Ghoul Quest (Tokyo Ghoul)

Is there something bad about calling the cops in TG or does everyone just want to fight? Or are ghouls just not intimidated by police? Just wondering since no one responded to my suggestion.

I mean, there's nothing wrong with calling the cops, I guess, but they might take a while to get here, and admittedly, from the looks of things, we all have our own idea on what course of action to take. And we're quite stubborn about it.

The average cop can do very little to a Ghoul. Ghouls are amazingly tough. So unless these cops have Q-Bullets (Possible) or a Quinque (Unlikely) they aren't doing much to help. And if the police do have those sorts of weapons, they're just as much of a threat to us as they are to Alex.

One starved ghoul versus the police? Even in Pittsburgh you were pretty sure that was losing scenario for a ghoul
This is the reason I'm considering calling the cops our muggers are a solo duo no support. Which means they can't get back up if they try and fight back. Plus since we have the Friend on the force trait we have less to fear from the police then them. If we were fighting higher numbers I wouldn't consider it.

...Can we convince the family that we're Ghouls working for the police? Maybe call our contact on the force - if they actually know that we're a ghoul, that is - and have them confirm our story?

Unlikely. I doubt Ghouls would be working with the authorities on any official capacity given that the existence of Ghouls is illegal.

?? Never got that far into Tokyo ghoul... after the mc went off the rocker... oh and got a bunch of white hair dye. (I know the reason for his hair turning white) :p
Long story short,
there's this organization of ghouls called V, and they're the reason why the world is the way it is, and they're responsible for the creation of the CCG and the Washuu Clan, the family that's been publicly in charge of the CCG since its inception are all ghouls and principle members of V, so basically the CCG is built on lies.

Yeah, I actually considered setting this in Japan but stuff like that and having to work around canon in general...yeah. Way too hard to actually make work without setting it in the past which held no interest for me

Possibly, but a desperate ghoul, while hungry, is one that isn't at their best. And I'm hoping to intimidate him, of course there's gonna be a risk of it going wrong there. We're giving him an ultimatum, either let go of this meal, give us our property back and find somewhere else to feed, or let go of everything.
Any plan that relies on the incompetence of the enemy is not a good one, especially when it's related to their area of expertise re: street knowledge. He'd have some inkling of whether or not we were bluffing.

As for the family, just have them grab the other girl while we fight the ghoul, and then leave them with a snappy line or two about ghoul civil rights and how many more deaths humans suffer from other humans than from ghouls.

Or something, I don't know.

So, what are the votes?
I've become very confused on the voting myself. Particularly since Nidhoggr's write in is actually rather in line with votes like this

[]Intimidate
-[] (Bluff) "This is my territory you're hunting in, leave before my enforcers come for your head."
-[]Threaten to eat Alex
[] Talk to the family to get them to be quiet or just leave after making sure they stay alive

Meaning we have at least two votes for what is pretty much the same thing.

[X]Persuade
-[X]Convince Alex to let you go with your ring.

When it comes down to it, we don't know these people. We're phlegmatic, and we've dedicated our lives to repaying our mother. Sure, we could try saving them, we might even succeed, but these people have been told we're a ghoul. By another ghoul. In a culture that has been telling them we're monsters from their birth. There is no dissenting opinion. At least, nothing even close to unified.

Unless we're prepared to monitor them for a while, and make sure they don't talk (like, for example, noting that a female college student was apparently a ghoul in a police report), we're better off just getting our ring and letting them die.
Why don't we just call the cops to set a time limit on this encounter and basically stall them out? Force them to decided between their freedom and food. Easy way to keep our cover plus we have a friend on the force.
Because it's liable to end in our death. Since we're a ghoul, and our existence is literally a death sentence.

Leaving this family to its death when we could save them is completely evil, but w/e the majority decides
Edit: The thing that bothers me the most about just leaving them is that it kinda makes choosing the human raising pointless if we are just going to be another ghoul, at this rate were going to go back and forth across the line of man and monster never going the fun path of full human ghoul, nor going the other fun path -full monster

-[X] Pretend to convince him to give you the ring.
--[X] While you're not particularly hungry and don't need to take any of his food, the ring is a family heirloom, so you're not going anywhere until you have it.
-[X] If you convince him to give you the ring, take it and and walk past him while pretending to leave and then, when you're next to him, unleash your Kagune and surprise attack him.
--[X] Fight aggressively.
-[X] If you don't believe you can convince him to give you the ring, walk towards to him and attempt to intimidate him into giving you the ring.
--[X] Once you you're one or two meters from him, unleash your Kagune and attack him.
--[X] Fight aggressively.

If we can get the drop on him, fighting him will be easier, especially if he has an Ukaku or Bikaku kagune (if he has a Koukaku, we have the advantage either way). Kinda considering to agreeing to his deal before killing him, but that might make it harder to convince the family not to tell on us (especially if they run).

No she wont. She'll be dead.

You don't get to be disappointed and dead at the same time. It doesn't work that way.
Depends on your belief system and the universes mechanics. Maybe we believe in ghosts.
