[Exalted, ?] Most High

Hopefully we can push for more extensive measures in future epochs, once all the Primordial leavings are slain and Odyssial can turn his attention to apotheosis.
But... isn't apotheosis a downgrade?

For reals, though, I approve of Odyssial maxing out his potential at the exclusion of all other factors. We just don't really have an option focusing on that, only Social Link vs. Empire Building. The latter's the more interesting to me of the two.

We HAD a option for Apotheosis but we decided to go for Field Commander.

Rather, the options that grant personal power in this decision point also grant companions. You guys did pick Fury, after all.

Was that how Odyssial first met Sepulchral Pearlescence, by Lea going into the bushes to bring out a haggled out looking woman?

No, she started following him around because he was causing so many Endings.

[x] The Wanderer - Lord Strategos, The Rose Blossoms, Sword of Endings

I can live with this i suppose.

This quest is already far from what I wanted to read and we got Odyssial! In name only to work with so I am voting for my second favorite. That is maxing those social links. We get awesome companions and we get to make creation a better world by clearing out the myriad of threats still lurking in the shadows of creation. This is more like how we built this Odyssial, he fight and defeats his enemies rather then build society's. He failed once in protecting his people after all.

Odyssial In Name Only? How does that even make sense? He didn't even HAVE a personality besides Super Optimization, last quest.

And he failed in protecting his people, so he... never builds another society ever again? Is that your read of him?

That said, I like both Social Links and Empire Building, but since we can only pick one, I'll go with
[X] The Wanderer.

[X] The Wanderer - Lord Strategos, The Rose Blossoms, Sword of Endings

Close enough to my actual vote, really wanting both Lea and Pearlescence on our side, so Wanderer vote it is.

Yeah, I fuckin' know, I voted for that shit. And it lost, despite numerical superiority, sadly.

As of the time of writing and the last vote count, Obliterator was behind. Did that change? Not that it would have mattered since the arguments were slightly more developed for Field Commander anyway, but I think you guys are being unnecessarily caught up in the dichotomy that one choice must be prosocial and sacrifice personal power, while the other choice is the opposite. That is completely incorrect. It's not like the Field Commander would lose to the Obliterator in a straight fight*, even without his army.

Similarly, it's not like Fury would lose to Coldness in a straight fight, and certainly not just because he has less Heartlessness.

*By which we mean a full-on Odyssial-level fight, not just hitting each other with swords, though they would tie there as well, given equal Greatness.

Urgh, I don't really like either of those.
If pressed, I think I'd prefer the Wanderer, but I really dislike both neglecting Lea and not getting that awesome ship.
How the hell can we dare to call ourselves an adventuring Odyssial without an awesome ship to sail towards adventure with?

[X] The Imperator - Protector of the West, Conquering King, Sword of Endings

I'm with Alectai in liking the sound of the "Once and Future King". :)

The Wanderer doesn't neglect Lea it's The Imperator that does, which is a little odd as you'd think that a king would be more focused on his relationship with his queen then a wandering adventure would.

Not necessarily; 'queen' is just one of the masks that Lealope wears. It's perfectly logical that statecraft would take time away from more personal pursuits, and that battling alongside one's boon companion would forge stronger bonds between them.

I didn't say he did?
I said I dislike both neglecting Lea and not getting the ship.
Both options do one of these things, which is why I dislike both.

I hope that Seuss gets an ACTUAL Solar exaltation for one. He either fails so hard that he exalts or dies so hard he exalted.

Can't he gain the exaltation for being AWESOME for once? That the goal of this quest. I'm sure we not making it to the end of the quest but I have two goals.

Get Sesus to become solar as well met up with Odyssial lunar lover and sidereal best friend.

Wait. Four goals. Don't waifu moon this time around. Waifu Lea.
