[Exalted, ?] Most High

And just as I was about to change my vote to Serenti. Bummer.
You know, this makes me wonder… have we ever seen Kejak and Fairest together at the same time?

Calling it now, guys. Chejop is the Fairest Sidereal.

Which means... That Zao is actually YOUR son! Oh sins of the father...

Anyway, while it's a real shame that Serenti lost, we now have an opportunity to consolidate what you want to flash buy while heading out. Wake the Sleeper is the obvious choice for personal power, but in either Lusang or the River Province there would be immense benefit to having some actual War charms beyond the Excellency, or in having more reliable defenses against warping and twisting techniques. Also Ambition doesn't really do body guarding except in the form of being loaned so you may want to get that bodyguard Charm.

Damn you, Cavalier! You once again have turned me away from my chosen path with your brilliant reasoning and awesome writing skills! :p

[X] Fade Away

Though I still don't regret not starting RCW, because we might have the chance of still ending this relatively bloodlessly if we play our cards right, after we spend some time collecting them all, of course. And we have already greatly benefitted from our stay at the Academy, when compared what our situation would have been if we had just run: We regained our connection to Ivory, and her loyalty. We turned Nilul, the fricking Princess of Lies, to our side with the POWER OF FRIENDSHIP. We have prevented Moon from being kidnapped, at least for now. We accumulated insane amount of shiny, shiny power. And most importantly of all, Zao is still somehow alive, and likely will be if Anys doesn't go more insane at some point.

I would say that our run in Seacrown has been a good one.

That TCS and Infallible Messenger as a Control spell. I wouldn't underestimate the potential of easy long-range communication in Creation, especially now that we will be physically and by identity separated from our allies after faking our death.

I'm really not convinced that Nilul would be safer from Infernals while murderhobo-ing around with us in the event of Fade Away, than she would be under the aegis of Zao and Ivory. Particularly given we're going to owe two Infernals a huge favor in the doing, and will be following their lead on the Fade Away plot. I'm not saying this is Nagazzer's Betrayal 2: Nuclear Fire Boogaloo, but it just seems like a weak point in the whole scheme.

She'd also probably be more useful to us in the Realm than wandering around with us as Zao's troubleshooter. She might be useful if we try to negotiate with the coalition against Thorns… except that they're a bunch of Elders (so, almost certainly more powerful than the Infernals we just met, and presumably a few of them have whatever version of Integrity charms they get) and led by Lealope, aren't they?

To say nothing of her own feelings on the matter; I rather assume that she'd prefer to be realpolitik-ing in the Realm than tagging along, sleeping rough, and being a rebel against the current order.

There're still two months till you have to tell her
There's a difference between Have To, and Is the Optimal Time to. Though, I suppose that in the immediate future Anys Syn has other priorities than turning one Ulyssian's closest friends. There's no need to do that when you're already setting the fool up to perish in a blaze of glory for the sake of the Realm.

Yeah, I don't think Nilul would be particularly useful (or happy) traipsing about the wilderness at our back. She has her domain, just as we have ours, and hers is in ballrooms and backrooms, making deals and subverting our enemies. Faking Ulyssian's death also obviates all the effort we've gone into cultivating our name and reputation, which is a tremendous waste of time and effort. Syn's existence doesn't render our identity useless. If we succeed in Luseng, the resulting legend will catapult us beyond reproach. Sesus Ulyssian, Hero of the Realm. I like the sound of that.

Ah but part of Nilul's inherited themes are FREEDOM! so she might enjoy sleeping rough and getting back to nature! /jk

Not a safe option by any stretch of the imagination, but more interesting to me than running away from the entire setup we've got going here. We wanted a territory? Well, now we have one; Satrapy was immensely popular back when it was up for consideration, and if we can win in Luseng we'll have both a fighting force possessed of ironclad loyalty to us (because honestly, fuck Hesiesh, the guy who pulled your fat out of the fire against a Deathlord, an army of the Fair, and a Lunar warlord is far more worthy of devotion) and a very prosperous dominion. Also, we took Subduer of the Wyld, so this is our chance to see the Raksha utterly lose their shit when we show up again. Two of the three individuals in question are terrified of us; the Gardener because of the Lathe and the Freehold lords because we sent them screaming back into the primordial chaos, back in the depths of prehistory. If we can leverage that terror, an impossible task becomes merely extremely daunting. Syn has calculated the measure of our capacity, but she does not know of the past deeds we can draw on.

Really, this option is just far more epic. Instead of fading away, we become more. We both build our legend and capitalize on what we've done before; it adds another chapter to the story of Sesus Ulyssian and Odyssial, instead of closing the book on the former forever.

Weren't you one of the people talking about how Nilul isn't the Ebon Dragon and her themes aren't his?

Yes because she isn't a lying backstabber like her old dad (never mind the fact that 1E/3E ED isn't the cosmic dick of 2E who'll betray you at the drop of a hat) she still obviously has SOME influence from them
Anyway, her behavior clearly illustrates her preference for decadence and tendency towards being indolent whenever it suits her.

Exactly which is why it'll be so very very amusing to see her suffer embrace asceticism and bringing her with us to find Lea means we get to see them interact with each other and work together

Are you guys sure you're ready for Luseng? Anys knows you three-shotted Polem and she's still sending you there. Those death knights are E4, and the behemoths are no joke. There is an E5 Lunar semi-elder backed by the Bull's forces as well. That is a huge concentration of powerful Exalts, way higher than almost any other hotspot in the satrapies except maybe Faxai itself.

Can we call for a parlay and offer them (the Exalts) a free ride to Anys location so they can murder 'Hesiesh' in full view of the Realm and destabilize it? Or just reveal her to be a fraud, which achieves the same goal of splintering the Realm.

How many charms do we have XP for flash-buying? 3? Is there any chance we could train some of the low hanging fruit en-route? Like a charm that RAW only requires 1 day to train?

Not really sure what War charms we would most benefit from. Tiger Warrior Training Technique is nice, but it requires a fair bit of time to use, and could we really get away with using it in a Satrapy?

Aaand this seems to be one of my swinging-vote days.

While I temporarily got stumped after Rihaku shot down my suggestions, I think I can now start working on making an omake about how to try turn the situation around. Will likely be not as epic as Cavalier's, but hopefully of an adequate quality.

Can you find Anys' location? She moves around and is only in her Hesiesh guise less than five percent of the time. And even if you could find her, a circle of E4 Solars isn't necessarily going to beat a greater than Zao level combatant. Assuming their interests lie in that direction and they believe you, of course!

We have already established that it would be less than even odds for Odyssial, Pearl and Zao to go for Anys assassination, and you want to send 2 relatively fresh Infernal on it? In a big event at that?

The trifecta, of course: War God Descendent, Ideal Battle Knowledge Prana, and Immortal Warlord's tactic.

I didn't shoot them down, I just added qualifying statements!

Honestly, I'm leaning towards Luseng, but I should probably think on it more deeply and read cavliers fanwork before I decide on anything and I probably won't have the time for that for a few hours or at all, if I decide to sleep today.

So have some idle musings that probably lead nowhere instead!

Would the Truthsaying Charms of the various DB Elders also ping the statement that the person claiming she's Hesiesh is also Mela as correct? Probably not while she's not using the appropriate Resplendent Destiny but it is a kind of amusing thought.

Is anyone else going to use this opportunity to masquerade as an Immaculate Dragon?
Odds are noone else has the resources or advantages necessary to make it believable, though who knows what the potential Gold Faction Elder that hated Pearl and may or may not still be alive is up to or what a bunch of Infernals putting their heads together for a while could accomplish.

We should totally give Flame Ambition!
His bloodline and Ambition totally make for a hilariously broken combo which is honestly rather amusing considering how much hates us.
If only he'd accept his role at our feet like a proper DB, he'd be such a useful minion. Makes me wonder if Odyssial gave Ember Ambition regularly. The fact that it would have probably driven her to burn a shitload of her lifespan may actually go a long way towards explaining why her brother hated him so much.

FUCK YOU, ANYS SYN. Fuuuuck yoooou.

Now that I've got that out of my system, fuggit, let's go with:

[X] Luseng

It's just the most interesting thing to do. Pains me not to give Ambition to Moon, but I really just want to throw Anys' plans off. Fuck her, she wants to throw us into a death trap? We'll take that shit and win. Screw her hard woman making hard decisions bullshit, we'll save the Realm with Solar power and once we're a living legend there won't be shit she can say to stop us.

Ember didn't have Flame's bloodline, no one but he and his sister do. It was a freak accident engineered by thousands of years of labor on Anys' part.

The trifecta, of course: War God Descendent, Ideal Battle Knowledge Prana, and Immortal Warlord's tactic.
Is it really necessary to flashbuy all of those?
After all, they only have a training time of one, two and four days respectively.
Couldn't time spent reviewing the situation he'll arrive and preparing strategies in while in transit be stunted as training times, perhaps with the first few clashes being used as the necessary real life experience to justify getting at least one or two of them for the regular price?
