Yeah, it was interesting how the BETA were interwoven into the 40k verse. Made for a nice variation on things.
*briefly muses on theoretical court battle thing*

Maybe later.

Oh, and Skrettek's a new Grey Seer potential, though she's only 0/3 so she does have a fairly big chance of messily dying in the coming clusterfuck.

Way to take one for the team, as the Skaven who bravely pulled strings to put her in front of him/her metaphorically or literally would say.

Speaking of which. Where did these undead come from again?
Now that you've come to grips with them, I can dispense with the curtains and all - they came out of Nagashizzar, conveniently located right to the west of the Plain of Bones, in order to claim the plentiful supplies of gigantic dragon skeletons that have been steeping in dark magic for several thousand years.

Also the necromancers smell your warpstone deposits and want them.

"Dispense with the curtains," he says. Conveniently forgetting that three or so people saw it coming before we even asked Verminking the question. :V

The curtains in question may or may not have been made of cellophane :V

Though truth be told the reason people guessed that was because I was feeling guilty about what would've happened had I not given you guys a hint in the form of Thanquol's bad feeling.

Or rather, not what would have happened, but the fact that I wouldn't have even given you a hint as to it beforehand when I should've.

No worries though, I'll have gotten over any scruples I had the next time I pull something like this.

Thanquol's voice cut through the tension like a knife. "Shut up, Morskittar. I will go to the mountains, and open-clear the undead fortifications. You will go with me, and use the spirit-warp guns you are making against the necromancers."
Oh nooooo Thanquol's actually in charge of something in the field.

I can't wait to see what will horribly go wrong here.

Fun update.

*cough* C'mon, hey be reasonable. Not all of the sources you could be using to pull inspiration from for why X faction is doing something could be widely known.

While technically that's not wholly true seeing as I pull 90% of my info from the wiki and I decide faction actions by looking at their position on maps I've googled and puzzling out the estimated course of things in my head, I do see your point. The reason I gave y'all a warning was because at the time I didn't have a system in place to warn you of incoming attacks, so they would've just suckerpunched you in the middle of the turn without any prior warning, which would've been unfair since it was coming from your own territory. I've since cribbed something from some other quests that let me make it clear where you're getting attacked without unfairly blindsiding you.

Hey this is according to your plan :p

Though when Thanquol says he's going to go fuck up the undead in the mountains, he means it in a more personal sense. Someone else will be leading the secondary army.

Basically if you get attacked from now on I'll tell you who you're being attacked by, where you're being attacked and from what region they're coming from, and how much time within the turn you have before the attack hits you, if it hasn't already. Also size of the force and stuff if you have that info. As a rough example...

A greenskin Waaagh!!! led by the ork warboss Orxample is attacking territory in the Southlands region, primarily nearby Examplecity and Demonstrationburg. The horde contains primarily savage orks and their squig warbeasts, and is estimated to be equal to three (3) points of Authority in total strength.

Something roughly like that. I still need to work out a guideline to what information I present and such.

I meant more having to know the minutiae on literally every single location on the map that borders us and realizing that X city destroying threat lives in one of them and is just about to go out for a walk or whatever, because that's just silly.

Yeah, that's the plan, personal intervention primarily. The part quoted was a little vague as to who was actually really directly leading the secondary army.

Yeah, that'd be ridiculous for me to expect from you guys. Fortunately, I don't think there's any more cases that are this egregious geographically speaking.

Technically speaking Morskittar will be leading it and will claim all the credit if it goes well, but in all actuality it'll be one of Paskrit's (unnamed) commanders that actually lead the troops and Morskittar will be with the shooty guns.

I have a feeling Morskittar will have to be appeased down the line.
Maybe have Skyre head the conquest of the Karak Ankor, with aid from the newly raised Mors? If Rictus has gotten some serious mojo by that point perhaps make use of the wonderful Dawi tradition of interring their dead whole and well preserved.

I'm sure Skyre will love getting their mitts on the various Engineering Guild goodies and the prestige of defeating our ancient foes, and avoid having Mors get super pissed about having their thunder stolen after being the primary foe of the Dwarves.

This is at least a turn or two down the line though, so we have time to think about it. Or Morskittar will have Paskrit assassinated before then and make our lives difficult, because hey we're still playing Skaven and that's how they roll.

I doubt it. They've been given the lion's share of tech from the Dark Lands and have been getting authority every turn to research and build stuff. Minor grumbling from him about one operation isn't going to require appeasement.
