You know, forgot to comment on this last update, but Alph's change about us is a tad surprising. I guess her and Satsuki are talking between spars?

If I recall correctly, Jail gave her some kind of treatment to enhance her magical potential. I don't know that it actually altered her genotype, rather than her phenotype, though.
Well, we know that the main reasons Precia rejected Fate was:
-Eye color is wrong. Red instead of green.
-Handedness is inverted(this one is odd, if she had a memory import she'd have overridden the 'natural' handedness via memory).
-Magic ability, Alicia had average magic ability, Fate had very high magic ability AND a rare elemental affinity.

Which given that Fate woke up fully believing she was Alicia at first...points to the whole resleeve dead girl project being a success if she was cloned straight.

Mind you, Precia was bugnuts crazy, so theres that. But those attributes point to Jail having messed with the process to create a supersoldier template, since a straight clone would be very unlikely to change eye color under any circumstances.

Well, like I said, he probably made changes but he might not have altered her DNA any, you can create one-eyed fish just by exposing them to certain chemicals while they're embryos, I'd believe you could change a human's eye color that way.

Their eye color is actually the same; in both A's and the movies, Alicia's eyes are red, just like Fate's. Their magic color may be different, going off a couple suggestions, but I'm not sure Alicia is ever actually shown using magic, so that's more of an educated guess by fans than a statement.

As far as magical ability - I'm not sure we can blame Jail for that, not unless Presea had him doing the legwork (which doesn't seem indicated by how much stuff she had at the Garden of Time). Fate is an Artificial Mage, and the entire point of an Artificial Mage is to get a mage that's really good at magic; Project Fate is basically 'take an artificial mage and give it someone's memories so you get a clone of that person,' so blaming Jail for the project working as intended and getting Alicia+ is ... well, Presea-level crazy, I guess.

Mission - Night-Demons VI
[X] Tell her about the forest.
- [X] Volunteer to go along as spokesperson.

You look down at the table and tap your fingers for a moment before sighing. "… Maybe. There was a village - where those people who've been attacking you attacked, don't think I ever saw what it was called -"

"Teufelwald." You give Carim a disgusted look, and she shrugs. "It seems to be a popular name, actually." You sigh again. Really.

"Well, I first saw these night-demons in the … forest near that place. If there's a place where they won't attack me, at least, that's probably it. … I don't suppose there's been any fighting near it?" Verossa shakes his head.

"No, actually, it's been very quiet throughout that region." You nod, more to yourself than to him.

"Would you be willing to help establish communications with them?" You smile toothily at her.

"I am willing, Carim. For now, you just want to be able to co-exist with them, if possible, right?" She nods.

"I will come with you -" Whatever else she tries to say is drowned out by Vivio, Verossa, and Hayate all clamoring for her not to go. Carim looks surprised at their vehemence, and you restore order by the simple method of banging on the table. You scowl at the noisemakers before looking back at Carim.

"No, you won't. In the first place, you're the head of the Church, and ambassadors exist so you don't have to run around talking to each individual representative yourself, especially on first contact. Second, we don't actually know they won't be hostile, so I'd prefer a real fighter, one that I don't need to worry so much about protecting. Third, if anything did happen to you, I'd be much better off not coming back, either." Carim winces at your last point - but Vivio, too, blinks confusedly, and Carim looks preoccupied for a moment before Vivio jerks away huffily. Ah, a lesson. Did it take? Carim smiles gently as she focuses back on you.

"Would you be amenable to being accompanied by Sister Schach in my stead, then? She knows enough to be able to negotiate effectively in the event of extended talks without contact with us." You frown, thinking, and tap your lips.

"I would … but can she teleport?" Carim frowns questioningly. "The night-demons come from somewhere, right? They have portals going somewhere, at least, and if they can use them offensively, it would be a good idea to have someone who can escape on their own." Carim slumps, and you shake your head quickly at Verossa as he starts to point at you. True, you can't escape on your own, either - but you're pretty sure that if things go badly enough that you need to escape, Patchouli will yank you back to Gensokyo … you just aren't sure if she'll take anyone she doesn't have to take back, too.

"… I'll go." You lean forward to look down the table at Vita. The little knight had been so quiet, you'd just about forgotten that she was there! "I'm a Belkan Knight, even if I'm not directly associated with the Church, I'm probably the next-toughest person here after Flandre, and maybe the Sankt-Kaiser, and I can teleport. If we're going to send someone with her, I'm the best choice." Carim looks at you and you shrug - you don't exactly have a problem with her coming, after all.

"If you're going to go, you're taking Rein." Vita splutters.

"What?! No, I'll be fine by myself! Besides -!" Hayate jerks toward Vita and the knight cuts herself off, and after a moment of staring wordlessly at Hayate she looks away unhappily. Hayate stands stiffly and storms out of the room, but you're pretty sure you hear her start running once she's away from the door.

"… We'll let you know whether anyone's going with you, and when they'll be ready to leave." You nod and Fate quietly rises, bows to Carim and Vivio, and walks out after Hayate. You nod at Carim, glance at Alph and Vita, and gesture for Satsuki to follow you. She's not going to like this ….

"What?" You shrug at Vita and stop staring at her.

"You look weird like that." She snorts and flies ahead of you. Her red dress is now white, her hair is more carrot-orange than red, and her eyes are a washed-out pale blue instead of piercing. It doesn't suit her very well.

"… Rein and I don't have great compatibility. We still get a lot of benefit from Unison, but she's more suited to helping Hayate. Anyway, where are going to meet these things?" You catch up and pass her, then drop down into the forest, landing lightly on the ground. Vita descends and lands next to you. Just the two of you - well, three, with Rein. Satsuki wasn't happy about being forced to stay behind, but if it does turn bloody, you at least want her to be able to come in with the others instead of having to try and weather the initial storm along with you and Vita. You start walking deeper into the forest, waiting for that 'being watched' feeling - but instead of that, the ground ahead of you surges and ripples, and a familiar rock formation of black stone tears out of the forest floor. An orange orb bursts into existence above the steps, and while you can't see through this one, it doesn't disgorge a horde of night-demons for you to wade through. Instead, you're met by a mere dozen. One is blue, sinuous and almost draconic in appearance, its long and narrow face glaring at Vita. Another is green, almost as tall as Schach, with long claws jutting out of the backs of its hands and a mane of spikes running along its spine. One eye is missing, but it twists its head to keep both of you in view. Three reds, all tall - two are familiar, and you scowl at the one you killed, but the third is bulky and muscular and rides a strange lizardlike creature. Six of the remaining night-demons are browns - or blacks, perhaps, given their deep coloration. All six are massive brutes, all carry weapons - and, for the first time, all six are wearing armor. Simple, rugged-looking armor, without care for fine deflection or appearance, but if it's as effective as their weapons are …. The eleven night-demons split into two groups, six and five, and they all drop to one knee - excepting the one on the lizard, it simply bows over its mount's head.

"Ah, you came, you came! You have finally arrived!" The twelfth night-demon, a runt even shorter than you, withered and lame, and wearing what were once, perhaps, nice robes, claps one hand against the back of the other, its yellowish eyes fixed on you and what is probably a delighted grin stretching its mouth. Then it looks at Vita and its expression twists into one of disgust. "Ah, we can get rid of the pest, of course, but once it's gone, we can get going with the binding!"

"Pest?" Vita holds out Graf Eisen not quite threateningly as the speaker night-demon walks closer and begins studying you more carefully. Four of the brown night-demons, the blue, and all the reds, all stand up and leer at Vita.

"Binding? What do you want me to do?" That causes the creature to halt and peer at you curiously.

"Do? Why, lead us, of course! For all these centuries since those damned 'Kaisers' invaded and killed our last rulers, we've been without any proper Masters! Oh, we've looked, of course - kidnapped promising children, but always, always, they failed one test or another. Either they weren't evil enough, or they weren't magically strong enough, or they just couldn't handle the stress of the binding. But you!" It rubs its claws together gleefully, almost toppling itself before it gets its cane back in place. "Ah, you're properly evil, you're strong, and you're still so young, too! Once you've grown some more, who knows how powerful you'll be!" Your eyes narrow as the wrinkled creature cackles to itself.

"Oh, come on! This is your chance! You could be even greater than your sister, now!" You shake your head at Headless's claim.

"Only if she lets me. Only if either I stay here, or they decided to come with me to Gensokyo - and if they come to Gensokyo, either they have to change, or I have to start a war and destroy it." Headless huffs, and you clear your throat. The creature cocks its head, listening. "By 'lead,' you mean … what, specifically?" Its head bobs eagerly.

"Oh, you would direct us, and lead us to taking back the planet - I must say, it's been so damn inconvenient, trying to run an invasion when you're as worn out as I am! I was only supposed to be a chamberlain, a temporary placeholder until our Masters returned, but those damned Belkans must have done a thorough job out here. Oh, you wouldn't be able to leave the planet, of course, but there's plenty of space in the Towers for any slaves or friends you want to bring in. But first - let us be rid of this Belkan pest, and then withdraw to safety." The rest of the night-demons rise as the wrinkled creature shuffles back, and you hear a whir and multiple chunks from behind you as the air fills with hostility and malice. Frankly, not being able to leave the planet, now that you know other worlds exist, and can have so much fun ….

"Explosion!" Graf Eisen's voice, with its soothing accent. That would be Vita, getting ready to fight … but the portal is right there ….

What do you do?

[ ] Send Vita back to the others; she's in too much danger here.
- [ ] Fight back the night-demons.
- [ ] Try to get them to leave the rest of the world alone.
- - Reasoning?
- [ ] Head through the portal; maybe you can get something done on that side.

[ ] Two against a lot is better than one against a lot. Fight the night-demons alongside Vita.
- [ ] … But you're going to have to break into the portal at some point ….

[ ] Maybe you can get them to stand down if you're angry enough. (Roll required.)
- [ ] Go with Vita to the night-demons' realm.
- [ ] Keep talking here.
- - [ ] Try to get them to leave the rest of the world alone.
- - - Reasoning?

[ ] Other?

Well, that's just short-sighted thinking. Bound to a single planet? Hah! We could probably find some planets where they'd count as an improvement if we looked hard enough.

Also, we're, like, centuries old.

The definition of assume: to make an ass of you and me. This guy is so hilariously out of date on intel it's actually kinda funny. And since the steward openly revealed the night-demons existence, they're actually kinda fucked. Because while Headless does have a point that this is an opportunity to be more powerful than Remilia, it's comes with drawbacks that can't really be overcome. I don't see Flandre taking up their offer to be their ruler. Which renders their choice to be overt completely moot.

It's not even in the choices to start with.

A: I'm now smugging. Called that.
B: It's entirely possible to render them comparatively benign. Long term evil gains are better than short term cruelty.
But I'm not gonna try to word that out well.

I think an effective method to control the night demons is to bind them to House Scarlet, Instead of Flandre herself. We gotta remember that Yukari is breathing down our neck; With some extra motivation to attack us because we are too dangerous, well, there comes a point where we are too dangerous to do anything about. If we can somehow control these individuals, inform them about the modern times, and give them to The Scarlet Manor, well, the possibilities are endless. We are still vampires after all, but there are some groups of humans that we can give exceptions to.

It wouldn't make any sense not to take them. Instead of outright purging them on the hypocrisy that they are evil, where in the PMMM chapters Flandre outright stated that she was the enemy of humanity itself as a concept; We should still control them in a way that they will attack places that we want them to attack, but not places that we don't want them to attack. It would always be nice to have an army of attack dogs with us if we were theoretically going to another verse, because we can't do everything by ourselves. Hell, at the very least it would be nice to have an army of cannon-fodder to make us seem at first glance like the threat we really are, and It would make individuals or factions take us more seriously to the point where Flandre personally won't have to slaughter entire populations because one random 'evil' king\world leader is like "hahaha That little girl would make an excellent slave", we don't have to waste Flandre's time cleaning out their worthless population while we are just there to explore and find good trouble. Flandre just wants to have fun; Some random guy shouldn't make her pleasure trips suddenly turn into business.

So, instead, we get somebody else to do it for us; Tada, here come the nightdemons in our steed.

It will be a trade-off; The nightdemons can go purge and sack any suitable or practically non-sensical verses, just like they want to do, while we can do what this entire quest is about. And if we want them to follow us or the rest of the Scarlets, they will do so no questions asked.

And in the benefit of the TSAB and the Chruch, they will leave them alone, and maybe even assist them through these troubling times. These minions know who's the boss; They know they can't beat us.

They will not protest as soon as we:

  • A) Tell them who we really are
  • B) Tell them that they don't have to attack the TSAB anymore, and why
  • C) Tell them what happened while they were sleeping
  • and D) Show a sufficient amount of force to put them in their place; Maybe permanently popping one of their eyes would do.

Because TBH, passing off actual numbers, while they are weak in quality, is baffling to me.

Also, I don't know why we want to become more powerful than Remilia. We have no reason to do so. Flandre and Remilia are basically on the same team, so I don't know why we are given headless any consideration on that fact.

But I agree that in some capacity we should calm them down first. They don't have to attack the TSAB, but I don't think outright destroying them is the best answer.

[X] Maybe you can get them to stand down if you're angry enough. (Roll required.)
-[X] Explain, in traditional Scarlet fashion, on why they should obey.
--[X] Tell them how old you really are
--[X] Show them how threatening you really are
--[X] etc. etc. etc, Basically how we have dealt with every non-complacent individual throughout this journey.
-[X] Try to get them to leave the rest of the world alone.
--[X] Catch them up on modern events
--[X] Tell them that even creatures of the night need to make exceptions sometimes; If they didn't, I wouldn't be standing here right now
--[X] There are far better targets in the multiverse than the TSAB and the remnants of the Belkan Empire
-[X] If they don't obey, we go on to Plan B; Permanently eliminate most of them until they stand down, under the threat of them being kyuu'd forever.

Any ideas? I would like to get a contract set up between us and them that denies them of loopholes, but I won't try to word that today with what little time I have left.

Poor Arisa. Nobody remembers her.

Which is sad, because both of Nanoha's earthfriends are actually really neat. In the original material that Nanoha's actually from, one is straight up a vampire and the other's a ghost, if I'm remembering correctly.

Still as strong as a vampire lol.
Poor Fate did not expect to need shields in dodgeball.

They're evil for the sake of evil. And I don't believe they care much for such long-term views.
.

Irrelevant. I have specifically stated in my post that they will be able to do as much plundring as they can to factions that we do not give exception to, and in return they will give us service.

It's much less than an agreement with them or even binding them to us. It is exploitation of their goals in their pitful lives for our benifit.

They can do whatever they want on any planet, as long as it is not a planet that we give exception to. Preferably a place in another franchise, if we can. Not in Gensokyo, but to a diffrent place that they can faff about in until we need them. They will be able to commit to their 'short term evil', while we do much more important things with our time.

I'm not saying that we directly take them under our command. I'm saying that we will, on paper, be their overlord, but in reality they are just there as semi-vassels, and will come to us when we need them in return for an abundance of their version of pleasure. In other words, they are merely glorified servants in the end, and they will never know about that fact if they are so unopen-minded as you claim.

And in the end, they will listen because with a sufficient show of force and after an explanation on who we are, they will follow. Afterall, most of the voters that have voted so far seem to be confident in our victory; They will not pass such an offer up because we will give them what they want on a much grander scale, and if they don't listen they will be wiped out.

We win:

  • More servants
  • Loyal minions
  • minions that won't complain about morals
  • minions that will be easily put down if they rebel.
They win:

  • A proper master that's an actual king of the night
  • An all for-the-evuls trip to a random francise that they can terrorise. Basically what we have been doing for this entire game but on a grand scale.
  • Service to a house of vampires that are conceptally the enemies of humanity and of 'evil'
  • They don't permanently get kyuu'd

The nightdemons aren't important; but why destroy them when we can, when everything is said and done, enslave them?

Besides, this is a vote to see if they agree. If they don't... Well, it was worth a shot, so then, they will die as promised in the contract.
