[X] Call the Four Sisters' Music Hall and see if they'll let you use their contacts to help repair the piano.
You finish sorting the cleaning supplies and stick your head back inside the piano for a moment. "This … is important?" Oh, bother. You sigh quietly and pull your head back out of the piano.
"Important to me, anyway. No doubt it's only as important in the long term as I am. Ginga, do you have a telephone I can use? And the number for the Four Sisters' Music Hall?" Nove seems to be wrestling with what you said, and Wendi is watching her carefully. Ginga nods slowly.
"Ah, sure … just a moment. Why do you want to call them?" A screen appears in front of her and you force back a scowl - does everything they do use that? Is there just an implicit assumption that everyone is going to be tied into their network all the time?
"I'm going to need a bit of help with a few things, and they're probably the most efficient option." Ginga nods and gestures for you to use the screen. You nod politely and make sure your wings are tucked neatly behind your back; you should probably find out if the mask works through these video-phones, but it can definitely wait. The blank screen abruptly changes, showing a middle-aged woman wearing the expected Church attire.
"Good morning, this is the Four Sisters' Music Hall, and I am Sister Mary Clarence. How may I help you?" You bow your head politely.
"Hello, Sister Mary Clarence. My name is Flandre Scarlet. I visited your music hall earlier today, and while I wasn't able to find something I was looking for, I was quite impressed with your selection. More to the point, the materials all seemed to be of quite high quality, and I was hoping you might be willing to help with some material acquisition for my own project." Sister Mary Clarence frowns and rubs her chin before shrugging.
"Well, I suppose it depends on what you need. What are you doing?" You look up at Ginga and then back a the piano; she obviously understands what you want before you say anything, because Mary Clarence's eyes widen. "Wow. That is a project, all right." You nod, not sure if she can still see you.
"Yep. What I'm most hoping for your assistance with is the soundboard; the plate is fine, and the casing is in surprisingly good condition, but for some inane reason parts of the soundboard were replaced instead of the whole thing. The metalwork shouldn't be hard at all to find a supplier for, but the soundboard … I'd like to know that it comes from a place that works with instruments already, so I know that they're used to the sort of particulars instruments can require." She nods and leans back in her chair, humming a rapid little tune to herself.
"Well, I think we can work with you. Depending on what you need, it'll probably be a lot less expensive if we work as the intermediary than if you try to go to them directly." You nod; it's not exactly unexpected, after all.
"That's fine. You want the whole list?" At her nod you smile and begin going through your list. The felt hammer coverings, as much for consistency as because they need it; the several hundred strings, although when you start listing thicknesses the sister stops you and asks for just the highest, lowest, and mid-point thicknesses; the springs and other 'little bits'; and finally the soundboard. "I'd like for it to be made of spruce, if possible, but I'm honestly not sure what sorts of local woods are suitable for soundboards, particularly that size." Mary Clarence stretches her shoulders before rubbing her chin thoughtfully.
"Hmm … spruce? Don't think I've even heard of that one." You wince and she chuckles. "How about this - I'll get this sent over to our supplier, and they'll send someone to check their numbers and see about the soundboard material. Probably tomorrow, might be the day after. Will that be alright?" You look at Ginga and she shrugs.
"It should be fine, as long as we know they're coming. If they come tomorrow, it'd be better if they show up before mid-afternoon, though." You blink and shake your head.
"No, I don't know the address. Do I just tell her we're at Long Arch and that's enough, or is there something more complicated than that?" Ginga freezes and Sister Mary Clarence laughs. Ginga shakes her head and rubs her face before giving you a look, then passes on the address.
"Alright, that should be enough, at least for now. I'm sure the representative will be able to let you know if there's anything else, and he'll pass along the price for everything as well. Is there anything else?" You shake your head.
"No, not right now. Thank you for your help, Sister Mary Clarence." You bow politely and she returns it.
"Not a problem. I hope everything works out for you." The screen blanks and you sigh. Everything seems to be going well!
"Thank you, Ginga." You nod to her and she smiles.
"It's not anything too difficult, I guess. Fate'll be coming here tomorrow evening, and we're going to have a little party. A shame we won't be able to hear you play, but I'm sure she'll be glad to know that you have something keeping you busy. And you'll be able to talk with her about what you want to do while you're here." You nod and start moving the metal parts away from the piano so you can give it a good, thorough cleaning. It's probably a good thing Satsuki isn't here, or she might feel obligated to help; you'll teach her how eventually, of course, but for now, working alone is better.
