[X] Patrol – Go search for trouble in a gang war! [+1, QA: ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ]

It was nearly nine in the morning by the time Taylor started to get around to leave.

Late enough in the morning that most of the people that had to go do something on a Saturday morning would already be gone but early enough that there was most likely not any active fighting.

Turns out criminals tended to do their nefarious stuff at night.

Probably because it made it harder to identify them without proper lighting.

To that end, Taylor was also wearing some of her most obscuring clothes. A dark hoodie, hat, the most neutral coloured jeans she owned. She'd wear a ski mask if it didn't make her look like a bank robber.

The irony wasn't lost on her.

Now she just had to decide on where to go.

[] North (Docks, Trainyard & Boat Graveyard) [Taylor went there a week ago and got into a knock down, drag out fight with the Merchants.] {Merchants} <Low intensity fighting, ???>
[] Northwest (Trainyard & Docks South) [Taylor went there three weeks ago and had an encounter with ABB's second in command, Kage] {ABB} <Medium to high intensity fighting; secondary location to main area, ???>
[] West (Docks South) {Coil} <Low to no fighting, ???>
[] Center (Downtown & Boardwalk) [Taylor went there two weekends ago and stopped a mugging.] {New Wave, Protectorate} <No fighting, ???>
[] Southwest (Commercial District & Downtown South) {E88} <Medium to low intensity skirmishing, ???>
[] South (Downtown South) {E88} <High intensity fighting, main area, ???>
[] Southeast (Downtown Coast) {ABB} <High intensity fighting, main area, ???>

Author's Note: I always feel awkward with short chapters like this.

On the one hand, I could have this be a subvote of the previous chapter.

On the other hand, I don't want to do that because everyone that votes against the winning option would get locked out of this vote since they wouldn't do the subvote.

It's a stupid catch-22. Hypothetically, I could just have a little vote threadmark but I despise those. If you are anything like me, you generally ignore most notifications outside of threadmarks or media ones. Bleh.

Anywho, sorry about having two short chapters back to back; I would rather have everyone get a equal chance to vote than to make it a bunch of nested subvotes and what not.

Please vote so we can get this show on the road!

How about key-word voting (or whatever it's called)? Especially with only two options, as we had before, you could have stuff like

[] [Main] Power stuff
[] [Main] Spend time with dad

[] [Dad] Dad option 1
[] [Dad] Dad option 2
[] [Dad] Dad option 3

[] [Power] Patrol – Go search for trouble in a gang war! [+1, QA: ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ]
[] [Power] Research Local – Find out what's going on with the gang war!
[] [Power] Power experimentation – Taylor is going to mess around with her power/prep for exciting part of cape life – Taylor is only sort of feeling this now.
[] [Power] Preparations

and then ask people to vote for both eventualities.

There's also ranked voting, which would allow people to vote on everything, though in my experience, the automated counter's system for ranked voting is really weird and a bit complicated, so I'd recommend the above.

E88 vs ABB...neither K-pop band is particularly wholesome, so they got to go.

Shop doors opened and closed.

Cars slowly went by.

A couple crossed the street.

A low dim of small talk.

Strings of people walked by, trudging through the slush.

Taylor didn't know what she expected going out into what was probably one of the most dangerous parts of the city, but it probably wasn't this.

It wasn't idyllic, but neither was it violence filled cacophony that she had been expecting.

That's not to say that Taylor thought people were unconcerned- no, most people's eyes glanced around, focusing on any particular before moving on to the next. There was a frenetic energy to those who walked by. She was pretty sure more people would normally be out and about in the downtown area on a Saturday afternoon but she hadn't been here often.

Well, Taylor had been to the cafe she was at before.

The memories were distant, four years ago, Aunt Zoe had taken her and Emma here while running some errand or another. It was a good tea place, though she had remembered the desserts they had gotten being rather heavy. Specialty cheesecake was like that.

Side note; turtle cheesecake and yellow tea did not mix well.

Still, it allowed her to people watch out the front window.

If Taylor was being honest, she didn't exactly know how she was going to patrol, as it were, the area. She wasn't going to wander the area without being covered up- which she could get away with given that it was still barely above freezing.

Her original plan had been to wait until gunfire and then send the giant towards it to stop it. But there was no gunfire going on. Which might be why there were so many people out and about right now compared to what she had expected.

She could sit in the cafe and people watch, but she didn't think that Kaiser was going to stride by in full regalia in broad-daylight on a Saturday afternoon.

People weren't that stupid.

A half dozen people wearing empire colours walked by the shopfront and kept going down the street.

Taylor blinked.

Apparently some were that dumb, who knew?

Please vote twice, picking one from each of the follow;

Taylor…

[] ...followed them from a distance until they committed an actual crime.
[] ...used the giant to incapacitate them before they went a block.
[] ...let them go unhampered and decided to wait.

If Taylor lets them go, she…

[] ...stayed in the cafe to see if something more interesting happened nearby while safely drinking tea.
[] ...left the cafe to see if she could find actual crime being committed proactively.

Author's Note: The rolls were… odd this time.

I'll share what the rolls were at the end of the patrol/day.

Anyways, short chapter but at least things are actually happening here. I will say that Taylor will try and follow from a distance and if it seems applicable and dark enough, she might go for the roofs.

Please vote!

Maybe they're meeting a cape.

This could lure out bigger fish.

Nothing says FUN like throwing around nazis.

This is a two part vote... There is a second half to the vote.
