So what we learned is that dad's power (we found that in testing IIRC) goes Abomination-> human, and not the other way around. Which makes me wonder what kind of utter bullshit mom has to keep up with the rest of the family.

On that note: There's more work to be done on the family tree. I'd say Progenitor is Uncle, and the other powers are Cousin, since we're only related through our new sisters. Also, kinda wanna meet our Aunt, she's probably pretty cool.
Soo, how massive are the twins in their true forms? Moon sized? Star sized? Somewhere in the middle?:D
Rude.

Heh I just had an idea for a fun future experiment, find out what kind of music Upgrade likes! :)

Aww, looks like boredom plan #6846167 "Eat the Moon" is gonna have to be scrapped on account of our parents did it so it's uncool.

I get the feeling that we're somehow relatives of Progenitor.
eh, no. Progenitor was a normal human who got fantastically lucky on his power and then used it well. Dad I'm betting was one of the sentient shards who decided to be a person instead of connected to a host. If anything, we're upgrade's niece more than progenitor's relative.

This is a theory stated as fact, which I'd prefer you avoid in my quests. You don't really know how or why Progenitor ended up with Judge, if luck was involved at all, etc.

Also we do know it was at least intentional. From chapter 2.5:
An artificial power with no intelligence or motives of its own, Judge gives its user near-complete control over the entire process of gaining, keeping, losing, and organizing "superpowers." It would also alert the being linked to the artificial power 'Deity' should Judge's user plot against them. It had no contingency for plotting taking place inside a time-stopped universe, a lesson Progenitor honestly should've done a better job of heeding before now. (◎_◎;)

After approximately five seconds (real time) of being given this power and told of his "duties," Judge's user attacked Deity's wielder with what were, at the time, some of the most powerful versions of each of the following: Stagnate, Stasis, Cessation, Stop, Cease, Block, Halt, Suspend, Pause, Impede, Usurp, Steal, Break, Degrade, Free, Open, Splinter, Vacant, Forsake, Void, Isolate, Wild, Pierce, Obliterate, Annihilate, Destroy, Conclude, Overwhelm, Disable, Eliminate, Eradicate, Overkill, Extinguish, End, Locate, Exclude, Discover, Erase, Retrieve, Abolish, Encounter, Overrule, and Clear, in that order. (And most Upgrades got to help improve Judge's wielder before the fight, including yours! (✿◠‿◠) )
So at the very least Progenitor was given his powers, and potentially was already in an antagonistic relationship with Diety's wielder, that or he found a problem with his "duties"; Five seconds is not a lot of time to start plotting.

fair enough, though it had seemed a rational conclusion.
It's entirely possible that he was previously a Power himself, and was given a body so he could use Powers. It's one possible explaination for why he turned on his benefactor so quickly, and so effectively, and why he seems to have more empathy for Powers than for people. It's not the only explaination, though.

I personally like the theory that he was a human under the "people get powers after trauma" system, and when after he got his power he found out who was responsible for that system in the first place, he decided a change in management was due.

The fact that Judge, like Deity, is called out as being an 'artificial' power without self-will, and also the reference to having 'duties', suggests to me that Judge was not likely one of the powers that was ever given out randomly. This further implies that Progenitor was selected specifically, for one reason or another.

I have to wonder: What happened to Deity?
Well given what Upgrade had to say on the matter . .

I think we can safely say "He's dead Jim"

Depending on the reasons for that 'alarm' on Judge, that might not have entirely been the guy with Deity's fault. Note I say "entirely".

Depends on the situation and the guy who gave it to him. If someone else had Judge first, and Progenitor was the previous Judge's much-abused assistant, the guy with Deity may just have given it to him out of convenience, for instance. We don't have enough data on the topic yet, I don't think.

Progenitor stole it, almost certainly. Well, looted it off the guy he killed who previously owned it.

See, this is why I don't refer to the guy who Progenitor killed as "Deity". Because giving him the same name as his power is confusing. I should just call him "Deus" or "Jove" or something, but most of the good names are taken by other fictional characters. I may just call him "Kevin", in the future. And the hypothetical previous owner of Judge...I dunno, "Asshole", since he was the guy who made it so people got powers from near-death experiences?
