[X] ...got out of her room and stretched her legs [Rolls on the random hospital social encounter table]
Panacea would almost certainly know this, and thus should be aware that Taylor can't have been affected. So, it seems to me that she had no reason to jump to such an extreme reaction, especially with unsummoning and/or sedation also being options.
I mean, Taylor did just say it caused the organ failure in every part of her body simultaneouslyshe had no reason to jump to such an extreme reaction, especially with unsummoning and/or sedation also being options.
But why was she thinking Taylor was a Ziz bomb to begin with? She presumably doesn't assume Dragon is one, and if she thought her projection somehow was one while Taylor herself was fine, she could just ask Taylor to keep it unsummoned for now.Essentially Panpan panicked and thought sedation might be setting off a Ziz bomb. She wasn't thinking clearly. She didn't think someone whose power works autonomously across the world would be stopped by sedation.
That doesn't square with this part, though:Technically it could also be viewed as Taylor was sedated and just never allowed to wake up.
"(...) I couldn't stand up, or think, or even breathe by the end… I think my heart stopped at one point… It was just… so… painful… to keep… going… I… thought…"
She was kind of feeling like that right now.
She also just described what caused it, namely pushing beyond the limits of her power. Given that explanation, and the Simurgh's well-established reach, there is little reason for such an extreme action.I mean, Taylor did just say it caused the organ failure in every part of her body simultaneously
You sure it has nothing to do with the active Simurgh Wing in Berserker's hand? She also just described what caused it, namely pushing beyond the limits of her power. Given that explanation, and the Simurgh's well-established reach, there is little reason for such an extreme action.
I don't recall it being mentioned as active? And there is obviously little to worry from a dead wing - it's well-known her singing is the problem. At any rate, if the mere presence of a dead wing was a problem, the entire hospital, including Panacea herself, would be potential bombs - Taylor (and presumably her projection) have been here for over a day.You sure it has nothing to do with the active Simurgh Wing in Berserker's hand?

Hmm, while I can see where she/you are coming from, I feel that sort of thinking doesn't quite square with canon, in particular the Dragon example I mentioned above. Surely if the Simurgh reaching through a projection was a possibility, any live radio would be even more dangerous, especially if the Simurgh secretly activates it, and therefore, no radios could be allowed anywhere near the Simurgh. Except, well, we see they are.Taylor was describing what, to as far as Panacea could tell, sounded like Ziz reaching through Taylor's power, into her mind and then priming her to be a ziz bomb.
The Simurgh is weird in that she clearly holds back; they didn't even know her effect was going off tinkers until 2009. What's to say she can't just reach through a projection power and do funky shit? Is that any weirder than the crap she does with Thinkers and Tinkers by boosting off them to make stuff?
Panacea has literally only three choices at this point.
Let a possible ziz bomb go free. Sedate the ziz bomb. Kill the ziz bomb.
She is scared because there is a Ziz wing in the room with her and no one has ever hurt Ziz that badly that she knows of. She is scared because a Ziz bomb is right next to her and who knows what horrors a Ziz bomb could do with her power.
So she goes for the only way she knows could resolve the situation completely.
I meant, it doesn't square with her merely being sedated.Replicating the 'mass organ failure' so Taylor doesn't lash out in death throes and think she is being attacked.
It's AU cause we're in Nasuverse.Hmm, while I can see where she/you are coming from, I feel that sort of thinking doesn't quite square with canon,
I'm curious as to why she can't. Radios transmit sound and her scream is sound-based. It should totally be possible.Surely if the Simurgh reaching through a projection was a possibility, any live radio would be even more dangerous, especially if the Simurgh secretly activates it, and therefore, no radios could be allowed anywhere near the Simurgh. So then why are there containment zones at all? This defeats the purpose of those.IIRC, we also had people having shouting conversations with perimeter guards, which would imply there is some communication in-and-out of containment zones, which clearly shouldn't be the case.
This part confuses me. She just replicated mass organ failure in our body which results in our demise.
We don't learn what they reason in canon, but as the wiki explains in more detail, her scream isn't actually sound, but rather a sort of psychic echolocation (perceived as a sound) that she uses to build models of those in range, which she then uses to predict their actions and set up events with a sort-of butterfly effect, and she obviously doesn't get a psychic "echo" from a radio connection (or a projection), given that they don't have minds.I'm curious as to why she can't. People inside can't take actions on those outside, and we're still preventing 99.99% of communications. So then why are there containment zones at all? This defeats the purpose of those.
It was in reference to this:This part confuses me. She just replicated mass organ failure in our body which results in our demise.

so it's not sound, but it is sound? Or she's screaming in their minds? I really don't know enough about Worm to argue this point, but Berserker absolutely has a mind, and Servants have a psychic link to their Masters. We don't learn what they reason in canon, but as the wiki explains in more detail, her scream isn't actually sound, but rather a sort of psychic echolocation (perceived as a sound) that she uses to build models of those in range, which she then uses to predict their actions and set up events with a sort-of butterfly effect and she obviously doesn't get a psychic "echo" from a radio connection (or a projection), given that they don't have minds.
If she has access to our body, it would be trivally easy to kill our senses before working further.
Ah, I guess, I just figured there was no need to fake the organ failure (which might cause her to panic) - Taylor just gets really sleepy and nods off (and never wakes, ofc). There are two ways to look at the ending. The obvious where Amy kills Taylor. The other where she fakes Taylor going through a second mass organ failure and then sedates her, tells the protectorate who then lock her in the deepest, darkest hole and keep her sedated in a coma until Golden Morning happens and she dies without ever waking up. It's non-obvious but that's the other way.
Hmm, that - the underlined part - was an aspect I had not considered. I suppose if Amy is aware of the Simurgh behaving abnormally - especially if she knows its in relation to its fight with this projection, which then carries a Ziz wing - it's possible. Atypical behavior having atypical consequences is more reasonable, and given that this is our favorite bundle of issues we're talking about, I can see that leading to her panicking and deciding to kill Taylor (though she's likely to regret it later, especially once Carol learns of it and twists it into the most negative version of events possible). I still feel that it's not what I'd call the most likely reaction (which isn't quite ideal, given that this is a quest bad end), but I'd say it's plausible, at least for Amy.Someone asks to talk to you private. They say they sent their power across the planet to fight Ziz. They had a strange headache that then gave them mass organ failure. You've stared at their biology. You can't see any of the normal signs of this being a parahuman based attack. You've heard rumours that Ziz did some unexpectedly loud scream at the fight this time that no-one had heard before. Was this it? Is this her ploy? You've seen countries fall into ruin because of her and you might be standing on ground zero for the next one.
(...)
The projection has a Ziz wing.
Kudos on that description from Amy's POV, BTW. You might want to make that an omake/interlude/something
ust give up on Amy people this isn't one of the fics where she's redeemable
Besides that she's just shown to be willing to murder innocent people over suspicion, we won get anywhere with her issues without going through 3 dozen more updates where every two votes can lead to a bad end wich just isn't worth the effort.
