[X] Yes
-[x] Whisper it into Nanoha's ear.
[X] Disagree because you want to stay with Vita.
You get the feeling that Nanoha wants to argue, and you see the brown-haired girl quickly shake her head. It seems they were either outmaneuvered or didn't consider it worth the risk to fight over who gets to take care of you. A shame that neither one seems to have considered the idea that you might have a thought on the matter. You clear your throat and have the slight satisfaction of seeing the four interlopers jump in surprise before looking at you. You smile sweetly.
"Um, I don't know who any of you people are, but Nanoha and I were having a conversation, and you all interrupted. Could you be a little less rude and go sit at a table in the corner away from us until we finish?" Several seconds of silence pass before you hear Nanoha clear her throat behind you, and you turn to look at her.
"Ah, this is General Gaiz of the Ground Forces here on Mid-Childa. And he's right, it would be safer for you to wait there than with us, and they can better take care of any special needs you might have." She sounds ... toneless, like she doesn't believe the words she's saying and is a terrible actor. You sigh.
"Let me be more clear, then, Nanoha. I don't care who the ugly fat man and his horse-faced trophy bride are, and I don't understand why the conversation we were having is supposed to be put on hold just because they think they have something important to say." You hear several sharp breaths, and Nanoha's jaw drops, and you turn back to them when you finish. The brown-haired woman is deathly pale, while the man is red-faced and his fists are shaking convulsively. The woman in blue looks even more upset, and the blonde just seems stunned. "However, as you people seem to have no knowledge of politeness, and little better of hospitality, I suppose I'll have to talk to you people before you go away? Very well - no. I don't want to go with you. Vita is here, and this is her place; I want to stay where she is, so I will be staying here. Does that -" You break off as the woman in blue steps forward and slaps you. You see it coming, of course, and you're tempted to stop her ... but you are trying to keep a low profile. It's so very hard, though, but when you duck your head and start trembling in your own rage, it seems that everyone misunderstands.
"General Gaiz!" You're pretty sure that's the brown-haired woman, and you hear Nanoha start to get up, but before her chair has finished sliding back there's a burst of yellow light and a white cape blurs and settles before you. You're sure that everyone in the room can feel the anger radiating from whoever she is. You see long blonde hair and wonder if every blonde magician you meet will have yellow magic.
"Fate!" "Captain Harlaown!"
"Captain Harlaown. I don't know how Captain Takamachi managed to teach her what to say in so short a time, but rest assured, this incident will not be -"
"Auris! That will be enough!" The woman is cut off by her superior, but you wish she'd kept talking; you aren't sure, but it sounded like she was in pain. Certainly, since you saw it coming you didn't flinch with the slap, but you also didn't consciously try anything. "... It seems the child has developed some kind of attachment to one of your officers, Colonel Yagami; in light of that information, we shall reconsider our demand for custody. I do hope this doesn't cause any deployment difficulties for you. Good day." You hear two sets of footsteps walk away, but even after they've faded everyone remains silent for a long moment. Then you hear two long sighs as the blonde woman - Fate? You wonder if your sister knows her - turns and wraps her arms around you.
"Are you okay?" she asks softly, and you nod; your temper is back to normal, now.
"Fate ...."
"Captain Harlaown. Come here for a moment." She releases the embrace and stands up, quickly following her commander to the far corner of the cafeteria. You turn back to the table to find Nanoha sitting down again, looking at you carefully.
"Are you alright? If it hurts ...," she stops talking as you shake your head. You frown down at your sandwich; now you really wish you'd stopped the woman from hitting you, because then you could have ripped her arm off and used the blood as a relish. Not that the food is bad, really, but .... You sigh and quickly look around, then meet Nanoha's eyes.
"Um ... so, do you want to know why I was asking about blood?" She blinks in confusion, but nods hesitantly, and you look around again before scuttling over to her side of the table. "You have to promise not to tell anyone, though," you say, and she nods again, frowning. You motion for her to lean down and whisper in her ear. "I'm a vampire." She stares quizzically at you.
"A va-" She cuts herself off as you bring one finger to your lips. "I ... see ...." She frowns in thought as you walk back to your chair.
"Mhm. But you can't tell anyone."
"Hmm ...." She lapses into silence as you return to your sandwich. She looks up as you finish. "Would you like to go back to the Infirmary? We can see if Vita is awake yet," she finishes quickly as you start to frown. You jump out of the chair, startling the others and making Nanoha smile. She waves at them as she shepherds you out the door. You walk in silence for a minute or so before she says, "I suppose you're a skilled and powerful mage, hm?" You shake your head, and she frowns.
"Uh-uh. I can't do any spells." It's something of a sore spot for you; you wonder if Remilia was ever disappointed that you couldn't use magic very well.
"But you flew in the imaginary space overlay ...." She trails off, frowning, as you stare at her. "Um, flight is an incredibly difficult magic to master, and spells just don't work at all in imaginary space. It was, fortunately, just a temporary dimensional disruption, but it was still very dangerous for mages below a certain rank ...." You shrug and tighten your shoulders, wrapping your wings around you. She seems to understand that you aren't very comfortable with that line of discussion and you are both silent the rest of the way to the Infirmary. You run to the door to Vita's room; it fails to slide open the way it did before until Nanoha reaches it, though. You slip through, wings unfurling as you hurry toward Vita - but she's still asleep. Properly asleep, at least, instead of being knocked out. You hop into a chair and watch her; Nanoha stands by a row of screens for a moment before glancing at you. Will you two be fine if I leave you here for a bit? I want to ask Shamal something." You nod and she walks out of the room.
You wait a few moments to make sure she's really gone, then quickly scan the room. You don't see any cameras or any of the black hemispheres that Miss Kaname showed you, the ones that hide cameras. You sigh and relax, then slip out of the chair and walk over to Vita. You really want to talk to someone ... since no one's around, you could talk to Headless, but she'll probably be grumpy about you ignoring her earlier, and that might wake Vita up! And now that you've gone and told someone about being a vampire, you can't help but wonder whether it was such a good idea after all ... it should mean fewer problems getting blood, of course, but Nanoha was asking those questions about you being a mage, and you wonder whether you're in over your head .... And you still forgot to ask about magic clothes and Vita's Master! The former isn't too important, but you need to find out who Vita's Master is so you can meet her and convince her (one way or the other) to let you have Vita!
What do you do?
[ ] Talk to Headless; you need to talk to someone you know.
[ ] Run away; you think you're in too complex a situation.
- [ ] Find General Gaiz and his friend, first. There's a little matter of payback.
[ ] Wait for Nanoha to get back; you have no idea what's going on! Maybe they'll let you smash something?
[ ] Other?
