Finding the Spark (Pathfinder 1E Quest)

Well, when it comes to a Dragon against a bunch of Ogres, I'd bet on the dragon.

She's most likely not just stronger and more mobile, but also smarter than them.

They'd need a great deal of luck or abnormally clever planning to bring her down into a remotely fair fight.

Since Pepper can travel more than 100ft away from Mina, maybe can he go out on his own to the town and then we try to recall him after three/four days?

I'm thinking trying to both send Pepper to the town (with some coin in a pouch around his neck to pay for further delivery of the message?) and the birds, double our chances.
Pepper has the following:

'Benefit(s): Once per day, your familiar can spend a full-round action to manually reshape itself, reassigning 1 evolution point of eidolon evolutions. The evolution it loses can't be a prerequisite for any other evolutions it has.'

So he spends that on survival to get back to the town, then switches it to diplomacy when he gets there.

And also maybe run a divination on either Sylestrix or Pepper to help avoid dangers on the way to the town, or how to help get the message to Sylestrix

I'm thinking that the Fey Lord would at the town like the opportunity to have a dragon very mildly in his debt for the cost of a message spell (which I'm assuming he has access to)

Three days' travel with the wagons so call it two days' travel for just you guys, about 20 miles.
Okay, that's easily manageable. Our Abductor figuring has the stats of a Giant Eagle, meaning a flight speed of 80, or a hustle speed of 160. That's about 18 miles per hour. It should only take three hours of usage to fly back, warn Sylestrix, then return to the expedition. It would need to be Gorok who makes the flight, possibly with Cob or Sirim along for the ride, since he's the only one with the requisite Survival skill ranks to navigate back to Fusil and then return to the group.

Alternatively, Gorok could prepare Animal Messenger spells. He could use them to send birds to Fusil, to Sylestrix's tower, and possibly to the CoRM Fey with warnings about the approaching Ogres.

I'm leaning toward delivering the message personally. It's quicker, more likely to succeed, and makes great use of the Abductor figurine.

I Like he idea of flight too, I liked the young dragon. She can come with us for protection if she wants to.

@DragonParadox, if Gorok cast Ant Haul on the Abductor to triple it's carrying capacity, that would increase its light load capacity to 900 pounds, which should be more than enough for it to carry Gorok, Cob, Mina, and Kori. Would that work?

Keep in mind if we go back to warn the dragon personally, we'll likely be roped into fighting some Ogres with her.

Not a bad thing, but I doubt we can resist the lure of loot and Xp later, so we should keep that in mind now.

Pepper can have +8 to survival if he wants. (Hermean Potential for a reroll if Sirim goes with)

Here is what I've got so far. Left unsaid is that by doing Sylestrix a favor, we earn more goodwill with her that could eventually lead her toward entrusting us with the Mind Core, sharing more information about Azlanti, or trading us more Azlanti loot.

And like @Artemis1992 said, we might be able to help her with the Ogres. Hard to turn down extra XP.

[X] A Friend In Need
-[X] "She aided us in our fight against Gavhaul and the Demons. We, in turn, should aid her against the Ogres that now hunt her for sport. If we're quick about it, it shouldn't take more than a few hours."
-[X] Using the Abductor Figurine, Gorok, Cob, Mina, Kori, and Sirim will return to Fusil to seek out Sylestrix to warn her of the Ogre hunting party, and offer her our aid in eliminating then if she desires.
-[X] Gorok will prepare two Ant Haul spells the next morning, one to cast on the Abductor for the trip to reach Sylestrix and the other for our return. We will leave Leontas in charge of the Ohancanu, Iruxi, and Warty while we are gone. Ask that they remain at the campsite for the day, if possible.
-[X] Kori will perform a Divination to discern what difficulties, if any, the expedition will encounter while we are gone.
-[X] Sirim and Mina will explain to Sweep Tail that we don't have enough room to carry him with us when we go to warn Sylestrix, but that we will tell her of his tribe's journey and impending arrival. Ask that in exchange, he stays with the expedition to act as a point of contact should any other Kobolds stumble across them while we are gone.

How does it work with all five of us? I think the animal can only carry one.

"I have spoken to the dragon, therefore in time I may speak to her again, even over the vast gulf between here and face of the moon," the mage says with unwavering confidence as you come to the edge of a clearing.
Sirim implied he has -- or will have -- a way to contact Sylestrix. What was this about, what method did he intend to use?

As a Large-sized flying creature with STR 18, it's light carrying capacity of 200 pounds. This is roughly the maximum amount of weight it can normally carry and still fly. The Ant Haul spells triples that, however, increasing it to 600 pounds. That's more than enough to carry the entire party, especially since Sirim is weightless.

Thinking about it the problem is more the mechanics of how you are going to fit everyone. I mean it can grab one person in each tentacle and one one on it's back but after that you are out of room unless you have some ideas I'm not thinking of.

Kori and Mina each in a tentacle, Gorok riding normally, and Cob holding onto him like one of those backpacks I've seen kids wear that look like teddy bears hugging them from behind. Cob is Small-sized, after all, and the average male Goblin only weighs 30 pounds.

Could Cob (Guidance +Fortune?) rig up a quick harness?
Not that I think he needs one, I just think it sounds neat :)

That's a Crafting sort of project, IMO. If you don't have the skills for that, let alone the proper materials, it's probably best not to trust the final product when you're flying high in the air while hanging beneath a monster.

@Goldfish would it be worth doing a divination to see how encounter with ogres would go first? To see if we are needed?

Also, should we take kobold with us since he might want to avenge his hunting party and meet dragon? He is tiny so should be able to bring him along and its an extra body. He lost his hunting party, but if he returns with a dragon's favor to rest of tribe, they could potentially serve her and move into her tower.

I'm sure would like servants since still working on building horde and such.

@DragonParadox just to be clear, this kobold has rest of tribe settled someplace else and it was only hunting party that got wiped out, not whole tribe?

Cob engineered harnesses for the Halflings to get up that... small cliff face? in the underdark. I don't think it's needed tbh, I just like the image.

And I was leaning more towards "tie rope good in a way that can't cause damage if you fall and are caught by it" than a proper crafted harness. Should have worded my idea better.
But, nbd either way :)

Now that you mention it, instead of doing a Divination about the Ogres, maybe we should instead do one about what difficulties, if any, the expedition might encounter while we are gone?

The trip is already going to be uncomfortably packed. Trying to bring the Kobold along as well might be pushing things a bit too much.
