Well, we could always get a rendition of UN Owen done by Demetori or maybe SoundHolic. That one cover done by EastNewSound is still awesome though, it would fit this Quest more.
I wonder what's going on back home. The SDM must be freaking out with Flan missing on a different world.
You know, since there's enough magic on this world for the incubators to master it to a freakin' SCIENCE, and the humans are all so weak and ignorant Flan can eat them and still walk down the street, I can imagine youkai actually emigrating here once word gets out.
I can imagine it now. A team gets sent out to find Flan, until someone goes: "wow, this place is nice maybe we could stay awhile. " When they don't come back more youkai go to investigate, etc....
I'm not sure that's the case; Incubators don't seem to understand magic or how it works, they just take advantage of its existence. They're like people with the keys to the armory - they can hand out any weapon to someone they're dealing with, but can't actually use those weapons themselves.
Your head swivels back and forth for a moment, torn between the human who doesn't seem to fear you and the witch who's revealing herself to you. You stare at the witch as her eyes widen and she slumps in her seat, making sure you will remember her features. You'll find her again later, you're sure, and you wave at the witch and her suddenly-concerned companion before heading for the entrance to the food shop with the woman. She watches as you play with the door for a moment - it opens for you when you get close! - and you see the witch being helped out of the other store by her dark-haired companion as you sit down across from the woman.
"Is she a friend of yours, Flandre-chan?" The woman seems concerned, but not worried, and you're definitely not noticing any of the signs of fear! Then she extends a hand, smiling. "Ah, I'm sorry, I should have introduced myself - Junko Kaname. And you're the famous Flandre," she finishes as you gently - so gently - shake her hand, and you giggle as you put away your parasol.
"Yes! I'm Flandre Scarlet. And I'm really famous? Hehe! Finally!" You're so happy, you can't control yourself, and you start wiggling in your seat! The woman frowns, though.
"I'm not sure you should be so happy about being famous for destroying most of a city block, killing a news reporter, and slaughtering forty-two people in a private club," she says. Such a typically human reaction ... but it doesn't really matter to you.
"Ah, I'm just so happy to finally be famous for me, not because of my sister! Usually it's just, 'Oh, it's just the Sister of the Scarlet Devil,' or 'Great, it's the little sister,' or 'Remilia, do something about your crazy sister before I lock her up for real!'" Your grin fades a bit as you remember things said and unsaid, and how Remilia would hold you close if she thought you'd heard anything that could upset you. But then you turn serious, and your eyes flick to the woman. "But I wonder how you knew it was me at the other place." You mentally file away the term "private club" as a place inappropriate for you to let stand if you find anymore.
"Security cameras," Junko says after a few seconds, and at your confused look she gestures up at the ceiling, towards a glossy black hemisphere. "They record things that happen and let people watch them later. Most people thought that what happened to Mizuno-san was a hoax, something to boost their ratings - magic isn't real, you know? - and then a few hours later the security video was leaked, and ... well, some people still think it's a hoax, but a lot people are convinced it's true."
"Hm. Oh!" You shake one finger as you correct her. "I didn't kill that reporter, uh, Mizuno-san? That was someone else." She raises her eyebrows. "It's true. Someone else did. I'd just finished killing Mami-chan for the second time, and Miki-chan had just run off," her self-control breaks for a moment as you mention those names, "and then they came by so I decided to say hello! ... Well, actually, Miki-chan had just run off, so I was kind of hoping it was something I could fight, because none of the fights so far have been really interesting, you know? But they just wanted to talk, so I was going to talk. Then someone destroyed their flying machine." You kind of wish you could say who, but you're reminded that you don't know that girl's name. And a description won't help much unless she's seen the girl in question.
"Miki, hmm ...?" Junko's eyes seem to lose focus for a moment, then they widen fractionally as she sees something over your shoulder; turning to look, you see a bunch of uniformed men trying to keep a crowd of people back. One woman jumps through them; she's tackled almost immediately, and a knife she was holding skitters across the floor. You giggle at the thought of an ordinary human harming you with a simple knife. "It's not funny, Flandre-chan. You've ruined people's lives."
"So? They're only humans, what do they matter?" You turn back to her, noting as you do that there's another group of soldiers forming up outside, though this one seems armed. "And it's really funny that someone wants to try killing me with a normal knife! I mean, look," you gesture at your ruined shirt, "I've been shot in the heart by a gun, stabbed through the heart with a sword, and had a staff rammed through my chest. And that's just been in the past week! And why I came here, actually." You calm down, remembering your goal. "I need a new shirt. But I was distracted, by that pale-haired witch, and by the human who didn't seem to fear me." You stare intently at her. "Why don't you seem to fear me, Junko Kaname?"
You never hear her answer, though, because just before her mouth opens you notice the bullet pierce the glass. If you'd been prepared, you might have been able to dodge it - but not this close, without being ready. The bullet hits you just above your left eye, deflects through your eye and tears through the back of your head. Junko freezes for a second, pales, then starts to stand and reach toward you. Then you recover, and your gaze flicks to the soldiers outside. A man on top of the carriage seems to be getting yelled at, and his gun is definitely pointed toward you. You casually grab the edge of the table and flip it away from you, tearing it from the floor and sending Junko flying as well. Then you smash the glass.
It occurs to you that you're not really acting like yourself. You've always been so fast, so eager - Remilia would fight with a minimum of effort, walking slowly through the melee, barely seeming to lash out, and always seeming to know what was coming; you, on the other hand, would charge into groups of enemies, scattering them and shattering them, then pick a different group, or sometimes a leader. You ignored the petty rabble that melted around your sister - they weren't worth your time. But now you're moving like Remilia ... slowly, almost casually. You pull Laevateinn out as you walk closer and closer to the soldiers; you can see their fear, almost taste the terror, even as some of them level their weapons at you. It doesn't matter. You know they're going to die.
Maybe it's because she always seemed to have a plan. She could just ... move through her foes because she knew how they would act? That never concerned you - you just wanted a fight, something fun and exciting. Maybe she was just really good at focusing on everything, instead of just one thing. You could stalk, could hound, could move with slow and relentless power, but never when it was a group. Only when it was a lone individual, when you had control of the situation. Was that it? Did you take control of the situation away from her ...?
You're a bit over twenty meters from the soldiers now, just at the entrance. You raise Laevateinn, and the rest of them raise their guns, but you know what's going to happen. You're ready for the intense blast of heat and light as you pour enough power through your gift to extend the blade sixty meters. None of them scream, but you hear screaming from behind you. Right. That woman wanted to kill you. You grip Laevateinn with both hands and spin to your right. It's always so strange, for flames to have mass and weight. You've asked Remilia about it, but she never seemed to understand it either. No matter. You can compensate. It's hard and slow, but you do it, and you don't even flinch when the roof collapses on you. You arc the blade over your head after you complete a full circle, then shut it off.
All of a sudden, you're so tired. You just want to go to sleep, get out of the sun, get back underground where it's nice and safe. You wearily turn invisible, then quickly make your way back to the station. You don't bother with anything fancy, you just curl up in one of the tunnels and wait for that girl. You think that after the fuss you made, she'd show up - she seems like the kind of person to complain about everything that doesn't go her way.
But she never shows up. And you never got a replacement shirt.
What do you do?
[ ] Wait for the girl before leaving.
[ ] Leave Immediately.
- Leave a note or clue? (Write-in if chosen)
[ ] Where to go?
- [ ] Across the River.
- - [ ] North
- - [ ] South
- [ ] Mami's old place.
- [ ] Write-in
EDIT: Could I get someone to roll a D2 titled "Yes or No"?
[X] Leave Immediately.
-[X] Leave a note saying that prospective maids have to wait there.
[X] Go north and find something nice to eat and then something nice to fight.
-[X] Also find some new clothes
Edit: Added in finding some clothes. Seriously Flandre, you need to learn to focus.
I would say "I told you so, to stay away from the Kaname's", but given the sheer amount of collateral caused because of the soldiers and Flandre's retaliation, realistically, Junko was sort of screwed by just being anywhere near there, no matter which option we chose.
Since yes comes first and no comes second and you rolled a two that means Junko is alive for sure!
Nothing can convince me otherwise.
*puts fingers in ears* "Nothing!"
From the way it sounded it seems more like a nervous sniper got trigger happy rather than it being planned. In fact the moment the sniper fired everyone realized they were completely fucked.
Edit: relevant quote
A man on top of the carriage seems to be getting yelled at, and his gun is definitely pointed toward you.
That's not mention it could easily have been caused by outside intervention, there's plenty of people with access to guns or magic that would want to see Flandre either dead, in trouble or causing chaos.
