Whoo! I got it right! Sweet strategy. I assumed that Ziz didn't know of the ressurection power since she's just Modeling Taylor and Taylor never used it prior, but it's nice to see that confirmed.
Piggot kicked out of office, probable. Armsmaster's career ambitions ruined, likely. PRT response could go one of two ways, leave her the fuck alone and don't poke the phoenix, or, more likely, bow to public pressure to get her under control and stop this from ever happening again, damn the torpedoes! Imprisonment isn't super likely, since she's a kid fucked by Ziz and in the wake of her ressurection didn't actually permanently kill anyone. But... while she probably won't be birdcaged she probably will be either isolated or taken into custody.
There will probably be a lot of fear that she's mastering those she ressurected (no true healing powers after all). But they'll be dismissed after cooler heads prevail and they're tested.
You mean like having burned an entire city to the ground and all the infrastructure being ruined worse than a behemoth fight? Yeah. Brockton Bay is kind of dead...
Yeah, it'll be rough there in BB, even with supplies getting ferried in. There's also the question of what to do with a lot of people. And worries of Mastering.
The fact that they are no longer dead people being the part where things went wrong for Ziz?
Sort of. Resurrection wasn't on the table as a thing Ziz anticipated, that is a definite fact. Glad you liked the strategy! As for fallout. Well... people will just be trying to get by for a little bit. We'll see where things go from here.
Random thought; are the shards going to reconnect with their hosts? Or just go DOES NOT COMPUTE and eff off?
Phoenix resurrection restores you to pristine condition, no powers will be lost in the process of Phoenix resurrection. If you experience resurrection lasting more than 4 hours, please see your doctor immediately.
While it will not, consider that any Endbringer battle where Sirin is present might very well have zero casualties for the defenders - after Taylor "gets creative with the laws of life and death."
Also if you thought Eidolon had issues before this, Sirin just made him at his best look like someone who lost the super power lottery. Since he's not at his best, well, let's just say that I don't expect "mentally stable" to be one of his defining traits in the near future.
Yeah, some people will have issues here.
This I don't get. I think there's a pretty big difference between Ziz being dead and having fled. If she just fled, she can come back any time she wants, for one thing.
Also, Endbringers are jobbing. If Taylor-Phoenix is only able to drive Ziz away, that basically means she can't hurt Ziz at all.
What? Taylor pulled a game-changing effect out and was hurting Ziz. As it stands, no, Taylor hasn't grasped that she can just grab an Endbringer and burn them away into their composite atoms. Ziz jobbing here doesn't mean that Taylor can't hurt her at all. The statement applied to the effect of Ziz's presence in the wake of this. Yeah, it would enhance her own reputation, but Ziz just quietly hiding vs being dead means the same thing. She's built up enough paranoia that people will think she's just hiding on purpose, that it's all part of the plan and no one would really think she was dead. And in the meantime, there's a convenient scapegoat for all the fear that an absent Ziz produces, an avian themed cape with powers that are both similar and apparently broader to the Simurgh.
First version of 4.6 actually had Taylor burn the Simurgh to ash as fuel for the Revival, but I changed that. Endbringer fights should, really, have an impact on the story vs 'Fight happens, hero stomps'. And this one does. Whether Ziz is dead or not, well, that's frankly irrelevant. What's relevant is how the effects of this impact things from here on out. If she were to come back, then everyone's terrified of something like this happening again. If she doesn't reappear for a while, everyone's paranoid that she's just planning for something worse, or has twisted everyone in BB into time bombs. Everyone. (Like there probably are people other than Tagg who are that paranoid). Worse, one of her possible time bombs is a teenage girl who had enough power to fight the Simurgh for roughly 15 minutes, mostly alone. And who has now demonstrated a frankly terrifying suite of abilities.
There's no keeping a lid on this. Maybe some details, but the phoenix has flown, and left fire in its wake. Shit unavoidably changes now.
