[X] Don't kiss the girl back, she had some… rather large red flags that were popping up. Like being a mafia princess. Hold off on going official. [+5, QA doesn't like the cut of her jib. Nikki seems sus.]
I have some notes here that just read, "Red flag" and "human centipede is a tour de force". Idk what that means, but it does kind of feel like Taylor isn't ready here yet.

[X] Kiss the girl back, disregard the doubts, officially start dating. Girlfriend get.

Be happy damn you!

Grey eyes regarded her.

At this distance, Taylor could track as the pair of pupils scanned over her face, darting in micro-expressions, looking for something, analyzing, trying to compile and figure out what was going on with her. A frenetic energy seemed to drive them on, each and every frame of time making the energy behind it greater.

They reached a conclusion, one that the intelligence behind the eyes did not like.

"I did not go t-"

One of her hands rose up, two fingers angling Nikki's chin before she leaned forward, and pressed her lips against Nikki's.

When Nikki had kissed her, her thoughts had raced, just a myriad of disparate thoughts had flooded through her. This time, it was different. Perhaps it was the lack of surprise or the fact she was the one doing it, but instead of tensing up, or whatever Taylor had expected, tension seemed to melt away. A calm.

She didn't know how else to describe it. It wasn't even a full calm, but there was no heart racing or anything akin to that. Just a steady press of warm and wet against her lips.

Not that Nikki was anything less than enthusiastic, hands that had been resting lightly on her forearms slowly slid up hers until they crossed behind her back, and tugged her closer.

Then the calm started to fall away.

After a few more seconds, the sensation left Taylor as she once again was being studied by grey eyes.

There was less of a rabid motion to them now.

"I enjoyed that greatly." Nikki noted softly, voice laced with a mix of curiosity and an almost clinical interest.

One of her hands removed itself from Taylor, and Nikki felt her own lips. "Yes." Her hand eased itself to rest on Taylor's lower back, warm and like steel with its firmness – no softness to be found. "I would like to kiss you again."

An amused snort escaped from Taylor as she was pulled into her new and terrible fate.

Of course, some middle schoolers barging into the booth about a minute later stopped them short, but it did nothing to stop the upwards quirk to her lips nor the deep ball of emotions bubbling up in her, buoying her.

Evening passed into night.

Night passed into day.

The shadow watched as the girl went home with a pep to her step, her time with her paramour having brought her some amount of joy.

A joy that seemed to bemuse her father.

The next day the girl seemed to have an extra sprout of energy to her as she went about her day in the center of learning.

The birdgirl seemed to soak in the affection like a sponge while the cripple observed with quiet happiness and coy teasing.

However, when her paramour, who was making a rather moronic face, had suggested going out for another time, the girl's expression had dropped and she had made an apology or three and said she was busy.

The birdgirl was crestfallen but seemed understanding much to the girl's relief.

It was some time later that she entered one of the public metal transportation tubes going to her destination…

Please vote and… well, discuss would be hoping for a bit much for this, but I can dream!

Chance of action but not as hot - sounds good to ease Illya!Taylor back into the sway of things.
Also wow, every time I think I understand how frantic (not the right word) Nikki can be, I'm reminded that she'd bury bodies for Taylor.

Time for another exciting round of Whack-a-Nazi!

Taylor was beginning to think that the night was a complete waste of time.

Over the course of the past three hours, she hadn't found a single real crime being committed. Slight lie, but she couldn't figure out how to get that really obvious drug dealer who had tried to sell her ...something, that she was sure was illegal, for some reason arrested. What could she even do? Pick up the guy with the giant and walk him to the nearest police station? How would she even explain what she had found him doing…

It was starting to make her think that she had just been extremely lucky every other time she had gone out to patrol to find as much gang activity as she had.

A long sigh escaped from her as she looked down at the pavement.

It was almost dark.

She hadn't accomplished anything.

Green eyes searched for something they could not find as they looked at the ground.

In fact, the night had been rather peaceful, she hadn't even heard any gun fire happening elsewhere. That's got to be a new record, right?

Then again she was on the other side of the city and...

...and there was a rather pair of eyes staring at her from a sewer grate.

Taylor froze as she watched a pair of beady eyes glare at her, reflecting the dim streetlamp light, their nearly sickly yellow colours almost glowing as they got larger.

Her imaginary muscle began to tense, as she readied for whatever new horror the city would throw at her, what kind of terror of a villain could be ambushing people from below, of a possible incursion from the mo-

It was a raccoon.

Taylor's scream of frustration was only partially in her head.

Taylor couldn't find anything during her patrol but she's certain there is something happening here. Nothing is ever completely empty of crime in Brockton Bay! But she has spent the last three hours wandering around finding jack all in the way of points of interest. Maybe she should just go home early and call it a day. Not worry her dad by staying out late and all of that- assuming he's home right now.

[] Call the patrol over, go home.
[] Keep going, Taylor wants to do more cape-y things. [+1, QA]

Author's Note: SURPRISE, HAVE AN UPDATE!

Sadly, I rolled the encounters and uhhhhhh, not much happened. Usually I give three rolls on the table for a patrol for something to happen. Someone tried to sell her weed, she got lost for an hour and raccoon. It be like that sometimes.

Basically, so it's not obfuscated, I'll do some further rolls on the encounter table if keep going but there is a possibility that Danny might find her out late during gang warfare time and will be most displeased.

I'll show the rolls that happened in next update so you can witness my frustration.

I thought Raccoons had yellow eyes at night and when I googled that, I was very vindicated.

I do have a question; why did so many people vote for the North patrol? I'm just curious.

Please vote! I won't often have updates this quickly. Perfect world would be twice a week though.

Sometimes you just strike out. And like what I need to do rn, it's best to just get some rest while you can.
Re: the voting, given most of the voting was on SB I'd imagine they figured it was more low-risk while still having some chance of conflict?
