Why Aren't We Killing Yet?
Entropy Judge
Recurring Bouts of Misanthropy
[X] Ask to join up - you're cuter than the dragon-girl and you're a much better fighter!
-[X] If they argue ask for a place where we can show them exactly what we can do!
Fate glances over as well and smiles at the new arrivals. You let go of her hand and step back; when she looks back at you, you tilt your head and dart your eyes at them. She makes an odd expression, but smiles again and walks toward them. It's not that you don't have things to say to them - your questions about dragons for the little girl, asking the serious one why she's only frowning at you, and so on - but they can wait until after you're settled. Besides, they are being polite, instead of trying to interrupt your conversation, so just this once you can afford to be magnanimous. Fate doesn't take long, though, and you follow her to a small terrace to the side of the building - shaded, at this time of day. You stare for a long moment at the ocean - you hadn't noticed it when you landed earlier. You wonder how rough the waves get.
"I would have thought you might want to be introduced to some people closer to your own age," Fate says. You stifle a giggle - you don't think you've met anyone here who's close to your own age - and shake your head.
"Maybe later," you say off-handedly. "Maybe not at all, if you all really want to throw me out as soon as you can." Fate flinches, and you shrug. "I mean, what's the point of meeting people if I'm just going to be leaving right away? But anyway ... I'm not sure there's anything else I can actually help with regarding how to get to Gensokyo - either what I told Nanoha is enough to get you there, or it isn't, and if it's not I can't help anyway."
"But ... don't you want to go home? And what about your family?" You chuckle, interrupting, and her expression clouds.
"Home? Eventually, yes - but it was so boring there, and there are things I want to do that I can't do there. And Remilia will come get me when she gets too worried ... well, unless Patchouli closes the portals and my letter gets lost ... did I write a letter? I thought I did ...." You frown in concentration. You're certain you left a note ... but maybe you didn't?
"Umm ...? Flandre?" Fate's hand is on your shoulder, and she's looking at you worriedly - but you can feel the pulse in her hand, hear the blood flow - and you shake yourself, pushing her hand away. Stay away for now! Hee ...! I'm not hungry right now. Aren't you? "Flandre?" You shake yourself fully awake and blink at her.
"Hey, can I join you?" Her face freezes in complete shock. "I mean, just for a bit - you did say your unit was new, that means you can still accept people, right? And I'm really cute, even cuter than the girl with the dragon! And if I join, then I'll be an official member, and you won't have to worry about taking care of me! And since I'll be staying here with Vita anyway, because that's where she is, it makes sense for me to be in the same group as her! And I'm a really good fighter!" You lean forward, panting slightly, and your eyes start to gleam. Do it, do it, doitdoit! Then she shudders and looks down, breathing deeply. After a moment she looks back up, frowning in concern.
"... Flandre, I know you've become very attached to Vita, but what we're doing is very dangerous. How would your sister feel if you got hurt? And ... Vita's already got a lot to do, so if you went out, wouldn't that be dangerous for everyone?" You shake your head violently.
"No! A Ma- Vita's going to be my best friend, and best friends take care of each other! So Vita will be taking care of everyone else, and I'll be taking care of Vita," you finish with a huff, and hop out of the chair. You grab the table and jerk it toward you, just a little. "I bet I can throw this to the ocean! I can take care of myself." You coil up, bracing for the throw, but Fate jumps in front of you.
"Flandre! Calm down, please. It's ... it's not that simple."
"Fine, then. I'll prove that I'm good enough! Just take me wherever I need to go to show you what I can do!" Your eyes are blazing, and you're still holding the table tensely, but Fate just kneels down and puts her hands on your shoulders, shaking her head.
"It's not that simple. There are ... rules, and regulations -"
"Politics?" She smiles tiredly at your interjection.
"Yes, politics. And ... well, tomorrow we have a very important mission, and even if Vita wakes up before we leave, she'll be staying behind. So everyone's a bit shaken right now. And even if we do decide to see if you can join, right now we still have to try and find out how to get you home. So, is there anything else you can think of that might help with that?" You let go of the table and lean against it, twitching one wing and then the other, the crystals chiming discordantly. Eventually, however, you shrug.
"I can't think of anything. I only know what my sister made sure I knew, so ...." Fate smiles at you.
"Well, don't worry about it too much," she says - not that you were planning on worrying at all ... - and stands up. "Vita should wake up sometime tomorrow, as well, so you can probably talk things over with her while we're gone. For now, though ..." she cocks her head during the brief pause, "is there anything you want to do right now?" You yawn deeply, and her eyes widen in surprise.
"Hehe! Um, actually, is it okay if I just go to sleep somewhere? I'm a little tired now ...." Which is pretty much a lie, but you do want to go somewhere and be alone for a bit. You need to plan.
"Alright, if you'll follow me, then, we set up a room for you. You'll have to sleep alone ...." She points out various 'important' things, like 'emergency' exits, where the four others sleep, washroom, how to turn the lights on .... You smile politely and nod at the appropriate times, yawning as necessary to get her to hurry up. No wonder humans are so low on the food chain, if they need so much instruction! Eventually, though, she leaves you alone, and you turn off the lights, draw the curtains, and wrap the blanket around yourself as you curl up in the darkest corner available ... and eventually slide under the bed.

DM Note: For the first set, it's only one choice - you can choose to talk, and how, or you can choose to not talk, or you can try to Block Headless (which will probably require a roll). Talking defaults to "Look, I'm trying to get a servant, don't fuck this up." Headless is named such because 1) Flan thought it was funny, and 2) She really likes killing things.
For the second set, you can vote for as many as you want, but order matters. Depending on what options win and how hard she pushes, it could prevent lower options from occurring.
-[X] If they argue ask for a place where we can show them exactly what we can do!
