I think I'll prefer Ambition over waiting to stumble over a 5 dot Armour.
You might not have to wait for long... if you survive to get it.

Continuing to be complacent and arrogant about the capabilities and intentions of the Elder Sidereal who has completely upended the Quest will, I'm sure, not at all lead to regrettable consequences down the line. Whatever. Also it's probably going to be a damned long time before I do another write-in; no point continuing to waste my time there.

If we go try to consolidate the River Province then we have an open field in which to act. Most of the factions are not overtly hostile. Many will be welcoming and more are open to influence because holy Christ is Po17C a huge bargaining chip and instrument.
No it won't be. Ayns Syn is pretty much ensuring that we have no freedom to move around in the Realm. If we ever succeed, she will simply ship us off to another place in the Theshold, with orders to make us fail, this time.
Nope. You do know how badly beating Zao fucked her up, right? It would cripple her ability to play Hesiah.
Oh, you mean the Navy that we just spent our Predictionism on shoring up, the one that can suddenly survive without Zao?
"Why is Hesiesh trying to kill one of the greatest Champions of the Realm? That's not the lessons he passed down to us..."
And again, she can't just push the Anathema card at this point because that would destroy her own cover. As soon as she played the "Definitely a blessed Dragon Blooded" card in her Hesiesh persona, she committed herself to playing along with the charade unless she wants to destroy the Immaculate Faith, which will destroy her very ability to influence the Realm openly.
Her power over the Order all hinges on a lie, so it is by definition not absolute. Nobody is saying the option lacks risk, but Fading Away indebts us to the Infernals and picks a bunch of new fights that we really don't need on top of our existing problems. You want to take down a Deathlord that's threatening Creation? We have one available in Luseng: the Gardener.
[X] Immortal Commander
What can I say, I'm a cheapskate. Unless we can still get the discount later. Then I totally support getting Wake the Sleeper.
Guys, we do need to decide which Title to get before I can update.
I've already made my vote, and explained my reasoning why I consider Immortal Commander to be a better choice!
Well, she may be a perfectly nice woman, but her deathknights? They came to the wrong neighborhood.Hey, what'd the Gardener ever do to you!? They're a perfectly upstanding citizen of the world. One of the most inoffensive Deathlords! Haven't even been seen in over a century!
Nobody wants to let Anys shuffle us from problem to problem until we fail, but that's not a guaranteed result of accepting the posting; if we succeed in Luseng we can give Zao time to work against her within the Realm, possibly by doing something like forging an alliance with Mnemon when it becomes clear that 'Hesiesh' does not intend for Little Red for the throne.I'm with Cavalier on this. We can't let Ayn nickle and dime us to death. We have to be proactive and the first step to acting proactively is to not play her game. Play out game.
But you argued so well and so forthrightly! Truly you are a victim of your own effectiveness!I know Wake the Sleeper is ahead on votes, but most of the arguments for it are mine, which don't count. So right now we're kind of deadlocked.
But you argued so well and so forthrightly! Truly you are a victim of your own effectiveness!
Bit difficult to make already covered argumentsI want people to pick a Title because they WANT it or it sounds cool to them, not because I endorse it!
Facing Deathknights and Raksha without an ironclad immunity to their most potent mind-twisting powers is a foolhardy proposition, to put it mildly, and we'll need all the staying power we can possibly muster against a three-pronged foe. Plus, the option carries the name of Odyssial's old anima power, which just makes it seem like the most in-character thing to choose. Unceasing perpetuity of will always was his defining attribute.
Wake the Sleeper. Seems a bit dishonest to oppose Sorcery in favor of pursuing it, and then discard the option when presented; I'm mainly concerned with surviving Luseng, and Wake seems the second most likely to help us achieve that.
You can't make me! Seriously though I'm not confident in my knowledge of the nitty-gritty stuff... but if you insist:
I would also pick WtS over Immortal Commander, although I do have a question. If we use Sleeper on Zao's armor and than trade it up for the 5 dot armor that's floating around somewhere does Sleeper reset/do we get xp refunded for evocations gotten through Sleeper?
Edit: Unbreakable is still my first choice, though.
