[X] Try to talk to them.
-[X] Be ready to defend yourself however.
You take a few steps forward and put yourself between Lutecia and the girls, then wave at them. You aren't particularly worried about them - at least, not for yourself. But you don't know if Lutecia can protect herself from them, so that means you have to be on your guard ... and you see a fourth girl hiding at the edge of the platform on the far side. The three girls in front move forward a bit, with the leader staying a bit back.
"Hi! We just got here," you begin, smiling. "Is there anything fun to do around here?" The girls frown but keep their weapons readied.
"You are trespassing in our territory," the leader says harshly. "This side of the river belongs to Kazamino. Surrender yourselves to us, give up any Grief Seeds you have with you, and you might live."
"Kazamino? I thought this was Mitak- ... Mitakiha-"
"Mitakihara is on the other side of the river," the leader interrupts, glaring at you. "Now, surrender!" All three girls tense, preparing to attack, and you sigh before grinning at them.
"Sorry, we can't do that. But if you leave us alone, I'll let you off with a scolding instead of a warning." You giggle malevolently, and the girls pause for a moment ... then the two underlings dash toward you. You hurl yourself forward and crack their heads together, hard enough to fracture their skulls, then tear off their sword arms. The leader, however, darted to the side and then went for Lutecia ... and as you suspected, neither she nor Agito are ready for her. You are, however, and just before she reaches lunging range, you're in perfect position - Laevateinn swings up, shattering the blades before shearing through her hands and continuing up and across to pulverize her upper torso and send what little part of her head that survived flying to the streets below. You turn your head slightly and lock eyes with the observer. After you smile and turn more fully toward her, she leaps down, scaling the outside of the tower before fleeing across the rooftops.
"What ... what the hell was that?!" Agito whimpers, and you turn back to them, then gasp.
"Ah!" You put your gift away and rush over to Lutecia, who managed to get some of the leader's blood splashed across her face. She doesn't seem to notice it, but still ... she's not your sister, anyway, and red doesn't suit her as well as her current purple-and-black do. You wipe her face off, and she gazes dully at you before Agito, shaking, puts herself between you. You stand up and stretch.
"Well ... I was here - or someplace a lot like here, because it looks like I never came through here - before. Those are some of the local magicians. Well, they don't seem to use real magic a whole lot ... and they're hard to kill." You lean over the leader's body and pick up a splintered orange-colored gem from her shoulder. "This one's probably dead, though. They seem to store their souls - or at least their life forces - in these gems, so if you want to kill them, you have to make sure to break the gem." You drop the gem back onto her body.
"But ..."
"You said ...." Agito shakes herself and drifts to the side as Lutecia speaks. "You said you were here before? You came through those portals from here to Mid-Childa?" She's trembling a little, her fists clenched on her knees, and she isn't looking at you. "And ... you could go back to Mid-Childa?"
"Umm ...." You tilt your head, thinking. "Probably. I ... don't actually control the portals or where they go, so I can't open one up, and I don't know that one to Mid-Childa will be there, or that we'd be able to recognize it even if there is one ... but I think I know who made them." Lutecia jerks her head up to stare intently at you, eyes hopeful once again. "Back home, my older sister's magician friend had them in the library, so she should be able to get to Mid-Childa. Once we get back there, anyway." She nods slowly.
"So how'd you get out of here the first time, if you can't break between dimensions?" Agito glares at you, and you shrug at her.
"One of the magicians did something. I can ask her about it if we meet her again." You remember that pink-haired girl, the one with the power ... the one you really wanted to fight! You'll definitely recognize her if you meet her again ... and you're pretty sure you know where you can find her, too. Apart from that .... Agito glances at you, then hovers by Lutecia's shoulder; they seem to be in some sort of conversation, so you head back over to the railing.
You could go to that glass building and wait for the pink-haired girl to show up, however long that would take - but you should probably find someplace to stay, first. Two of the places you thought about using the last time you were here, the old church and the brick building, are on the 'Kazamino' side of the river, so you'd have to fight to get and keep them, and you only know a few places on the 'Mitakihara' side. And while the area under the train was safe enough, it was far from comfortable, and you don't want to 'rough it' unless you have to. Especially if you're going to have someone with you .... So maybe you should see if Mami is alive again and living where she lived before? It's not that far, and - as long as you don't do anything silly like tell her you're a vampire - she could be a source of information! So ....
"Flandre Scarlet?" You turn to see Lutecia, Agito, and the bug youkai. "I ... I want to get back to my mother. If you will help me do that, we - Agito, Garyuu, and myself - will accompany you for now. I ... we ...." She closes her eyes. You think you know what she means.
