Besides, this is a vote to see if they agree. If they don't... Well, it was worth a shot, so then, they will die as promised in the contract.
I'm not a fan of 'shotgunning' it, so to speak... And in life, there are some that simply doesn't give a shit about logic or good reasons. Or win-win scenarios, because they just wan tto make the others suffer.

Laevateinn appears in your hand as Vita steps forward and scores of brown night-demons tumble forth from the portal. "Now, now, Vita - I'm not going to let you have all the fun." She snorts.

"This isn't a game." As if it needs to be a game to be fun! The spokes-demon gapes at you, then stamps its cane against the steps as the others falter in confusion.

"What? Why are - no, no, no! You have to -!" Then it stops and cocks its head, controlling itself. "Oh, yes. Yes, if simply calling you isn't enough, I suppose we'll just have to make you our ruler by force!" It cackles and bursts, sending a wave of malevolence washing over its subordinates, and over you and Vita. Vita erects a triangle-shaped shield, but you simply enjoy the sensation for a moment before activating Loki, then grabbing Vita by the collar and leaping back. She glares at you for a moment before you dart forward, clones bursting into existence as you slam into the onrushing horde.

"We need to destroy that portal," you hear in your head as a dozen blazing red orbs punch through the night-demons. One of the armored captains is the only one to survive being hit, Vita's shot smashing into its breastplate and rocking it back, but it snarls, spraying drool everywhere, and charges forward.

"No, don't destroy it." Vita swoops down beside you, Graf Eisen crushing through the skull of a black-and-brown night-demon that tries leaping at you. The look she gives you is almost as bad as the one she sends toward the portal itself. "If we destroy this one, they'll just make another one. But since this one is here, that means we can go through it on our own terms and try to stop them permanently." You send a short burst of power through Laevateinn, scouring one wing of the night-demons' force with cleansing flames - and if the two red lords, the familiar ones, leer at you, that confidence only lasts until your clones tear them apart.

"Huh. So why back up like this?" You grin as your clones simply soar through the charging mass, each a whirling bullet of destruction flailing about with wings and claws and feet. If the night-demons were human, the battlefield would be a lovely morass of blood and death by now.

"Because I want to keep an eye on the big green one and the big blue one. So that you have space to anchor anyone teleporting in, if necessary. So that if anyone does come through, they don't have to deal with the portal being right in front of them. So that if any major surprises do come through the portal, we aren't right in front of it." Vita slows and looks at you, obviously surprised, and you dart across her to catch and deflect a captain's incoming axe before ripping its head off with a backhanded swing. As you do so, dozens of icy-blue daggers appear around you, just missing you, and launch themselves toward the night-demons.

"Huh. That's not bad, actually." You sniff disdainfully, then throw yourself back into the fray, pulling your clones back to keep them from getting too close to the portal and being unable to support Vita if necessary - after all, they could open up another one somewhere else and flank you.

"Of course! So, is anyone else coming to the party?" You cast a suspicious eye toward the portal; all the brown captains have joined the fight, and only two of them still stand, but the lizard-riding red lord is nowhere to be seen - back into the portal, actually - and the large blue and green night-demons haven't done anything. Worse, the green one is still visible, hasn't even tried to hide. Has it lost that ability, somehow? Perhaps related to the injury that cost it an eye? In any case, now there aren't any major defensive forces at the portal itself on this side - you, Vita, and whoever is coming along can just soar over the swarm and into the portal once everyone is here. Of course, there might be something on the other side, but that's why you lead with expendables and violence.

"Gimme a minute." Vita drifts back, Graf Eisen still at the ready. Red night-demons start filtering through the portal, too, and two of your clones float up to attack them with lethal bullets before they can build up enough numbers to be a threat. Then another burst of icy daggers surge through the air, and Vita charges forward to fight alongside you, grinning. "Alright. Fate and Schach will be down in a minute, along with your servant." You match her grin - and the big blue night-demon finally does something, slamming its palms against the ground as its head whips around frantically. Seemingly in response, a disciplined unit of brown night-demons, mounted on bulky, snarling, sharp-featured hounds trots out of the portal. Vita stands frozen for an instant, and the mounted night-demons lower their lances and charge for her; you give them a moment to trample their brethren, then turn Laevateinn on them - but the blue night-demon's real effect becomes apparent as the riders are partially shielded from the flames. Oily smoke erupts from them, and the first two ranks stagger and tumble, the overwhelming power of your gift burning through their protections, but the remainder leap over and around the fallen - and when you realize that the green night-demon is gone, you whirl around, grab Vita, and throw her over the forest as hard as you can, an instant before massive claws punch into your shoulder, apparently ignoring Loki.

You turn to glare evilly into the night-demons lone eye, but before you can jab your precious gift into it, several tons of night-demon and demonic dog slam into the two of you, wrenching your prey's talons from your shoulder and separating you. Your clones dive toward the portal, catching the blue by its sinuous tail and dragging it back for dismemberment. As for the night-demons swarming you … you pour power into your aura, billowing power gleaming scarlet and disintegrating the creatures - and reacting explosively with the malevolence in the air, based on the explosions that ripple through the air. You sweep your head from side to side, still searching for the green night-demon. It sways, seemingly stunned, and searches the night sky, at least until you ram Laevateinn through its brain. Between you and the still-active portal, a fraction of the night-demons rise lethargically - but what catches your attention is a silvery blast from the sky, coming down toward the town. Vita swoops into view, obviously worried.

"They're attacking all over," she says, and looks up into the sky. That must be Hayate up there, then. "We won't be getting any help, except your servant; at least six portals opened up all over the world and they're pouring out, attacking cities." She tears her eyes away from her family and takes a deep breath. "Go in and stop them at the source, right?" You nod.

What do you do?

[ ] Tell Vita to stay here and help out; you'll find your own way back.
- [ ] Have Satsuki tag along with Vivio; neither of them can fly, and the Sankt-Kaiser needs someone competent to watch her back.
- [ ] Avoid fighting, if possible, while looking for someplace that seems important.
- [ ] Cut through the night-demons; the more you kill, the fewer the others have to deal with.

[ ] Have Satsuki stay behind; she can't fly, and you might need the maneuverability.

- [X] Cut through the night-demons while Vita tries to find someplace important.
- [X] Warn Vita that the big green demon ignored your Barrier Jacket, suggest flight or area denial in case the lesser greens have the same ability.

Satsuki lacks flight, dimensional transfer, and power on our level. Besides, we'd have to wait a little bit for her, and any moment we don't deal with the source means more deaths - not that Flandre would mind, but it's part of her job.

An argument pro taking Satsuki would be that her Reality Marble could maybe disable the tower heart. Would make a nice present for Remilia, it's a power source after all.

Wouldn't Vivio's dislike of us transfer to Satsuki? I think she better stays with Fate.

Does Satsuki posses a device of her own? Can Satsuki rechage the barrier jacket battery that she using with her own mana or it can recharge its reserve on it own?
No, to all three.

On a side note, Satsuki, will probably not be happy that Flandre doesn't want her help... Well, kinda obvious she still need more training for wherever we're going, but still. Hopefully, she use that desire to be more useful in her training.

Not completely sure about Vita going but if anyone can survive the explosions that are sure to happen, especially if we help her out, it's Vita.

"Just the two of us," you say, and Vita gives you a shocked look. You shake your head curtly as you send bursts of energy to your clones and sever your connections with them. Losing your scouting will be frustrating, but at least if the portal severs any existing links, your clones should be fine. "We'll probably need to fly, and she can't, so -"

"You tell her that!" Your clones barrel through the portal, and you suppress a scowl - sure, you won't be coming in on their heels, so you won't be able to take advantage of the chaos, but Satsuki probably won't like this news any more than she liked it last time. And despite the situation, Vita floats to the side and glares at you, crossing her arms as she waits impatiently. A screen appears in front of you, and Satsuki's face lights up.

"Ah, Flandre-sama! I'm all ready, I just need -"

"Change of plans, Satsuki. Stay out here - help Fate and Alph if they need it. Vita and I will have to fly, fast, and with the way things have changed we can't take the time to enjoy ourselves. I'm sorry, Satsuki." You see her expression change to shock - heartbreak - and shift your attention back to Vita. She seems surprised at the brusqueness of your explanation, and she doesn't react quickly enough to stop you from grabbing the front of her battle dress and yanking her in front of you as you hurtle over the horde of night-demons and into the portal.

Once through, you barely manage to avoid slamming into a pillar, crackling with power, and even then only by rebounding off some kind of short tower. You only see two of your clones still fighting when you come out of your corkscrew-flight. "What the hell?!" Vita, barely recovered, wildly swings Graf Eisen in your general direction. "Trying to use me as a shield, just because I made you do your own dirty work?" You sideslip to avoid the strike and backhand the knight.

"You are an idiot, Vita. They wanted me to come here, and they don't care about anyone else. And if you'd looked, you'd have seen that the portal is, indeed, not active anymore. And because you entered before me, you were fine, instead of entering after me and being sliced in half or just left behind, depending on how fast the deactivation occurred. Now, if you're quite through imagining that I'm the only one who can do wrong, we have a job to do." She stares slackjawed at you, although whether it's because of your reasoning or the slap, you can't tell. "We can't be sure they'll stop the invasions just because I'm here - if I were in their place, I wouldn't - so that means we have to stop them the hard way. That means that we need to find someplace important, and since you can teleport, can talk to me in my head, and you aren't extremely furious right now, you get to go do that while I attempt to depopulate this world." You look across the dark void, filled with spinning and circling landmasses in the air, rivers of fire on the presumable ground, and occasional strokes of dark purple lightning.

"Ah - yeah, okay. Um -" You whip Laevateinn across, the tip resting scant centimeters from her nose.

"And before I forget, that big green one went through my Barrier Jacket without any trouble. You should probably keep in the air or just explode the area if you run into them, in case the smaller ones have something similar." She nods once, businesslike once more.

"They do. Shield spells stop them just fine, but barrier and field spells have no effect, and neither do Barrier Jackets and Knight Armor. Thanks for the warning …." She turns away but doesn't move immediately. "… I'll find something that'll really hurt them, don't worry." Then she swoops away and you turn your attention back to the night-demons. You don't fall upon them; that is something that mere mortals do. You are simply there, a merciless avatar of Death and Destruction, cleaving through night-demon flesh with gift and claw and wings, an unceasing engine of violence as you attempt to obliterate your failure with Satsuki.

She could have been useful, certainly … but in the current circumstances, a major hindrance. She just isn't as powerful as you, or even Vita, and her inability to do anything other than fight hand-to-hand reduces her worth even further. And she would be someone you would need to take care of. Against the current press of night-demons, even though they don't seek your death and only try to restrain you, you find yourself using your now-explosive aura to clear them out when they encroach upon you, or turn invisible and fly to a better position among the ruined, half-buried homes. In this place, in this situation, Satsuki would have long ago died unless you took drastic measures to protect her …. Maybe you can explain things properly when you return. If she's still willing to listen. Maybe. If.

In the meantime, you kill, obliterate, destroy. Fighting would imply that your foes have a chance of survival.

"Hey. I found a few places." Vita hisses in pain, and you spin around with a burning Laevateinn, using the momentary respite to turn invisible and flee. Nigh-invincible you may be, but eventually, even you do tire. Especially when you don't hold back. You take out the flask of blood - another gift, this one from Tarbin, not that long ago - and drain it, glad for the temporary peace.

"Where? Are you injured?" The answer takes a moment to reach you.

"I'm fine. I thought I only found two places that might be interesting, but I guess I found three, instead." She chuckles weakly and you wait for her to continue. "Anyway, first place I found looks like the center of their portal network. Don't know what's running it, there don't appear to be any of their magic specialists nearby, nor any buildings, but they're lined up real good. Rein says there could be millions, based on the area they're in and some assumptions about space." You grind your jaws. You haven't broken any eyes, yet, and millions of targets would be a wonderful opportunity … but if there isn't anything you can be sure is creating the portals, all you'll have done is make a temporary setback for the night-demons. "Second place I found is some kind of fortress. It's … really big. Only one door, and it seems to have some kind of fire-creatures guarding it. Don't know what it is, but these things don't do buildings, especially not anything well-put-together like this. So whatever it is, it's got to be important somehow. And the third place … heh. Don't know if I just wasn't paying attention or they hid themselves, but I must have found their magic school or something. One of the floating rocks over here is more like a tower that's been ripped out of the ground, and it's spitting lightning everywhere. Got a good look inside, too - lots of those blues and reds, including a couple really big ones." She coughs. That might be a good target, if you can ensure they stay dead. Not that that should be a problem ….
