Kyoko's in too a fragile mental state right now to leave. Sure Sayaka and co. could probably subdue her, but even when she's not a quasi-witch she's no pushover who knows what kind of damage could she could do before she's brought down. Best watch from a distance, ready to deliver a one-sided takedown if need be.

Yeah, and Flandre showing up at all would probably push her over the edge. Best to let her get some space and vamoose for a while.

I don't think that our interfering will do kyoko's mental state any favor. So why stay around when the others seem to have it under control?

[X] Go with Lutecia and Agito.
- [X] Where they want to go.

You could wait here, watch over the Kyoukos or talk with Homura or Sayaka … or you could leave. It all looks harmless right now, anyway, so it should be fine. You make sure the Kyoukos aren't going to turn around, then drop to just above the floor and drift over to Sayaka.

"I'm leaving, too, okay? If you need my help, try to contact me through Lutecia." She nods as you whisper in her ear and flashes you a quick thumbs-up. You grin back and do a small curtsy before swiftly flying after Lutecia. Kyouko's girls are leaving them alone, fortunately, and you catch up to them at the entrance to the church. "So, where are you going?" You try to grab Lutecia in a hug, but she somehow divines your intent and sidesteps. You stick your tongue out at her before landing and pulling out your red parasol.

"You didn't need to come after us, you know. We can take care of ourselves," Agito grumbles, and you sniff disdainfully.

"That may be so, but there's nothing to do back there except watch, and if I go with you two, I get to be with my favorite person on two worlds!" Lutecia slows to a halt and looks down and away. Agito growls at you.

"On two worlds, huh? Not on three?" You grin at her and step beside Lutecia.

"Of course not; Lutecia's my favorite person on two worlds, but my sister is my favorite person - just as I'd be shocked if Lutecia placed me ahead of her own mother." She stiffens and tries to curl up without moving, and you put your free hand on her shoulder. You give her a big smile when she looks back up at you, and she nods. Agito glares at you. "So, where were you going?"

"… Is there a park nearby?" You do know of the one park area, but it's a ways off ….

"I think so. It might be a bit far to walk, though …." You hold out your arm, offering to carry her, but Lutecia gives a small smile and shakes her head. You shrug and start walking next to her, the parasol keeping your wings hidden, and after a few minutes Agito swoops in to sit on your shoulder. It takes the three of you a while to get to the park, even going for as close to a straight-line path as you can, but Lutecia doesn't complain, and she really smiles as she steps off the path and walks in the long grass along the lake's edge.

You find a bench and sit down to watch her; oddly, Agito remains on your shoulder, and you glance at her curiously. She sighs and shakes her head.

"She's finding insects to use," she says quietly, and you nod.

"Hm. Should one of us get her something to eat? We're actually pretty close to Homura's right now, I could be there in a couple minutes …." Agito opens her mouth to reply, then closes it and deflates.

"Honestly, she probably wouldn't eat it unless we made her. If we're that close, we might as well just drag her back when she's finished …." You watch Lutecia for a few minutes as she walks along the water's edge, then turn back to Agito.

"… Hey, get bigger." She blinks at you, startled.

"What? No! You're going to make me wear one of those dresses, aren't you?" You grin.

"It'll be good for you to wear some clothes every once in a while. We need to make sure you're properly civilized, after all." She takes that about as well as you expected her to, but despite the yelling and fussing, Lutecia doesn't look up.

Agito slumps against you and you grin and give her a sideways hug. "There, now that wasn't so hard, now was it? And you look so marvelous, too." She glowers at you, but you shrug it off. Truthfully, the dress she's wearing needs to be tailored a bit before she will really look like she fits in it, but it's certainly good enough for now. You start humming as you watch Lutecia.

"… So why did you go after us, anyway?" You stop and look over at Agito, but she's focused on Lutecia.

"Well, I could have gone after you, Vita, or Verossa, or I could have stayed there. If I'd stayed, I probably would have been blamed for what happened and they'd try to lock me up. Vita seemed to hate me, and … I didn't know Verossa much better than I did you. But you and Lutecia reminded me of Patchouli and Koakuma, and you looked like you needed help more than the others, so I tried to push Vita toward Verossa and make sure you were okay."

"Huh. Is it things like this that you mean when you say you don't want to cause problems for your sister?" You very carefully don't react, and Agito stiffens beside you. "Uh, sorry …." Moving to Gensokyo probably didn't help much, you think - there's still not much for you to do, and actual fun is remarkably hard to come by, despite the number of powerful youkai. If you can prove that you're responsible, maybe she'll let you go through the portals and have fun in other places instead? At least every once in a while, like how she sometimes still cooks - you always know when she cooks instead of Sakuya, because it tastes just right. Then you hear the music, and both of you turn around to look at the source.

A tall boy with grey hair is sitting on another bench a ways away, violin in hand. Next to him is the green-haired girl who was with Madoka when you visited her school. He is … not bad, you suppose. He's probably quite talented for a human, simply young. The girl is just watching him as he plays.

"Huh. Can't say I've seen that sort of thing before." You grunt non-committally.

What do you do?

[ ] It's only been a couple hundred years since you played a violin; see if you still remember how to play ....

[ ] Stay in the park and keep talking to Agito/Lutecia.
- What about?

[ ] Head back to Homura's.

[ ] Other?

DM Note: Blech. This feels way too stilted and awkward. Oh, and just to make sure everyone is aware: Flandre does not know 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia,' nor does she know about it.

Time to embarrass, Kamijou and show off with our violin skills. I also bet that Lutecia and Agito would love to hear us play.

[X] Head back to Homura's

Really, anything but interrupting Sayaka and whats his face sounds good. Also I don't really see Flandre as being that much of an attention seeker.

As for attention seeking - I'm thinking that she won't mind having a bit more, especially outside provoking violence and bloodbath of humongous proportion.

Let us play, the music of ze night.

First, fun Quest to read, I enjoyed reading it. Nobility!Flan works very well. I particularly enjoyed her thoughts on Lord of the Rings.

That said, I gotta ask: are people considering how Flandre is actually supposed to get that violin? Because I'm guessing the strange girl walking up and asking to borrow the violin is going to be met with suspicion.

I can't help but look at that vote and wonder if Flan is going to pry the bloody violin from his mushy fingers. On one hand, this sounds like a paranoid, fear mongering argument even to me.

On the other hand, Flan also strikes me as the kind of insane who would actually do that sort of thing if she were in the mood, and it would be entirely IC.

Also, somewhat related, violin is one of those instruments where being out of practice causes merry hell on the performance. Sure it won't result with the 'sonic weapon' violin, but all the notes would tend to be off.

[X] Head back to Homura's

Considering that we are a piano player and not a violinist, this makes the most sense. We aren't trying to be our sister, we are trying to prove to her that we can be our own person and not need supervision. While it is fine to mimic Remilia in some ways, we shouldn't try to be her. So we shouldn't try to play the violin just because Remilia can.

A Good Day for Violins
[X] It's only been a couple hundred years since you played a violin; see if you still remember how to play ....

The two of you watch the boy play for a few more minutes, and you hop off the bench and walk toward him. "Hey! What are you doing?" Agito hisses at you when she notices, but you're out of her reach and stronger than she is anyway, so you ignore her. You wait patiently for the boy to finish playing when you reach him, and join the green-haired girl in polite applause when he does. Startled, he turns toward you, and you smile at him.

"Hello! You're really good, aren't you?" He frowns a little but nods.

"Well … I guess I am, yes. It's been a while since I could play, though, so I'm practicing right now." His frown deepens for a moment, as if reflecting on some memory, but then the girl puts her hand on his shoulder and he shakes it off.

"Did Madoka tell you about Kyousuke?" The green-haired girl asks a question, and both you and the boy give her puzzled looks. She sighs and shakes her head. "My name is Shizuki Hitomi, and this is Kamijou Kyousuke, but Madoka never told me your name." She gives you a concerned frown after you and the boy exchange greetings.

"Hehe. My name is Flandre Scarlet, but no, Madoka didn't tell me anything about you two. I do remember you, though," you say with a grin. Kyousuke clears his throat.

"Um, Kaname Madoka? Then, would you happen to know Miki Sayaka? She used to come to see me a lot, but she stopped a couple weeks ago and disappeared. No one's seen her since, but …." You think for a moment, finger on lips, then hop back and widen your grin.

"Hmm … I do know how to get in contact with her, yes - would you like for me to arrange a secret rendezvous for the two of you in a private place so you can give her a special performance?" He stares at you for a moment before he figures out what you were implying and jerks back, shocked. Hitomi's frown shifts to a glare for a moment, then passes before you can say anything about it.

"No! No, we're just friends, but she would stop by and talk, and then she just … completely disappeared. And I'm not famous, so I don't know if she found out that I'd recovered, and …." He sighs mournfully. "She did said she wanted to hear me play again, and she was always sure that I'd recover …." You notice Hitomi's face adopt that carefully neutral expression that people who are bad at lying use when they're trying to pretend they aren't interested in something. Curious ….

"And Madoka has said that she can't find Sayaka, so … I'm a little curious as to how you know where she is," Hitomi says, and you smile condescendingly.

"I am a lady of many talents," you tell her before turning your eyes to the violin. "Can I try the violin?" Hitomi blinks in confusion as Kyousuke puts his hand over the instrument protectively.

"I … don't think so. It's very valuable to me -" You lean forward excitedly.

"It's fine! My sister taught me to be very careful with instruments, it's just that it's been so long and I want to see how much I remember and I promise I won't do anything to it and -" You cut yourself off as the boy flinches back, the violin cradled against his chest. Hitomi stands up behind him, ready to move in front of him, and you lean forward just a little bit. "Please?" You don't quite whine at him, and he looks down at the instrument.

"… You can talk to Sayaka?" You nod, never breaking eye contact, and he sighs. "Then, if you'll tell her that her friends are worried about her, I'll let you try it." Your face lights up.

"Deal!" You don't snatch the violin from him, but only barely. He frowns as you bring it up and place it against your neck. The violin is just a little too big for you to hold properly. Remilia always used a full-size violin, and she made sure you knew how to play one, but you were never as good as she was, and usually used a smaller one. You're pretty sure she cheated, because her arms aren't long enough to make a difference. You run through the positions and make sure you remember where everything is - and then start to play.

Greensleeves, again. It helps that the song is slow enough for you to correct your mistakes, and you remember what it's supposed to sound like. You murmur the lyrics you remember as you play, but most of your attention is split between trying to ensure that you're playing the right notes and remembering Remilia forcing you to learn how to play the violin. It was one of the few things she outright forced you to learn, instead of cajoling or making bargains, because it was something she felt you had to know. And you tried, you really did, but it never held enough of your interest, so once you'd mastered it to the point that you could play perfectly, she stopped forcing you to play. And then, later, they developed pianos, and … you grin to yourself. You're pretty sure Remilia could have mastered pianos better than you had, but she let you have them, because you loved them so much.

You finish playing and turn the violin over to Kyousuke. He almost looks impressed, but you made so many mistakes you know that isn't true. Still, you smile and curtsy properly.

"Thank you for letting me play. I'll let Sayaka know what you said the next time I see her." And before they can reply, you turn and head back to Agito. Lutecia seems to have finished her business, as the dragonflies are nowhere to be seen as she sits on the bench. They both clap their hands quietly.

"That was wonderful, Flandre," Lutecia says, then frowns as you give her a sour look.

"No, it wasn't. Are you ready to go back?" They both seem taken aback by your curtness, but nod quietly. You lead them back toward Homura's, silent until after you cross the rails. "… I made a lot of mistakes. I'm not even as good as that boy is. If you thought that was wonderful, it's only because you don't know how it's supposed to sound." Your wings wrap around your shoulders protectively. After a few more steps, you stumble to a halt as Lutecia wraps her arms around you.

"It was wonderful." You sigh as she repeats herself. Agito pokes you in the arm.

"Yeah. Sure, maybe if you were at your best, it could be even more wonderful, but you played a wonderful song, you sang along with it, and don't think I didn't notice that it's the same song you played at the church. Just keeping the notes for both of them separate must take a lot, so don't sell yourself short!" She moves in front of you and grins conspiratorially. "Hey, why don't I make some of my bread, and we can all celebrate?" You feel Lutecia's excitement rise, but you shake your head sadly and give Agito a rueful smile.

"I don't mind," you say as she frowns, "but I can't really eat it. It has garlic, right? It's a little toxic to vampires, does something to the blood in our system. I'd have to burn a lot of energy and hope I get the affected blood out, or take in a lot of new blood and overwhelm it." Her face freezes in uncertainty, but you smile at her. "It smells wonderful and tastes better, but I think Lutecia would eat most of it." You wink at her as Lutecia giggles behind you, and after she lets you go, the three of you continue back to Homura's. You don't feel … quite as bad about your playing.

You and Lutecia move into the library when you get back; Agito darts into the kitchen and tells you not to wait for her. You go back to your language studies, and after a while Agito comes in with a tray of tea and light food - crackers, vegetables, cheese, and the like - and joins in the discussion. You all lose track of time until you hear the door swing shut and look up to see Homura grinning down at you. It's a fairly strange image.

"Did everything go well?"

"Hm? Oh, yes, everything went just fine," she says, still grinning. "So well, in fact, that they decided to have a little celebration on Saturday, and they'll be inviting us, as well as Mami and Madoka." Agito brightens up.

"Oh? Should I make something special, then?" Homura shakes her head.

"Oh, no, no. You see, it's going to be a pool party, and then we'll all go to a nice place where we can sit down and talk about things." A pool party? Like … swimming? Uh ….
