Well yes, but this is one of the key parts of that long term investment. It's a worthwhile enough gain to be worth picking all of the options for it that we possibly can.

Regardless of his non-terrifying social abilities or lack thereof, you think the most powerful Exalt is going to lack for prospects in the First Age?
Going with what I know about first age solars.... Run Odyssial go on adventures with the wife and your friends and dont poke the crazy.

No contest. Increased prestige and personal power; the lost of the Ithacaral hurts, but the Unfinished Blade counterbalances this somewhat.
The world might be filled with such distractions, but time spent on romantic entanglements is relatively inefficient!

I don't think Merela and Odyssial are very compatible. The idea of romantic rivalry, rather than just being added to Lealope and Odyssial's harem, is kind of unsuited to the First Age anyway (if The Rose Blossoms wins). You have people like Ma-Ha-Suchi running around, after all!

I don't recall writing anything about Odyssial's romantic preferences in that regard. Socially speaking, it was the thing to do for Celestial Exalted in the FIrst Age, so the norms would have favored it. It's not as if Lea could only have slept with Odyssial even during the Primordial War era, given her role in that war.
But I don't intend to go into much detail about stuff like this, or the First Age in general. We are skipping over thousands of years with one decision point per epoch, after all.

Pissing into the wind a bit here, but I really like the thought of a legacy from a First Age Solar who considers "making the world under his rule a genuinely good and just place to live" as a middle finger to the Age of Glories.
Of course, my inner cynic suspects that most of the Solars would have considered that outcome desirable from a personal pride sense if nothing else, but there 'tis.

Ugh, I was about to suck it up and go with Imperator, but the loss of Strategos is really hard to stomach, thinking I'll have to abstain from this one. Pity there wasn't a forever alone... King! combo.

I'm kinda surprising myself by voting for this, but I really like the idea of Odyssial being an admiral and consolidating his holdings, building something to last. It encourages Ulyssian to stay at Seacrown and play around in the vast Western Ocean, which could lead to good naval battles along with opportunities to rebuild his empire and rediscover his legend from the wreckage of the First Age. Odyssial vs. the World is a big theme for him, and his empire's the battlefield he uses to deny Creation's unpleasant truths their due. So, I'm opposing plan murderhobo. Feels weird, man.

Well, there have not been a lot of argument posts for the Wanderer, mostly just votes, so an argument is not as futile as you'd think. Plus, vote leads can always reverse in the hours to come.
Neither of these options really speak to me either, but I suppose unhappiness is the foundation of all compromises. Hopefully we can push for more extensive measures in future epochs, once all the Primordial leavings are slain and Odyssial can turn his attention to apotheosis.
