It's Valten right now, if certain things happen Sigmar will fully incarnate into him, but they'd both prefer to avoid that since it'd effectively kill him by overwriting his personality with that of Sigmar.
The / and (?) was more to represent my uncertainty as to whether Valten was close enough in ability to Sigmar to be counted in the same breath and tier as him.

Each god picks two champions, as can be discerned from the Fist thing in Grimgor's title. Two for Gork, two for Mork. One of them will be an Ork, one of them will be a goblin/smaller greenskin. If one's killed, like Grimgor was, then another will basically pop up from amongst the morepowerful war leaders around the globe.
Well, Grom and Skarsnik are the most obvious goblinoid...although, the Hobgoblin Khan could also have potential, though he might have trouble with how all other greenskins hate his kind. Even gnoblars are above them in general "like"

Ah, I see. Valten's pretty good, but getting better. He's mostly mulched beastmen up until now, and if Myrmidia makes war like she's playing a strategy game/RTS, gods like Sigmar go to battle like they're playing God of War or DMC. Fighting true chaos warriors will be a bit of an upgrade for him, but he'll harden.

Eh, hobgobbos are backstabby gits, but anyone who can fight cathayans like the Khan does is still worth going into a scrap with.

Grom's dead, unfortunately. He rammed face-first into Ulthuan a few centuries back and died in blood and fire at Tor Yvresse.
Or whatever that city's called.

I remember you were going to do something with Ulthan other than Malkeith's return: Totes final edition, which likely involved Grom from the fan-dex.

There is stuff happening with Ulthuan other than just 'Malekith super invades, fight to the death for realsies the reckoning electric boogaloo', but Grom's dead. Not that I'd have anything against including him necessarily, but for the timeframe. He'd have to have waited around in the Annuli for centuries, building up an army, before getting involved. Greenskins, no matter how clever, just don't have that sort of patience. They have to have things happen because the Waaagh!!! needs momentum to build and build and build. It's why I'm unsure if Gorbad Ironclaw's alive in this game, he did a vanish something like a century or so ago if my off-the-cuff recollection's right, and maybe that'd be a thing he could've done if he decided to go wander alone for a bit, maybe, but I dunno. It's something I'm gonna have to look more closely at when I get the chance.

Point being, greenskins aren't the type of beings to do something like build and army over the course of decades while waiting for the right time to strike, their boyz would just wander off. They need fights, momentum, Waaagh! to actually get anything done.

You know, this makes me really want a Myrmidia quest.

Like, not at the expense of this, this quest is absolutely amazing and I have a ton of playing participating in it, but man, a Myrmidia quest would be cool as hell.

This is a really damn insightful post, I'd rate it twice over if I could. Myrmidia's a horrible opponent to face for anyone since she can basically command armies like she's playing Total War Warhammer while everyone else has to do it manually, and especially for you guys since you're a favoured enemy. But like most everyone else, she just plain doesn't know about the whole unification thing, and so what she thought initially was some warlord looking to take a swing at the resurgent goddess is actually a concerted push to topple the country on a scale that no one's ever seen the skaven pull off before.
I will always and ever continue to find it hilarious just how well taking the Dark Lands worked out for us. No one found out about our conquest of such a gargantuan empire nor the kind of efforts that the Skaven have begun to exert in assaulting the surface world. Two free years to work on the Great Ascendancy all because Skreech Verminking choose to give us the heads up on the coming apocalypse, man Thanquol has to be patting himself on the back for summoning the greatest servant of the Horned Rat nearly every day. Well, every day that he isn't regretting having to deal with Skreech directly.

And no you don't have those lightning grenades on a large scale, but every warplock-engineer has some sort of personalized project like that lying around - it wouldn't be super difficult to make into a mass-produced tech, though.

Could we have them added as a Tech to the Skyre list? As a reminder that they're there and can be mass-produced, even if we haven't done so yet.

I'll put it on the ideas list thing, or do you want it on the exploitables tab? Either way's fine.

Since I haven't seen a response yet I figured is give it a go for the Ideas tab.

Name (if applicable): Sparkit Grenade
Description: Generators have long been able to use Warpstone to create fantastical effects, lightning, energy production, and mutation being some of the most iconic.

Now Skyre has been able to move from cumbersome backpack generators and capacitors and two-rat teams being necessary to field the terror of their Warp Lightning in large numbers. With the discovery of notes and production models from Under-Magritta by survivors of Clan Skyre, and a hefty ransom paid to Clan Mors for the survivors, one of the most accepted flaws of the Warpstone generators has been weaponized.

Rather than attempt to harness and direct the power of the lightning created by breaking down Warpstone the Sparkit Grenade instead allows for the charge to continually build within the containment chamber and when the timing mechanism reaches zero the chamber is breached and the energy that has built up violently andindiscriminately erupts in a wide area electrocuting all within its effective range.

It is unknown at this time how the Sparkit Grenade's effectiveness scales with the size of the initial Warpstone charge or whether the other methods of breaking down Warpstone might be viable for Sparkit Grenade usage.

Probable clans used: Skyre
Is this:
- The mass distribution of the grenades used by the late Sparkit Tinjaw.

Though now I'm more interested in a concentrated and collaborative study of the various methods and uses of Warpstine between the various Clans so that we might get a few steps closer to an honest to goodness Warpstone Bomb for our final attack on Lustria or Archaon.

Or for the Skaven space program, because riding atomic explosions into space definitely sounds like something the Skaven would do.

Remember, we still have that Dragon Ogre Meat which will grow when exposed to electricity and then keep that charge and possibly generate more electricity.

I feel like we can do something with that.

Like, rations that can be grown while on the move that also double as a way to charge weapons.

I'm sorry I can't hear anything right now as my brain hasn't stopped screaming, "Cyber-Zombie Dragon-Rat Ogres!" over and over since reading your post.

I'm actually really happy to hear that opinion popping up, because that's one of the key results I want to get from this. Allow me to elucidate: this is a villain quest. What I mean by that is ... it's a branch off of some GMing philosophy I've taken from @Red Flag, who runs the very successful War of the Krork quest on SB. That's a monster quest, to use his term - the attitude he fosters in-thread is might=right, and those who can't defend themselves deserve to be crushed. That's the attitude the Krork hold, and the attitude the playerbase holds, and it's relatively unchanging because the Krork are weapons - they were made for a purpose and every thought, every action they take is geared towards accomplishing that purpose.

This quest is different in that the skaven weren't made for a purpose - they were made, sure, but now they can do whatever they want, and they choose to do evil. That's the difference between a weapon/monster/whatever and a villain - a villain chooses to do the things they do - they have varying reasons, sure, but they choose to do it. And in so doing they form somewhat more of a ... not symbiotic, but narratively cooperative relationship with their opposition than a monster does. A hero's story isn't good without a good villain, and a villain's triumph or downfall isn't worth anything without a good hero. That's why I tend to focus so much on the opposing sides in these updates - all the way back to the chaos dwarfs, to the ogres, to Gorktoof even, Myrmidia now, and everyone in between - the point isn't to try to present them as an obstacle to destroy, but as an adversary - hopefully a worthy one - to defeat. The more empathy with the opposition I can give to you guys, the better a job I've done. That's what all the peeks into Myrmidia's head and thought processes are for, the reactions she has to your ploys - it's to give them a sense of impact that wouldn't otherwise be there if I just described the results. I need to make you guys feel the impact the things you do have on the lives of the characters, not necessarily just their strategic success or failure.

Because you're villains. And a villain isn't anything if you discount the hero's struggle.

Oh you can make warpstone bombs right now, they'd just have to be a superweapon. Getting widespread bombs in your tech list would require a bit of experimentation and such though.

I'm sorry I can't hear anything right now as my brain hasn't stopped screaming, "Cyber-Zombie Dragon-Rat Ogres!" over and over since reading your post.
I won't deny, I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys do with that stuff. Though I would read the implication as to what the end result of the regenerative process is before you go full-bore on it. Think of starfish.

Oh, and I'll put your Sparkit grenade into the list thing later on, it's better than the example I came up with.

Combine Dragon Ogre Flesh with (hopefully) corpse of Myrmidia, Grey Seer Dreaded 13 magic, harness the great storms (or just Warp Lightning Cannons) and go

"IT'S, ALLIIIIIIVVVVVVEE!"

Or, you know, combine it with the Stormfiend Concept with internal Warp Lightning Generators alongside Stormfiendesque enhancements and troll flesh because why not for nigh-immortal shock troops with disgustingly high reaction times.

Could we get skaven in the air, now that we're bothering with the surface? It doesn't even have to be fast, since most ranged weapons won't be geared to hit targets very high up. We can then proceed to drop various fun payloads on the guys below. If the Dwarfs can do it while being careful, we can definitely do it easily if we throw out caution. After all, pilots are expendable.

Skaven Adam Jensen is a concept I would not at all be unhappy to get my mitts on.
"Snikch we understand you want to get back to basics but instead here are cutting edge prosthetics and a few organ grafts and new bones and muscles. Okay now you really do need to start from basics again, since your entire nervous system is basically brand new."
"I did not want-ask for this!"

IF it's still there next turn we should probably do something about Nagash's Black Pyramid.

If nothing else we could ransack it and blow it up with Warpstone Bombs. Or even perform a ritual to drag it into the Realm of the Horned Rat as an offering if we can't personally steal it. Actually if we could somehow take advantage of the mutable definitions of time and space we could maybe drag it into the Labyrinth from Khemri and deposit it in the section around Hellpit to supplement the defenses and power with that pure, refined, gigantic chunk of Warpstone.

With this conflict in the Plain of Bones, Nagash is quite potentially likely to actually focus on us.

Mmm, agreed. Perhaps have Clan Rictus supported by the Grey Seers and Thanquol make an attempt at Skitterleaping or flying the Pyramid to the Plain of Bones to soak up all the Death magic there and amplify it for our own use (provided we cleared it out of Nagash's minions). As this is similar to what Nagash did during Canon!End Times this does mean it is possible if soul shatteringly difficult.

We may be able to bargain with or otherwise distract Settra by making use of Araby and "supporting" their fight against the Tomb Kings. There might even be a chance we would be able to get Skreech Verminking's personal aid in depriving Nagash of this monument and converting it into a tool of the Skaven.

Or perhaps simply having Skyre and Rictus work together to have the Pyramid work as an amplifier for a Warpstone Bomb Superweapon and detonate in a massive release of Death Magic that might even kill the Tomb Kings permanently, maybe break the curse, or just render Nekehara literally a Dead Zone with super-saturation of the Amethyst Wind.

Loving the idea though because going by Nagash's Canon Timeline he's due for attempting to steal it soon...

We propably want to avoid recharging/reactivating it for Nagash.
I would propably prefer to try for a clean loot&destroy rather than trying to take the whole thing, fly away with it and play right in his hands.

He is active and relativly alive now, so he'll almost certainly personally intervene if we try something that big with his Pyramid.

Fair enough, a fire and forget Superweapon that we have Rictus and Thanquol study and scavenge the undead hell out of before having it detonate in a calamitous Warpstone and Death magic field explosion is still a pretty satisfying idea.

EDIT: After double checking Thanquol's character sheet we could end up with someone who has an effective 9 or 10 intelligence and his ability to increase magical research project's success dramatically studying the greatest Necromantic artifacts in the world with the direct aid of our one Necromantically inclined Clan. This is now an idea that has my full attention.

@Xantalos

Do the Skaven have the records and information to recognize the significance of the Black Pyramid and its connection to Nagash?
They know it was built by him, not exactly what it does, but that's pretty damn simple to figure out what with it being a giant necromantic beacon thing built by the first lich to exist. So basically yes, but you don't know if it has any esoteric functions or somesuch yet. If it starts flying or something, they'd be surprised, but not shocked, if you get my drift.

There are three things we want out of it: the knowledge it contains, the power it contains, and denying it to Nagash.

Perhaps ask Verminking, generally, how to seize it one way or another for the Skaven and acting on that. As a massive arcane monument of refined, deadly, enchanted Warpstone and a necromantic nexus, there is great raw power to be drained from it, either from the artifice itself or the souls it's tied to. Ideally we can acquire the Pyramid as a whole, but simply draining it would do as well.

Slightly related, I'm reasonably sure whatever the Greenskins are fighting in the Badlands is Nagash.

Lot of things to get done next turn. We'll see whose ideas get through.

I might as well declare intent for pushing hard to have the big econ pick be the train/railway construction linking some combination of Skavenblight-Port of Ruin idea, with the Army/SS/Navy benefiting the most.

If we do completely take over Estalia this turn would you be amenable to having the railway extend all the way to Magritta so that we can have full run from the Sea of Claws to the Great Ocean? Would make it so that we have full end to end connection of the Under-Empire and we can begin really making use of the Naval options at both ends. I would hazard a guess that those pesky Elves and Dark Elves aren't going to become less of a problem in the future.

Would also allow for more direct access to the Southlands and Nekehara should we decide to make a play at either stealing or destroying the Black Pyramid.

Yeah, probably, linking the two seas would be great, because we don't have any real control if wandering High Elves decide to make a nuisance of themselves again if we send things around even the long way. I'm just concerned authority wise what is accomplishable, because the hardest part is going to be tunneling through/around the Karaks.
