Finding the Spark (Pathfinder 1E Quest)

@DragonParadox how long does it take to attempt to teach/learn a level 3 spell?

@Goldfish I really think Mira should learn the possession spell and Sirim learn Lightning bolt, so that Mira is the one casting the possession spell asap, and not Sirim who is a 'familiar'.

Then they teach each other those spells at the first opportunity.

Edit: Sirim has opposed school: evocation
edit edit: opposed school just means it takes two slots to prep a spell. @DragonParadox can Sirim pick Lightning Bolt and teach it to Mira?
We can do that, I guess, if ya'll want to. I don't think it would occur to Mina or Sirim to do it like that, though.

Also, I was imagining Mina pretending to use her power to send her "Familiar" into Urgor to flush the Ghost out since DP told us when Sirim uses the spell he'll actually occupy the target's body.

For me it comes down to 'will the possession spell be cast in front of other people in the caravan, or just Urgor because we cast it before we return to the caravan'.

If we're to cast it after we return, then I'd prefer Mina pick the spell, if we're to cast it before we return to the caravan then Sirim is the better choice (I'd prefer if Sirim learn the possession spell from the level up tbh. It fits his circumstances better)

@DragonParadox assuming we intend to cast that possession spell as soon as we get the level up, will the level up happen before or after we get back to the caravan?

To say nothing of how Urgor might feel about being exorcised in front of people.

Level ups look great @Goldfish Do you have some combat maneuvers in mind for Cob? Or just something general.

Level-up plan looks good!

@Goldfish anything for Warty or does his stats adjust on own since animal companion to Gorok?

Right now he is equally good at all of them, since he effectively has the Agile Maneuvers feat already because we're using the EitR rules.

Realisitically, however, certain maneuvers won't make any sense for him to try it use in most situations, such as Bull Rush or Overrun. The best ones for him would be Trip, Disarm, and Dirty Trick, with Dirty Trick working best, IMO. He can use it to do all sorts of shit to an enemy, but temporarily Blinding them is generally going to be the most effective option.

I need to add the CMB and CMD info to everyone's sheets next time I update them.

Next level, Cob's Combat Maneuver Bonus should look something like this:

4 (BAB) + 5 (DEX) - 1 (Small Size) + 2 (Deft Maneuvers) + 1 (Weapon Focus) + 1 (Enhancement bonus) + 4* (Dirty Fighting) = +12/*+16 (vs Flanked targets)

Using the Kytons we just fought as an example, a Lampadarius has a CMD of 18, meaning Cob would only need to roll a 2 or higher to successfully use a combat maneuver against it. Using Dirty Trick, he could Blind it for one round on a roll of 2+, increasing the duration for one round per additional five points his of his roll (7, 12, etc). Even if it wasn't Flanked, he would only need a 6 or higher to succeed.

Sometimes it's better to just go for the kill and Sneak Attack, but that isn't always the best solution. Blindness is a rough condition and really screws you up.

Blinded

The creature cannot see. It takes a –2 penalty to Armor Class, loses its Dexterity bonus to AC (if any), and takes a –4 penalty on most Strength– and Dexterity-based skill checks and on opposed Perception skill checks. All checks and activities that rely on vision (such as reading and Perception checks based on sight) automatically fail. All opponents are considered to have total concealment (50% miss chance) against the blinded character. Blind creatures must make a DC 10 Acrobatics skill check to move faster than half speed. Creatures that fail this check fall prone.

His stats do adjust, but not every level.

Ranger Animal Companions progress 3 levels slower than those for Druids, so Warty gets the benefits of being a 3rd level companion from this chart.

This level, he learns Evasion and a new trick, gets a +1 bonus to DEX and STR, and a +2 Natural Armor bonus to AC.

Evasion is really nice on a giant frog since I can have him hop out of the way when it works.

Warty is turning into true battle toad!

His AC should become 22 right? Will make most things slide off his armor and mot hurt him.
An AC of 22 is pretty good, better than Gorok's even, against most physical attacks. We can also increase it to 23 next level if we use the next attribute bonus for DEX.

As far as weaknesses for Warty go though I think the biggest one he has is the one he showed in the last fight, no magical attacks, which means that is something needs magic to hit he can't help.

Might be we should go for an amulet of mighty fists instead?

But magical tusk caps are sufficiently badass I think it might be worth the price.

Hmmm. Are throneglass weapons considered magical? They can cut through magic, but is it the same?

Throneglass tusk caps, now that would be majestic. The next swaithe to attempt to charm Warty would be in for a surprise.
