Firebird, a Worm AU/Xover?

Ok, as fascinating as this has been, now it's starting to be a bit much, so please relocate to the morality thread if you wish to continue discussing Tagg and his actions.

"Broke no laws"=/="totally right and justifiable and I support everything about the man".
I bet it could be argued that his monitoring of the Arcadia computer system was an illegal wiretap obtained without a prior subpoena, which is what got D&D into Arcadia so fast in the first place, so it could be argued that he broke the law before he broke the unwritten rules... but Worm was never a police drama nor a courthouse file-slapper, so that sort of thing wouldn't have been in the narrative.

EDIT: Oops, didn't see the above. Sorry!

"Any Worm fanfic story" =/= "Worm morality thread"

Yes, I did this just to join the not equal band wagon.

Anyways....so dat Phoenix Force. Will it be physically changeing Taylor as well? Or have I forgotten that it already has?

It started to change her eye color in this chapter.

Well, Colin thought her eyes were green for a moment, but then decided it was just poor lighting. I couldn't really find a good descriptor of Taylor's actual eye color beyond maybe dark/brown. For all we know, she could have one of those eye colors that look different depending on what light you're in/person's mood. Not everything is a product of a flaming cosmic entity that noms stars.

... Is anyone buying that explanation?

There were also mentions of it fixing her eyesight. I don't remember how valid they were, but someone mentioned it a few pages ago.

Oh, I think it's completely rational to, you know, have a negative response against someone who has now made attempts on her life not just once, but twice, in the course of a few days, and to distrust authority who has refused to respond in full force against such blatant crimes.

Not really. If there is no rational basis to consider that authority should be responding in full force (e.g. its knowledge of the "blatant" crimes is incomplete... it's possible that even the use of the adjective "blatant" in your description is itself irrational), for example.

Also, the fact that she considers being in the wards as an unambiguously positive thing and therefore a "reward" for Sophia is questionable. Sophia certainly doesn't.

In brighter new. Taylor might be called ino anti character witness on sophia's trial. So more intense sentencing!. And as she's not a ward. Her mom probably still doesn't know she failed her daughter so horribly that she didn't notice the trigger or her being active for three or so years. I mean even Danny noticed in weeks of her actually going out.

I sincerely doubt Sophia will ever be put on trial. I expect the whole thing to take place behind closed doors.

Jean had Professor X there to mind wammy her in case of Phoenix outbreak...

In worm the only telepath is Ziz...

"Hello students, I am Professor Z. Due to a truly astonishing series of events, Principal Blackwell has decided to spend the rest of his life as a transsexual clown. I will be taking over his duties for the foreseeable future."

"Professor, has anyone told you that you look alot like The Simurgh in a wheelchair?"

"That's a good question. However despite her devilish good looks, debonair personality and refined mein, I assure you that the simularities between the majestic Simurgh and myself end there. As you can see I have a hat. The Simurgh does not. Also, glasses."

"But-"

"Let me try to answer your question with another question. Do YOU want to be a transsexual clown?"

"Well, no."

"I'm glad we understand each other."

My headcanon is that her eyes are green to begin with.

Technically speaking, he only did that AFTER they were separated. In the Trial of Adam Warlock, it was more or less stated that the only way the Tribunal would have been able to enforce his judgement was to enter into conflict with Adam, which would rend asunder the entire reality, but he didn't state that he could win that fight. Once they were separated, he could affect them, but prior to that, I'm less certain of his ability to do anything meaningful. It is, however, telling that he was the only being apparently unaffected when Adam lost his temper during that trial.

LT, however, might not be able to win a straight out fight, but he doesn't have to, as he knows what to say to get Adam to go along with his ruling. (Admittedly, he does claim to be a representative of of a being whose power dwarfs the combined power of the gems, which Adam disputes, but when they were flexing their cosmic e-peen, Adam & the Tribunal were the only beings not affected by the other one flexing their cosmic muscle. IG = Tribunal > everyone else is how I always saw it. Just the Gauntlet has the downside of splitting the gems apart, which opens them to being affected by the Tribunal's influence. After Adam's reign as the supreme being, I don't know that we ever see the gems working in unison again properly? (There's a lot of weirdness after Infinity War and even then, it wasn't all six gems being used together)

I would run an Infinity Gems!Story sorta like Highlander. Taylor gets a random Gem, and so do 5 other people. Then starts a world-spanning Free-for-All to the death to steal/claim through right of battle the gems from each other. Taylor might participate more for the fact that 5 more-or-less crazy people are trying to kill her for the magic rock giving her super powers.

This way, there is is conflict for the story without the instant stomping of someone having the full set off the bat. Plus it can build up to that later on, and even have a super awesome battle between the last two standing.

Let's roll for it right now just because

Space Gem: 1
Reality Gem: 2
Soul Gem: 3
Mind Gem: 4
Time Gem: 5
Power Gem: 6

And she gets one! She has the power of the SPACE GEM: This purple gem allows its owner to be anywhere in an instant. They can be in multiple places in the universe, or nowhere. Mastery would allow the owner to warp or rearrange space as they see fit.
Noxturne90 threw 1 6-faced dice. Reason: Taylor rolls for: Total: 1

Meh, Ok.

-edit-

.... Apparently the mind gem likes me.

Well, to give credit, the Mind Gem is F'ing bullshit.

The blue Mind Gem gives the owner access to all thoughts and dreams. It also gives the user a wide number of other mentally related abilities including telekinesis. It encompasses the collective consciousness of the universe. In the hands of one unskilled in its use, the gem could unleash your dreams and nightmares uncontrollably within your mind. Worse yet, one oblivious to the dangers can have their inner demons overwhelm them. For a novice user it can add or boost mental power, and augment the mind's abilities. Further knowledge of the gem can allow the user to tap into further power. Where the reality gem alters reality itself, the Mind gem can make you think the world has changed. Mastery would allow the user to access all the minds of the universe, simultaneously.

The downside is that it's dangerous bullshit as you can see.

I have actually mentioned an idea similar to this several times over on Spacebattles, with one addition that would likely best serve as an alternative the "Infinity War" idea.

When a Gem bonds with someone it transforms those in the general vicinity into Metahumans with powers based on the Gem.

Honestly that would be best for a "solo" story with the Power Gem bonding with Taylor as it can replicate every superpower not related to the other Gems.

Now to keep on topic since Taylor is host to the Phoenix Force what other "Marvel Cosmic" Elements could conceivably come into play in this setting?

And please don't answer with "Galactus" as that is just to overdone.

There are plenty of Cosmic Level Beings and Aliens who the Phoenix Force could attract the attention of.
