[X] Accept Lutecia's offer.
--[X] Give Lutecia a hug (Carefully!!) thanking her. Then ramble about how you've finally got an awesome servant.
- [X] Establish a lair. (Where?)
-- [X] Ask Lutecia and Agito to help look for an empty home you can use. Preferably one with a basement.
You smile at the girl. "Of course!" She nods hesitantly as Agito frowns at you, and you take a few steps forward and extend your hand. Lutecia shakes it, and then you sweep her into a careful hug, lunging even closer and slipping your arms beneath hers before lacing your fingers behind her back. Hug completed, you launch yourself into the air and gently swing her around, laughing merrily. Lutecia tightens up for a moment, but neither she nor the youkai, Garyuu, try to do anything to stop you. Agito, however, flies up to your height and glares at you.
"Hey! Let her down right now!" You giggle and stop your spinning as she swings her arms angrily.
"Hehe, I'm just so happy right now! I finally got one, just by myself! And you even look like Patchouli, too, and you're a magician!" You giggle once again and dance a spinning circle in the air with Lutecia. "Yes, my first, and you're so wonderful, but don't worry, I'll get more servants soon, so you won't be -" You jerk to a halt as a small fireball flies past your head, and you stare blankly at Agito's enraged expression.
"You ...! Let her go right now, you -"
"Agito." Lutecia interrupts the fairy's tirade with a word and then looks at you. "Please put me down," she says, and you drop to a height where you can set her down gently. She takes a deep breath as you back away a bit, and Agito hovers over her shoulder, still glaring. "I need to get back to Mid-Childa, so I can save my mother. You seem to offer the best chance of that, and you seemed to want company, so we decided to accompany you, if you would have us. However, if you wanted something else, then there is no deal." She stares at you, head tilted oh-so-slightly to one side. For almost a minute, your eyes stay locked, and then you shake your head and drop to the floor.
"Ah, no, I apologize." You speak normally, calmly. "I was simply being overeager, and I had no intention of betraying you. I was the one to make the offer, after all; I'm afraid my mind had wandered a bit during the interruption. However, if you are still willing ...?" You tilt your head questioningly and, despite a slight growl from Agito, Lutecia nods her head in acknowledgement. You jerk your own head forward in a brisk nod, then walk to the railing over looking the river. "Then, the first order of business ...." You turn back and see Garyuu, enclosed in some kind of bubble, diminish in size and vanish into one of Lutecia's gloves. You dart forward and sweep Lutecia into your arms, then leap onto the railing. Agito squawks in astonishment.
"Hey, what do you think you're doing?!" She flits forward as well, hovering near your face with one hand encased in small flames.
"Crossing the river, of course," you say calmly, then leap forward, keeping a tight hold on Lutecia as you cut through the air. Agito catches up to you easily and follows your path to the walkway along the river. "You see, while I don't consider the local magicians to be a threat, they do seem capable of dangerously threatening Lutecia. Because the river is a boundary marker," you set her down and glance back, "crossing it should reduce or eliminate the possibility of them attempting to take revenge for the stupidity of their comrades. As magic seems to be something hidden in this world, not open, being among people would reduce the chances of attack even further." You glance at the island you skipped over; that's where Mami lived, but the shopping district is over here, and you briskly walk toward it. "Of course, taking safety for granted would be the height of foolishness, so we now have two goals - establishing a place of residence and obtaining information. I believe I know where the latter can be found, but the former might be more problematic."
"Why can we not use the residence you used in your first visit?" Lutecia seems more curious than aggressive, and you turn to walk backwards as you smile at her.
"Because it was a literal hole in the wall in a cave. Agito wouldn't find it comfortable, I don't think, and neither you nor I would. It can be used as a temporary place of refuge, but it has no redeeming features apart from some defensibility." You stop walking and think for a moment. "Hey, you have those bugs you used to contact me, right? Can they look for a place?" Lutecia frowns and looks uncomfortable.
"I ... have some. And they can. It will take a long time, though."
"Why don't we just go to that place where you can get the information you want?" You glance at Agito, and she shrugs. "I mean, we don't know where anything in this city is, and you apparently don't know where a good place to settle down is either, so why don't we go there and see if we can find a place to stay?" Lutecia nods and looks at you. Hmmm ....
