You know, this makes me really want a Myrmidia quest.
Like, not at the expense of this, this quest is absolutely amazing and I have a ton of playing participating in it, but man, a Myrmidia quest would be cool as hell.
I'm actually really happy to hear that opinion popping up, because that's one of the key results I want to get from this. Allow me to elucidate: this is a villain quest. What I mean by that is ... it's a branch off of some GMing philosophy I've taken from
@Red Flag, who runs the very successful War of the Krork quest on SB. That's a monster quest, to use his term - the attitude he fosters in-thread is might=right, and those who can't defend themselves deserve to be crushed. That's the attitude the Krork hold, and the attitude the playerbase holds, and it's relatively unchanging because the Krork are weapons - they were made for a purpose and every thought, every action they take is geared towards accomplishing that purpose.
This quest is different in that the skaven weren't made for a purpose - they were made, sure, but now they can do whatever they want, and they
choose to do evil. That's the difference between a weapon/monster/whatever and a villain - a villain chooses to do the things they do - they have varying reasons, sure, but they choose to do it. And in so doing they form somewhat more of a ... not symbiotic, but narratively cooperative relationship with their opposition than a monster does. A hero's story isn't good without a good villain, and a villain's triumph or downfall isn't worth anything without a good hero. That's why I tend to focus so much on the opposing sides in these updates - all the way back to the chaos dwarfs, to the ogres, to Gorktoof even, Myrmidia now, and everyone in between - the point isn't to try to present them as an obstacle to destroy, but as an adversary - hopefully a worthy one - to defeat. The more empathy with the opposition I can give to you guys, the better a job I've done. That's what all the peeks into Myrmidia's head and thought processes are for, the reactions she has to your ploys - it's to give them a sense of impact that wouldn't otherwise be there if I just described the results. I need to make you guys feel the impact the things you do have on the lives of the characters, not necessarily just their strategic success or failure.
Because you're villains. And a villain isn't anything if you discount the hero's struggle.
study of the various methods and uses of Warpstine between the various Clans so that we might get a few steps closer to an honest to goodness Warpstone Bomb for our final attack on Lustria or Archaon.
Or for the Skaven space program, because riding atomic explosions into space definitely sounds like something the Skaven would do.
Oh you can make warpstone bombs right now, they'd just have to be a superweapon. Getting widespread bombs in your tech list would require a bit of experimentation and such though.
I'm sorry I can't hear anything right now as my brain hasn't stopped screaming, "Cyber-Zombie Dragon-Rat Ogres!" over and over since reading your post.
I won't deny, I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys do with that stuff. Though I would read the implication as to what the end result of the regenerative process is before you go full-bore on it. Think of starfish.
Oh, and I'll put your Sparkit grenade into the list thing later on, it's better than the example I came up with.
