My thoughts on the Petals of the Rose stuff.

Everyone is focusing in on the waifu nonsense and ignoring the more relevant part of what the
Lunar partner can be - a steward.

Lea would be around for the intervening years watching out for Odyssial's interests, in some way, assuming she's in on the reincarnation plan. Even hunted/restricted by the Sidereals (assuming lol anathema happens, and I think we need to figure that), she's still someone who, like most Lunars, escaped into the Wylds where...Odyssial will have left his mark, pending other choices.

This, imo, gives us the most solid backing going into future ages. We have support from a not batshit crazy Lunar, gold factioned Sidereals, and a base where our Lunar probably was already hanging out anyway, building up the Cult of Odyssial.

Prevent the wracking, remain the person that lea's affection is focused on.

I'm assuming we're investing in lea so we can build off an already established foundation instead of meeting her as a stranger.

Otherwise i'd rather drop a Rose Blossoms and get both sorcery and subduing the wyld.

I don't know that I really want to prevent the Wracking, but I'm really curious what the choice that would prevent it is.

We are the man who wrested the key to the cosmos from the hands of its unworthy makers, and spread it among mankind; the same story that defines every first hero.

Who better to shape existence than Odyssial?

Wait a minute. With Apex Flight, all negative consenquences with heartlessness are gone.

So why aren't We going full 10 heartlessness?
 
Simply put, I feel Subduer of the Wyld is better, because it's an measurable Thing we did to improve Creation.

It reduces the damage sustained in the Balorian Crusade by dint of allowing a higher population density and outer borders designed by Odyssial, the most overpowered motherfucker who ever lived. It's a straight up, massive, objective thing we can wave before and say "I have expanded the borders of the world further then anyone else, and created a bulwark against any threat". Even beyond that, do note that "Ensuring the Wracking doesn't occur" doesn't mean that'll be a good thing for Ulyssian, because fully unshackled Elder Sidereals are going to absolutely make a mockery of him-there's a very good reason that no Exaltations on the Blessed Isle itself ever escape, it's because that place is watched like a hawk in canon.

Even beyond that... We gain a loyal cadre of Dragon Blooded who will side with us in the Usurpation, which may buy time and energy to preserve other details--or we can distribute them as sleepers to be activated when Odyssial Rides Again, and one of the chief weaknesses of the previous iteration is that we had little to no ability to project power at the supernatural scale beyond our own personal self--having surviving Odyssian Loyalists to spread the word and remember their oaths increases our ability to become relevant in the Age of Sorrows.

Plus, I'm fond of the ideal of the Chosen remaining unified as they should be under the banner of Odyssial, as a standing monument to what their combined might can achieve. Sorcerer completely marginalizes the Dragon Blooded in favor of concentrating even more power towards the highest levels, and guarantees that many of our achievements will fall to dust in the ages because nobody is able to maintain them anymore
