[Exalted, ?] Most High

Well, Evocations are a key part of the Solars' skillset in 3E, and of all the Exalts they're the most gifted at coaxing excellence from their weapons. With that in mind, it seems a shame to pass up a chance at acquiring an Artifact N/A blade.

How would Lord Strategos synergize with the Social Link options? Would the highest of high command in the Solar Host really have lots of time to go on adventures with a Siddie and his waifu?

There's no penalty for taking any combination of titles and perks, as long as you have the Heartless Might to sustain all of it effectively. Lord Strategos is mostly a title relevant in the Primordial War and after the civil war eras anyway, his command is the entire Exalted Host, so when the host is not mobilized as a complete unit, his responsibilities are actually less than that of a Directional Protector, though he is of highest rank.

I suppose the same could be said about Protector of the West...

Mhm.

Rather tempted to Spinal Tap it up here, but I'm thinking there's no need to jump the gun yet, with further epochs to come. Not sure what to drop yet though...

I think that handicapping ourselves because of possible future enemies is a lamentable trend to start. Such actions are cowardly at best, and moderation is not at all in keeping with Odyssial's themes.

To be fair, you are absurdly powerful already. But not, perhaps, powerful enough to satisfy Odyssial...

That is somewhat up to you guys to decide. Canon Odyssial was Greatness 9, and while he was not satisfied with his personal might, still he knew that he was the greatest fighter the Host had produced.

[X] Protector of the West - As one of the most formidable of the Host, Odyssial was granted the mandate of a Directional Protectorate. With authority to monitor, investigate, and defend an entire Direction of Creation, his rightly paranoid self was able to install countless caches of arms, equipment, and loyalist cells throughout the archipelagos and beyond.

[X] The Conquering King - Acquiring much territory in the countless conflicts of this Era, Odyssial learned how to conquer and rule. In the millennia to follow, his peoples would want for little, and never suffer the deprivations of a triumphant aggressor, not even as a part of Odyssial's schemes.

[X] The Sword of Endings - Sepulchral Pearlescence was a spry, slight Chosen of Endings, violet of eye and black of hair, with a crooked (and knowing) grin ever present on her face. Her delicate alabaster fingers, unblemished by even a single day's hard work, were threaded through with prayer strips to the Haywain and the Sword. In her right hand she held mourning, and in her left hand she held death. She began following Odyssial in the Primordial War, to manage and observe the effects that his storm of endings sent through Fate. Later, that was made her permanent assignation, after it was determined that this was cheaper than setting up a separate sub-Bureau to handle endings of which Odyssial was the cause.

Since Lea will be the waifu regardless, I don't feel so bad only voting for the Siddie. This seems like a good spread of 'enormous kingdom with good policies in place to advance Ody's vision', which seems like it would advance Ody's personal goals nicely, together with 'wacky adventures with Ody's running crew' which sounds like fun for the voters, even if it just ends up being a bunch of amusing noodle incidents. Costs an extra point in Heartlessness, which I'm not a great fan of, but oh well.

Mm. Complacency is a disease. Until the world is but a canvas on which his will is made manifest, there is no such thing as 'powerful enough'.

[X] Lord Strategos
[X] The Rose Blossoms
[X] The Sword of Endings

This would put Odyssial heartlessness to 10 right?

I am kind of bemused that those who opted in favor of becoming the ultimate general are now neglecting the option that capitalizes on that bit of our legend. Seriously, if we pick this, we command the Exalted host in times of war. All of it. Six hundred and ninety-nine Celestials and the innumerable Dragon-Blooded beneath them, all marching in accordance with our will. That is... huge.

Nine, actually, but I like the way you think, friend!

I'm surprised Lord Strategos is not as popular. The benefits it gives are huge and it unlocks additional options later on. Do you guys really think you can resist getting 10 Heartlesness? The option is worth like, 400,000 XP.

Only to 9, you'll need one more!

This seems to fit Odyssial's goal of reforming the world, and after the titanomachy, I would think that his fury was sated, or at least partially covered.

[X] The Conquering King
Having an entire Direction be potentially loyal even into the first age is a hard to ignore resource.

[X] The Sword of Endings

Having a Sidereal of Endings assigned to one person due to the sheer destruction he creates is an amusing thing, plus a potentially Artifact n/a sword. This is a must.

Though this will bring Odyssial's heartlessness to 8. It should still be manageable.

The Lord Strategos also has... let's just call it 'operational access' to a certain geomantic nexus on the Blessed Isle.

I want that one heartlessness for Odyssial Sword.

Ok, that fucking settles it. We get access to the Sword of bloody Creation.

We also become the Chief Target for Everyone who also wants it.

Just because it "Opens up Options" doesn't mean that they're good ones. We'll have to spend an irritating amount of time mitigating the politics and whatnot that we'd get from this, and people Will be trying to seize control of it from us.

Odyssial may be beyond the other Solars, but he's not unmatchable, and if he has too much power, he's going to run into the same problem Merela did where everyone else is going to make it their mission to break him up into something more managable.

And Odyssial cannot defeat the entire world, even at Greatness 10.

We went General, so General themed I went. Except for Sid, picked that mainly because it amused me. Anyway that's 2 heartlessness spent, one... OR TWO! in the bank.

The bonuses are more than worth the hassles that Odyssial get for the position. I really don't think Odyssial would give a shit about dealing with politics if it's worth it.
