Hang on. We are a known threat, to the point of making people panic and firing into an area filled with civilians.

We know that there are trained professionals with heavy ordinance tracking us.

We know that several magical girls are willing to attack us unprovoked.

We were just recently weakened by a good amount of sunshine, and possible hunger (how long since we ate?).

Maybe we shouldn't return to the scene of "the crime" in a highly public place just yet?

GM has stated that we are NOT invincible; we can get into a fight that is a legit threat to us.

Plus, maybe not get close to people we know (OOC) that if they get hurt, might make an enemy with one of the few people around who could actually pose a legit threat to us (time stop is mad hax yo)?

Welp.

Well, to be fair, we can't go around being afraid to do anything or talk to anyone because they might get destroyed.

Not interacting with the people of the setting takes away a huge amount of the appeal of a crossover in the first place.

I understand that, but is Junko even going to be in any recogniseable and human looking shape or form anyway.

You decide to wait the rest of the day in your lair before you make any moves. You did give that girl until the end of the day to give her answer, after all, and while it's not technically breaking anything if you leave, it's kind of taking away her option to choose - if she can't find you, after all, she can't agree or disagree, so you would be changing the amount of time she had to make her choice. Of course, you're pretty sure that wouldn't actually stop you from leaving if you had anything more important to do ... but you can't really think of anything more important.

So you spend the first few hours of the new day amusing yourself - you try to spin as many lethal bullets around you as you can without losing control (twelve - the best you've ever managed was sixteen, and that was with Remilia watching); you have your clones hide as best they can, then cut the connection between them and have one try to find the others; you recite poetry and random book chapters to yourself; on a whim, you have one of your clones take off her shirt for you to hold, then dismiss them, but the clothes fade along with the clones. Eventually, though, you run out of things to do - there are only so many short-term amusements you know, and you don't have any toys, instruments, or even any books or maps! So you finally get to what you were dreading - actual work.

Not that it's really work. You don't even really consider it work, but it's something that's not fun, and it's something that you're sure Patchouli and Remilia will praise you for doing on your own. You take out Kyouko and Mami's Soul Gems; the former is still a pure and clean red, the latter is still a black-bubbling yellow. You carefully - so very carefully - run a finger along the entirety of each Gem and casing, searching for flaws. You find none, and then you hold each one up to your eyes, staring deeply into it before setting it down. Then you take a deep breath and pick up Kyouko's Soul Gem. You breathe slowly, evenly, and hold the Gem in your left hand, while you focus on an image of yourself holding Kyouko's spear in your right hand. ... But nothing happens. You keep trying, swapping hands, imagining the spear appearing in a burst of red light, even trying to imagine one of Remilia's spears instead, but they all fail. Well, you didn't really expect any results, but you can keep trying again some other time, and maybe you'll get lucky! Finally, you examine the beautiful red jewel once more, looking for that inky blackness, but you can't see any. Satisfied, you put both Soul Gems away and take out a piece of the candy you got. You lick it, and once you realize that, yes, it is peppermint, you pop it in your mouth, sucking on the delicious treat.

By now, though, the sun is beginning to rise. The trains above are beginning to move more frequently, people are out and about. And unless you want to go out again, you've pretty much run out of distractions! So you transform into a bat and crawl into the nook to go to sleep, slipping into the dreamless dark.

You wake up as the traffic picks up in the afternoon, yawning and scrubbing your cheeks after changing back to your normal form. You glance down at your shirt, wondering if there's some bit of magic Remilia never tried to teach you to fix your clothes, because you've seen her clothes repair themselves after she turns into a cloud of bats. Or maybe she just had dozens of the same outfit hidden away? You shrug and make a mental note to ask your sister when you see her again.

You make your way to the main entrance, still caved in from Satsuki's attack. Their bodies are still there, and Eri and Momo still haven't recovered. You go over all three girls again, looking for Soul Gems or Grief Seeds you missed before. You still don't find anything. The only interesting things you find that you missed beforehand are two silver rings, one on Satsuki and the other on Momo, both with gems inset. You shrug and leave them alone - rings get in the way, and they aren't the right colors for anyone else to be interested. Then you settle down to wait.

... You end up waiting for a long time before you hear the click of a heel against stone behind you. A cheap trick, but you're sure you know what she's doing.

"... I must refuse your request to have me serve as your maid," she says after a moment. You shrug.

"I guessed as much, when you didn't stop by yesterday. Is it because of that?" Grinning, you tilt your head back, ponytail swishing, and she flinches. Strange.

"The incident yesterday played a part, yes. But ... perhaps I would have said no anyway." She looks away, frowning. "There's too much ..." she mutters to herself, probably too quietly for a human to hear, then shakes her head and looks calmly at you.

"Well, then, I guess I'll be off, then," you say, maintaining your position. She nods at you - then she's gone. You still don't know her name, but it's probably not important. You wait a few minutes, then stretch out and walk to one of the smaller entrances. You're going to get some new clothes this time.

It doesn't take you long to reach the ruined food shops, and you're surprised to see that the rubble has been mostly cleared away - then you see a lot of big carriages, some like giant wheelbarrows and some with huge claws. You shrug, though, and fly down to the entrance where you activated Laevateinn. There aren't any lights in the area, but the stars and moon are more than bright enough for you - they're bright enough even for a night-blind human, you think. You have no trouble finding the three stores the man told you about earlier ... or two of them, anyway. One of them seems to have taken some damage when you unleashed your flames. Whoops.

You land in the avenue between the other two stores and look at them in turn. You don't really see anything that would lead to one being better than the other, though, so you just shrug and go into the one on your right. You have to pull the door off to get in, but it doesn't really matter. You spend a minute walking around until you find the clothes that would fit you reasonably well. Most are ugly or have too much clutter, but a few catch your eye - specifically, two red dresses that you won't even have to fiddle with too much to get into by yourself! You grab three of each and quickly change, then put the extras and your old clothes away, tucked next to Laevateinn. Pirouetting and giggling, you make your way back to the entrance.

As you step out, a carriage turns onto the avenue, bright beams shining straight at you. You pause, staring at it, and the carriage slides to a halt. You're pretty sure the people inside are talking about something - probably you - and you turn to face the carriage fully. The carriage squeals and its lights shut off as it speeds straight back away from you. You giggle and fly up, wondering where to go next. It's not something you had really thought about ....

-[X] We need to get a few more grief seeds to clean that ugly yellow gem so let's track some youkai down.
--[X] Besides there may be more witches about looking for those seeds too so it's possible well find someone that will give a decent fight.

Personally I find the best parts of this quest being when we interact with the normal people, people like Junko and random strangers. Granted it does tend to end in death and destruction simply because we don't really view humans as people before they can befriend us. The last bit of that update made me think of maybe a particularly gutsy person sorta interviews us when we are walking about in public again with his phone. Knowing that we are perfectly capable of making mince meat of people armed with guns will maybe mean things would go smoother that time.

Hmm can vampires eat Youkai? Really for a crazy murderous vampire quest filled with interesting new creatures filled with blood and blood like substances there really hasn't been enough taste testing. After all Flandre could become the first cross-dimensional gourmet vampire of the family that'd impress everyone back in Gensokyo.

Seems the police are a lot smarter than the military.

We still have Mami's head along with her soul gem. I wonder how long before we can logic out the fact we could fix Mami ourselves to get a nice fight again?
