[X] ...followed them from a distance until they committed an actual crime.
Taylor felt rather silly as she followed them.
She was somewhat bundled up, following a bunch of criminals like a crappy B-list movie plot. Admittedly, they probably weren't able to follow someone as well as she could.
After nearly two months of having the giant follow her around, Taylor had figured out some things that he could do. One of them was that he had far better senses than she did. Couple that with him being immaterial, and it made it easier than it should be to follow.
While he was dematerialized, the giant was a vague shadow, more of a suggestion of a shape, present yet not. He didn't have a shape yet Taylor could point him out at any given time easily. Light passed through him, clear as day while also giving him form. It refracted off his non-present form, glittering as it made it impossible for her to ever miss his existence and able to ignore it entirely. Roiling arcs of prismatic shadows fell off his form. A duality of existence.
Regardless, following him at a slow pace, only going fast enough to make sure they were still in front of them made it easier than it should have been.
Taylor… didn't exactly have a plan when it came to following them. More vague notions of a plan. Which was an improvement over not having a plan. Stalk them until they commit a crime or start to and then stop them.
She couldn't exactly order the giant to just attack them.
…
…
Well, she could. She just wouldn't.
For one, not all people wearing empire colours were actually empire. There was a big difference between wearing colours and being an actual member. She hadn't been sure if it was a coincidence or not.
Admittedly, she was pretty sure these people were actually members by this point. They had passed several similar groups. It correlated to be a pretty damning thing. Or a really big coincidence.
As of right now, her plan was to follow them until they reached some of the Empire's villain roster or until they got into a fight. Logically, it was more likely to happen than she would find by just aimlessly wandering around Empire territory. Though she was doing that as well, in a way, so really two birds one stone kind of situation.
Yet the daylight dimmed.
Hours passed.
Evening started to press in as the late winter sky darkened.
The streets started to empty and those that were left moved with a purpose.
It made Taylor feel uneasy.
That unease grew as she began to see more and more of those wearing the colours. They seemed to be headed towards the same vague direction, that being further south.
Naturally Taylor followed them.
Consequently her pace slowed down as she tried to avoid getting seen. If it had been dark enough, she might have manifested the giant and gotten a lift up to the rooftops- his dark skin would make him far less likely to be seen at night but it would be incredibly visible during the day. Which made it a no-go, for now.
And it was getting harder and harder to go unaddressed. Not unnoticed, for that was an impossibility, but just to not be held up.
A small part of her noted that it probably helped that what could be seen of her face was white. Huzzah for racism?
Soon it no longer was a worry as more and more people converged, many not wearing anything that identified their allegiance, Taylor being pretty much swept into the currents, confused as to what the hell was going on. She wasn't hearing anything that sounded like fighting so why?
It was the glint of steel, gleaming in the setting sun that gave Taylor a clue as to what she had stumbled upon.
On a platform of swords in front of the streams of people stood a knight armoured in swords, logos of hate proudly emblazoned on him.
Kaiser.
Second leader of the Empire Eighty-Eight.
Nor was he alone.
Two women, wearing armoured attire stood on either side of him, shorter than him. For now.
Fenja.
Menja.
It then clicked just where she had been pulled into.
Masses of henchmen?
People without affiliation?
Capes present?
An elevated platform?
This was going to be an Empire Eighty-Eight rally.
Aaaaand Taylor was in the middle of it.
Oh.
[] Preemptively attack the rally before it can fully form!
[] Wait for the rally to fully form and begin before attacking!
[] Have a panic attack as Taylor is a teenage girl dating another girl and is currently in a pack of Neo-Nazis.
[] Hold off on attacking and see how the rally goes… maybe gather some information?
[] Try and follow one of the capes after the rally and isolate them?
[] Flee
[] Call the PRT? No, Taylor isn't going to call the PRT on her personal cellphone that's linked to her about being in a Neo-Nazi rally.
Author's Note: After this day within the story ends, I need to show you the rolls of the series of events that led to this happening. It's… rather strange how it all played out. I mostly use rolls so I have an element of randomness to what happens and have to adapt to what's actually been rolled. It's fun.
Not happy with this chapter but oh well, it got the point across.
I also find this immensely amusing that this is pretty much only possible because Taylor decided to say fuck having a capesona; its impossible to get connected to a capesona if you don't have one!
This also might have the most voting options that I've given in the last while. All of them have pros and cons, I think, and I would suggest everyone discuss. At minimal, I'll keep voting open for two days.
Please vote and discuss!
