#1 ghoul crime spot, and we get pulled into a ghoul attack? How shocking.
Anyway, since we've been revealed as a ghoul, saving the family is pointless. They'll just turn around and betray us, and since we don't have the unremarkable trait, they'll probably be able to describe us pretty well.

Keyword is probably, the fact that it was mentioned means there's a slight chance that she is a ghoul, and is hiding her scent from other ghouls, much like Minami did in JACK. Though Minami used human blood to make herself smell human.
However, it's more likely that this is the first instance other than ourselves of a human and a ghoul getting along. Which makes me hold out on hope for them.
I guess we have our Chie equivalent here.
I think Alicia wants to avoid that.

Actually, we aren't Confirmed as a ghoul quite yet!! The ghouls said that we were but it may be a case where it's possible to persuade the family that we aren't a ghoul actually. I mean, definitely safer to kill them all, but it's not a complete washout unless we flash them our kagune or if our eyes go ghoul or something obvious like that.
I think it's possible to get our ring back properly with words and leave the family to their fate, especially since the ghoul made this kind of offer. Though that would be pretty cruel of us.
Act bored and say something like, you're holding the ring for someone powerful and important and it's pointless to take it, really.
But would that be persuasion or....intimidation? hmmmmmm any thoughts guys?
I think it's possible to get our ring back properly with words and leave the family to their fate, especially since the ghoul made this kind of offer. Though that would be pretty cruel of us.

Our goal is mostly to live a full life, and we don't even know how our food supply gets to us not really. Dying means our life ends. But at the same time, I don't think we're adverse to saving the people, it's just very risky, and I'm pretty sure that we're aware that if they die, it's the cleanest and simplest solution. I'm ambivalent on whether or not we should actively try to save them, but I don't think Alicia would mind that they live if we achieve our own objectives.

Can I ask a question to all the people who are worried about us getting outed. How are the family (if they do get away) going to identify us? From what I understand from the char sheet equipment we are hooded up and look like a normal uni student - not too many defining characteristics and we aren't about to introduce ourselves.

No guarantees it will work, of course, and we've basically got to dispose of this family anyway if we don't want them to blow our cover, but it's a start.
