Lot of good arguments for Imperator, and Honestly I would have preferred Protector of the West to Lord Strategos, as that ship DOES sound rather fantastic. I see no reason to vote based on a character from a previous incarnation of the quest. That, and i am forced to disagree with the assertion that Lea is an inferior choice of companion. She's an elder lunar for Sol's sake. I'm also drawn by the fact that The Rose Blossoms option offers reduced heartless rating while dealing with Lea, anything to take the edge off of our Glorious Solar Temper Tantrums is not to be underestimated. The fact that she has very good chances of remembering where her beloved stashed all his shiny loot is just a bonus.
I say we do empire building now then do the murder hobo thing after the 1st age go into full swing. By that time most of the solar rulers would have gone crazy and we dont want to be guilty by association. We want people to say "if only oddyssial is around to put the others solars in line. We miss oddyssial as our benovolent ruler." This way we create the legend of Odyssial without the stench of associating with first age insanity.
And if we become wondering adventurers in late 1St age our legend will only grow as the only solar fighting for the little people. We want to be example that solars can give up power and still fight the good fight.

If you guys want to have Lea be a relatively safe companion - both loving and sane - it's going to require multiple choices. Which means giving up not just Conquering King, but at least one additional option from later epochs.

For me this is an argument against choosing that option. No. Harem. Heroes. Please. Seriously, that way lies only broken dreams for all involved.
Also, we played the murderhobo game on our Infernal run. Lets try actually creating something worthwhile this time around, as Solars are quite well suited for that, especially with the Field Commander having been chosen.

Frankly, at this point I'm not sure which option will win, or even which is best. They both present very interesting opportunities, and the reasons for preferring one over the other come down to personal preference.

Speaking of, I think that you were swayed far too easily Orm. It is definitely possible to have other female characters in the quest without them getting in the way of Moon- see Sad Ivory for an example.
Further, I think that it's pretty undeniable that out of all the rewards available here, having Lea on Ulyssian's side is hands down the most powerful, and you really shouldn't be losing sight our that for a mere artifact 5 ship. And speaking of artifacts, the Sword of Creation connection offers far more potential for the plot, and gives us a potential option against foes that would otherwise be entirely beyond us.
There is that, at least. The harem is also unappealing from a personal standpoint; while the Odyssial/Lealope dichotomy is compelling, if they're too close, things'll get awkward very quickly in the Age of Sorrows. Imperator preserves the best ships, both literal and metaphorical.
The Imperator hardly denies us people; Pearlescence is present in both options, and running an entire Direction is likely to result in a glut of people associating with Odyssial.
Didn't Rihaku say that Ody'd probably have a harem regardless, as that was the norm in the First Age?
