EMIYA's saltiness is probably a direct result of the stress he's feeling from the Masters being his parallel self's children (something not canon to standard FGO, and might increase his stress level and emotional baggage).
It doesn't help that the both of them put unconditional trust in Cu (because Lancer is their first Servant, retains his Caster-self's memories from Fuyuki (and he saved them then), and is hugely reliable) and that Kana is a constant reminder of his past misguided beliefs.

Not to mention everyone rags on Archer automatically so he's always just a bit salty there, especially since Gilgamesh is around; even though he and EMIYA have an uneasy truce (because Gilgamesh finds the twins amusing and Archer doesn't want to destroy Chaldea in the aftermath of his maybe-murder-suicide) Archer still very much dislikes Gilgamesh and the feeling is mutual. They just get catty instead of killy.

And despite having no children and still disliking Shirou (they may have reconciled but they still annoy each other, even though EMIYA's slaved to Alaya forever and Shirou is currently dead), he still feels obligated to look out for 'his' children - which he does willingly and unquestionably because they're also Rin and Arturia's wards, but it still bothers him. And because they're 1) technically his children, 2) Rin's children, 3) Arturia's godchildren, 4) his Masters, 5) appreciative of his efforts, and 6) responsible for this respite from an eternity of slaughter as Alaya's dog, he cannot and does not want to ever snap at them, despite them being idiots on (many) occasion(s).

Honestly being Archer is still suffering. He's only ever comfortable in the kitchen, because cooking and cleaning are both activities that help him relax, it's something he's genuinely good at and people actually like his food, and seeing happy people still makes him happy. Especially Mashu; he doesn't feel like he has the right to judge Ritsuka's potential girlfriends, nor does he think he has any authority on whether or not Ritsuka keeps a girlfriend, but he approves of her on just about every level.

It's a shame she's going to die young. And he knows it.

So who is currently in the Orleans singularity? And a question for @Swordomatic do the twins and their parents live in london or do they live in the Emiya residence in Fuyuki?
It's just Cu and Medea in Orleans, plus Jeanne and Marie as Singularity Servants.

The Emiya family still resides in Fuyuki, at Shirou's house. It's still unreasonably busy, because loud tiger people and long-graduated kouhais keep visiting.

Oh no, I only act on criticism if there's a good point. And it's 1) funnier, and 2) more in-character, with consideration for how Saber appreciates Shirou because he wants to save people despite knowing that it's impossible. It's that endless drive that drew her to him.

Despite the memes and the crack and the rampant vandalism, Fate/Sunny Order relies extremely heavily on its characters being characters. If they stop acting in consistent, (reasonably) believable ways, then the story loses its coherence. And without coherence, it'll lose its charm.

Not saying Sunny Order has a lot of charm, I'm well aware most people are here for dumb memes and Ritsuka dunking. But it's something I care deeply about.

which brings to mind a question: does Arturia see Archer Emiya as the same Shirou Emiya she fell for in the fate route or does she see him as something different? Cause honestly while they may technically be the same person their personalities are to me completely different. Also just checking but servants remember called by chaldea recall all of their previous summons so they would remember all three routes of the fifth war.

But we don't know if the non-UBW routes are canonical to FSO, do we? Plus, iirc Archer's Fate route differed in that his connection with saber wasn't as fundamental as Shirou's.

There was a chapter with all 5th HGW Servants currently on Chaldea recounting what they did during it. It was definitively UBW. Only Gilgamesh is aware of the existence of the other routes + Hollow Ataraxia + Carnival Phantasm thanks to Sha Naqba Imuru fuckery.

Do note I did say that all servants remember their previous summons so I was sure about that. Honestly if I recall correctly the throne exists separate from time which allowed Rin to summon an archer that had yet to be. Meaning that they would recall all of their summoning not just their summons in that world. Meaning they would remember the fifth war from all routes.

Unlimited Blade Works BD set II said:
Q: What was the Fifth Grail War that Heroic Spirit Emiya experienced in his lifetime like? Was the Archer summoned there also Emiya?

Nasu: It was a world where the conditions at the beginning of the war were mostly the same, but something was missing. Shirou summoned Saber and fought until the end, didn't save Saber's heart but understood her, and they destroyed the grail together and parted... that's the image I have.

Takeuchi: Ahh, so something like a Fate route Good End we didn't make in the game?!

Nasu: Yeah, probably. After that, it is believed he cooperates with Rin who survived, and heads to London.
That said, it should be noted that, since the Prologue and very first scene of the original FSN visual novel is Archer's memory of Saber's summoning that "will forever remain in his heart", we can infer that Archer at least adores cares very much about Saber and never forgot her even after he forgot Rin's name.

It might not have been fundamental to (his) Saber, but the meeting was fundamental to him.

This is why I like Archer x Saber incidentally. It's very tragic.

What's hilarious is that unless he accepts those timelines, he will just disregard them as nonsense.

In FSF, when his Master Tine asked him how he won the Fourth Grail War, he looked into it and:

"Hm? ...'Splash'...? This can't be right... Fishing...? No..."
He appeared troubled, then mystified.
"How odd. As soon as I turn my gaze to the phases around when I was summoned to this 'Fuyuki', the 'mud' I saw today clouds my eyes."

So he presumably got a glimpse of when he was fishing in Hollow Ataraxia or, better yet, the time he got eaten by Sakura.

Ignorance is bliss.

Canonically speaking, Servants remember their experiences in other summonings as if reading a book, so they don't always build up the same emotional attachments to those memories. Usually they will only remember important events but according to Gilgamesh one can decide what memories to bring back since he told Tine in FSF that she may be worthy enough for him to remember.

Also, Gilgamesh mentioned to her that, to avoid contradictions, the Throne of Heroes adjusts a Servant's memories to match the time and place of their summoning, otherwise they would get overwhelmed by the amount of memories or even know the outcome of the War they are in.

So had a random thought and decided to share it : I think I see the start of a trend here guys. Ritsuka was kidnapped in Orleans and the kidnapping won't stop here. I can see one of the 2 being kidnapped every singularity and the one that gets nabbed is based on a single thing. The big bad of the singularity. Ritsuka was kidnapped when the villain was Jeanne Alter, so when Rome comes about Kana will get kidnapped when the bad guy is Romulus. thus when the big bad is a guy Kana is kidnapped and the opposite is true. And next thing you know the kidnapper will attempt to seduce the kidnapped. I find the idea hilarious that Kana will have seduction attempts by Romulus, Jason, Makiri Zolgen, potentially Cu alter, and Solomon. Ritsuka would be on the receiving end of attempts from Jeanne Alter, potentially Medb, The Lion King, or fricking Tiamat. Also random thought of the prison tower event with the two switching out every section with them acting together on the final part. Of course Kana has to deal with Fergus as it makes the most sense.

Sorry, but your princess is in another castle.

So had a random thought and decided to share it :
Romulus wasn't a smooth operator, though. Caligula might tries to seduce her, but being insane didn't make you a smooth operator.

Romulus might treat her well as POW and potential Hostage, though.

I can't see Lion King as the type who takes prisoner, though, so this might be straightforward, with the crux basically the loyalty of Servants associated with Round Table. Especially Mordred and Saberlot.

okay I know the reference but am confused how it applies here? As I said it was a random thought so the likelihood of it happening was low to begin with.

And if I explain, it would ruin what little humor I was trying for. So we're at an impasse.

...meh.

Just imagine Ritsuka in a dress and constantly being kidnapped every singularity.

-edit-

At least that is what I think I was going for with it. I can't remember.

Why did you decide to go with 'slitting wrists' anyway? That has more in common with suicide and self-harm than nerdiness, I would've thought.

For highly ironic ways of Robin Hood killing himself, I suppose "throwing himself from a tall tree" counts?

Or "drinking some yew poison".

So here's something of an idea for potential feels for Kana and Ritsuka. What would their reactions be to the revelation that Illya is their adoptive aunt and her death by Gilgamesh's heart surgery? (they know who she is but not her relation to them) Because when Illya shows up and mentions "Shirou-nii" it's gonna get very awkward very fast.

Because when Illya shows up and mentions "Shirou-nii" it's gonna get very awkward very fast.

Only Illiya that shows up is different, much younger, has no memories of the grail war, and is from a different dimension.

It won't be "Haha, Gilgamesh killed me awkward" but more "My alternate dimension younger aunt can't be so cute!" or something. Along with the nosebleeds on Illiya's end especially if a maid is around. It wouldn't be confirmation that Illiya was related to Shirou in the dimension they are from, but confirmation that she was in the dimension she's from I mean.

She can also solo everyone in F/GO so she probably won't be appearing for a long time. Feeakin' over power loli magical girl.
