[X] Call her name
-[X] Surrender
--[X] Hug her
--[X] Vent verbally
"Na-" You start to respond, but your voice croaks, and you cough to clear it out and then wait another moment to make sure that the Spark didn't do any internal damage when you screamed, then haul yourself up into a sitting position. "Nanoha?" You can see Fate hovering a ways back, and she looks like she's ready to keep fighting.
"Yes, it's me. Do you feel better?" You aren't sure whether she's asking if you feel better for having a good fight or if she's asking if you can move on your own. You shake your head.
"Mm. I'm fine. I ... I suppose this is the part where I surrender, huh?" You look around, then shrug and pull out a dress. Between the glass, bullets, blood, fire, and general mayhem, you're once again not wearing much at all. Nanoha sighs and puts her hand down as you begin pulling the dress over your head.
"Well, you will need to explain yourself, but I don't think 'surrender' is the right word." You pause for a moment, thinking about something Hayate said.
"Hmm ... hey, who would I have to ask to have talk to your boss so we can do this again?"
"'This'?" She frowns at your question and glances at Fate, who lands next to her. You nod as you hop to your feet. Then you check to make sure there isn't any more blood on you, that your hands have healed, and that your dress is on properly, and then dart forward and catch her in a spinning, swinging hug, ending with you holding her in the air, smiling into her face.
"Uh-huh! 'Cause this is the most fun I've had in a long time!" She looks a little uncomfortable at that and looks around, so you quickly clarify as you release her. "Oh, not the buildings and people and stuff, but the fight, with you and Vita and whoever else there was. That was fun!" You hear a snort and turn to see Vita floating by Fate, along with ... you blink. It looks like Hayate, except her hair and eyes are paler, and she has three pairs of wings.
"Except the 'buildings and people and stuff' are a problem, and why we had to come out here to begin with, so go ahead and begin with that explanation, Flandre Scarlet," Hayate says, and you glare at her. Well, Nanoha thought you should do it, so you might as well .... You drop to the ground - not to make it seem like you're less than them or anything like that, but because pacing on the ground felt better than floating back and forth, and because it's easier to find something to throw or bite on the ground. You take a deep breath and let it out.
"Alright. Alright, I'll give you an 'explanation,' Hayate Yagami, even though the only people who can give me orders are Marino, Gaiz, Acous, Gracia, and now Balfour, and not you, Hayate Yagami, not you, but I'll tell you anyway, because that's what's right, explaining what's wrong instead of simply making insane demands, isn't Hayate Yagami. So where to start." You're standing still, straight but leaning just a bit forward, and your gleaming eyes are focused on Hayate's.
"I do things a certain way, you see, and if people don't tell me to stop or tell me I'm doing something wrong, I keep doing things that way. So I know that you people don't like killing people, but I know that because Marino told me that. He told me, when we first met, that I should try to not kill people if I could help it. So I don't kill people if I can help it. Do you know what Marino didn't tell me? He didn't tell me that walking into his office when I wanted to ask him about something is the wrong way to do that. He would stop what he was doing, hear me out, and respond. He wouldn't interrupt me. He would listen until I finished talking. And he didn't tell me that what I was doing was wrong. So I thought I was doing things right.
"And I told Balfour that I was coming to talk to Nanoha, because I can't call her myself, and he didn't say I couldn't, so I was allowed to do that. And flying is how I get around, because walking is so slow. And then I was talking to Nanoha and Vita, because I had permission and they didn't say anything about wanting me to come again another time, and Nanoha said we needed your permission to see if I could practice my spell cards with Vita, and I said I was going to see you, and someone said that was okay. Vita said it was okay, and Vita should know, right? And Nanoha didn't say she was wrong, so that must mean that Vita was right. Which means it was okay that I went to visit you." You start pacing, working off the frustration that builds up as you speak.
"And then I went to make tea, because that's polite and no one said not to, and someone sent a wolf-youkai down to watch me, and he even led me up to your office, Hayate Yagami. Strange, that. How could he have known I was going to your office unless someone told him? And you certainly seemed to know what I wanted, so I think you sent him, to make sure I found your office. Which means I had your permission to see you, because you could have just as easily sent someone to say 'Come back later.' But you didn't. You sent someone to come get me! You! You-you-you ...!" You break down and start cursing. Not common swearing, of course, but actual curses, like 'May you be eternally infested by the fleas of a thousand camels,' or the one about not being able to sleep or eat in the same place twice. You just stand there trembling and cursing in various languages for ten minutes until you calm down a little, and look over at Hayate.
"Um, Fla-"
"Of course, then you had to go and show just how little you care about me by interrupting me!" She does look like she regrets something ... but maybe it's just that she told you to start talking. "You interrupted me, in front of someone! In front of a fairy! A fairy! You humiliated me, insulted me, told me that what I'd been doing for weeks was wrong and that you were right, and told me to go away! I'm supposed to take your word, when you've just humiliated me, over the word of someone I've been with for weeks and who hasn't disrespected me? Well?" Hayate just hovers there without meeting your eyes, and you turn to leave. A hand on your shoulder stops you, and you jerk your head to the side, eyes slitted.
"Flandre, would you like a ride back to your unit?" Your eyes open at Nanoha's question, and you take a breath. You suspect it's one of those 'questions that is actually an order' and nod, then sit down in the shadow of a building, away from the burning sun. You did surrender, after all. Nanoha pats your shoulder, then goes over to talk to Hayate - of course. She's nice to you, but she isn't your friend either. You wonder why you're so calm, though - you didn't feel like destroying anything during your rant, even though you normally do that ... maybe you should ask Headless about it sometime. You look up at the cluster of mages; you can't tell what's being said, but Hayate is back to normal, and Vita is glaring at you. You sigh and put your head back down.
After a few minutes, the green helicopter flies over and lands in the street. Nanoha - back in her brown uniform - comes to get you, holding out her hand again. You let her help you up this time, and she smiles at you. The two of you get into the helicopter, and the door closes as it lifts off.
