[X] "Aw, she broke again . . . but that's okay, she can be fixed, can't she?"
-[X] If Sayaka attacks, sock it to her. If she doesn't, ask if now she'll take you to some youkai to fight. If she says she can't be fixed:
--[X] "Why not? It happened last time. I'll even help if she'll play some more with me after."
You look at Mami's eyes and smile, then put on an expression of sadness. "Aww, she broke again! That's no fun ...." You look down, and Miki is still staring at you, shocked. You plummet, stopping just before the ground, and smile down at her as she falls back. "But that's okay, isn't it? She can be fixed, just like before, right?" You hold Mami's head in front of you, looking down at the girl.
"
It's okay, Miki-san! I'll be better in no time!" You put the head away next to Laevateinn as the girl cowers, closing her eyes and covering her ears; you note that the body loses its fancy outfit, going back to the regular shirt and skirt you remember. You rarely mimic voices - it usually gets you into trouble - but it's good to know you haven't lost your touch. You quietly swoop down, landing just behind the terrified girl, and lean in, breathing deep as you gently -
so gently - pull one hand away from her ear. You wish she would respect you ... but fear and terror are nearly as good.
"Don't worry, Miki-chan," you whisper softly in her ear, and she's so terrified she stops shivering. "There, there - I'm not going to hurt you. I forgive you for putting a sword through my chest, for throwing away my graciousness." She's breathing heavily, the short, sharp gasps almost musical. "I forgive - if you'll just answer a question for me?" She nods jerkily, and you let her go, circling around and landing so you aren't quite so intimidating. You wait until she's looking at you before asking, "Where's a strong youkai I can fight?" She blinks in confusion.
"... W- ... what?" You glare ferociously, and she scrambles back. "I-I-I-I'm s-sorry! I ... I ...." She hangs her head. "I'm not that good at this," she finally says, and you pout unhappily. That's no fun. You're not sure what you want to ask her next - where her other friend is, the one who saved her earlier? Why she isn't embarrassed to be wearing so little clothing? Why none of the magicians seem to use actual spells?
Why isn't she wearing a hat??? Unfortunately, before you can think of something, a certain thumping sound grows louder, approaching you, and the two of you look up. It's a strange flying machine that you've seen occasionally over the past few nights ... but Miki freezes up. "Oh ... oh no! I have to get out of here!" You grin as she darts off and the machine sends a beam of light toward you. She sounded afraid - maybe it's something that can fight! You wave up at it as the beam hits you ... but nothing happens. Well that's boring.
You fly up to it, floating in front of it. There are people inside! They look completely shocked, and the machine starts to wobble until one of the men inside stops looking at you. You notice that the side of the machine seems open and drift over - the spinning blades above you are pushing you down, but not very hard. Inside there are two more people, but where the two men in front had helmets on, these two just have things over their ears that linked to their mouths. They look kind of silly, but the woman shakes her head and takes deep breaths before muttering something to herself, while the man holds something up to his shoulder and points it at you. You're about to attack them when you realize that the front of whatever the man is holding looks a lot like the camera the Tengu reporter uses. They must want your picture!
You curtsy and smile politely. Hopefully there isn't
too much blood - humans tend to be squeamish - but you're finally getting the respect you deserve! You float closer, and the woman holds a short black stick up to you. "My name is Flandre! What's your name?" You don't yell, because that would be rude, but the woman seems a little surprised, as if she didn't expect you to say something.
"Er, my name is -" You don't hear her name, however, because you hear something moving
very fast and then the machine explodes. You're pretty sure that isn't supposed to happen, and quickly look around for whatever caused it ... but you don't find anything. You also don't find Mami's body, even though you're pretty sure you remember where it fell. You shrug - it's not your problem anymore. You hear wailing sirens approaching and see flashes of red and blue lights, then there are some more explosions and they stop moving. You sigh and fly back to the section of the tracks you lair at - it's obvious that
someone doesn't want you talking to humans.
As you near one of the entrances, you see a human girl standing in the open; you know she's waiting for you because she's actually watching you. You're not sure whether her presence here is simple happenstance or if she's trying to be threatening, but you slowly drift down until you're only a few meters away from her. She's not that tall, long black hair, cold purple eyes ... yes, she's very
elegant. Your gaze flickers to her left arm - there's a strange round shield, and poking out from her sleeve is a gold outline, and it rather looks like something is supposed to fit in there. Sneaky.
"You shouldn't have done that," she says. Even her voice! Remilia would definitely approve, you think. You stare at her for a while, and she returns your gaze levelly.
"Hey, will you be my maid?" Her eyes widen in surprise. "I mean, my sister has a maid, and she's a lot like you ... well, she's taller, and her hair is white, and all that ... but if you put that aside, she's a lot like you. You'd fit right in!" She glares at you and you giggle. After a moment, she closes her eyes, takes a deep breath, and looks back at you coolly.
"You're only interested in a good fight, right? I know where - and more importantly,
when - the best one is." You stare at her for a moment, wondering what it is she wants.
"How do I know I can trust you?" She blinks in confusion once again. "You disrupt my activities, you know what I want. You don't fear me or respect me - or if you do, you're covering your emotions well enough that I can't tell, and I'm pretty good at reading people. You're a blank. So how can I trust you?" She stares at you. "Maybe if you let me keep your Soul Gem unt-"
"No." She didn't even let you finish!
"Hmm ...." The two of you glare at each other for a moment. Maybe you should just kill her?
