Because he was a piece of shit from the get-go and that has not changed.
