Here's what happened:
It's secret

And now you have a few chapters to think for a good reason, or steal one. Or we might just forget there was anything.

Eh didn't she have some low level dangersense that sophia's noticed?

She was actually using her precog to emulate that. She was avoiding Sophia's shoves and such because she saw them coming. But, she relaxed a bit because she had friends and things were looking up and thus, blindsided because she didn't have it on to see Sophia waiting in ambush.

Actualy, since one of Hanabi and Rockshow is a limited pre-cog according to the PRT, that may well be the two of them.

It would explain how they turned up just as Sophia was getting dangerous.

I think we can forgive it just once as long as it's consistant in the future. Not like Marvel is always perfectly consistent with their character powers.
Does that mean we're into another series already?

That is, as I said, an interesting theory.
Everyone keeps saying they're various parahumans. Nobody's suggested robotic humanoids supplied by Dragon and piloted by PRT agents.

Since that's clearly the only thing that hasn't been suggested yet, and Chibipoe hasn't seriously said yes to any of the others, I must be right.

Have you been peeking at my notes?

Speaking of speculation:

What if Taylor's new friends are actually projections of previous Phoenix Force hosts? :)

Nice. More than certainly Taylor did NOT trigger here, no? At least in the Parahuman sense.

It will be interesting in how long will pass until Dragon picks after a full DNA analysis to find if she is related to another Parahuman, that her genome has an EXTRA gene that until now she hadn't found in both humans AND never in Parahumans.

Depends. Is it just the Phoenix Force, or does she have a Mutation? Personally I lean towards the first over the second. Although it's possible I suppose.

Question, did Jean!Taylor pick up her notebooks and supplies before she ran off?

My feet struck pavement then, jarring me slightly. I seized a lungful of air and knelt, quickly gathering up all of my things. I threw a cautious look at the two men who had been terrorizing me just moments before. Neither was moving, but I could see their chests shifting slightly, indicating that they were breathing. I pulled my backpack up, clutching it to my chest and ran from there as fast as I could.

Yes. :)

Look, if you're going to put old notes on ebay, you've got to set a higher starting bid then 5c otherwise people are just going to grab them.

I think, out of everything, this has the most potential to really cause issues. So I'm behind it 99% (the remaining 1% is for my obviously correct but not as interesting robot idea, of course).

"You know," a voice said from my left, belonging to a familiar face as she stood on the stairs, with another beside her, "there's a benefit to losing."

"You get to learn from your mistakes," Minako finished, leveling the most hostile look I had ever seen at Sophia. "You would be best served by leaving now."
They've got quite a bit of back-and-forth going between them in this chapter, and neither seems surprised the other is there. Plus there's the line Taylor gives about them potentially knowing each other, implying some other connection, which means they can't be from the gangs since ABB and E88 (the two most likely candidates, though obviously not the only ones) have the whole 'My race is better!' thing going for them.

It could still be some of the independents, or a smaller team though. It could be anything, really, with how much we actually know about them (which is next to nothing).

Actually, I'm surprised no one pinned down their quote(admittedly, the preceding lines are different from the source, but...)

The truth is that Catherine & Minako are actually two halves of one being. When they perform the fusion dance, they become... MEGAMIND.
