Well, I assume that every time we interact with Ivory we can have some effect on our relationship, but this is a greater turning point than most. She will likely be friendly to us no matter what, barring drastic events; the same cannot be said of the Dynastic heads.

That was one of the more hilarious things I've read in a while. :D

Anyway, voting for moving to ensure that we get Sad Ivory as an ally and can define that alliance in the best terms we can. With the fiction of us being a DB quite well established, I'm willing to pass up the chance for better relationship with our family (for now), and an awesome sword. But mostly because I want to see more Uly's and Ivory's interactions again. They were quite amusing in the previous quest.

Character generation is classically known as the time to dip into non-Favored fields for relatively cheap. Are there any fields you may wish to dip into? Examples include:

*Presence - Socially interact with people!
*Bureaucracy - All forms of logistics and administration!
*Investigation - Be Batman!
 
Well, all three would be useful for the playing politics.

Presence makes it easier for us to convince others to our point of view, investigation gives us dirt with which we can dig up more information on others, while bureaucracy makes any organizations we lead more effective. I'm more partial to investigation as that is the least obvious one.

Yes, the main issue is that Exalted rewards specialization, so you shouldn't necessarily try to invest too much in everything. Figure out what you want to be good at and focus on it so that you can blow out all the other specialists in your field, and leave the fields you're not strong in to the people who are invested in them. At least, while you're working with finite XP totals.

We need to straighten out our head. Really need to straighten out our head. It's going to be more difficult to move forward or make plans if we don't review memories.

I've seen people mention that they want to make moon shogun by using our access as lord strategos to the sword of creation. But does uly even know that the lord strategos had access or where it is? It wasn't in any of the prelude snippets, so maybe not.

Now that we know our relationship with ivory remains strong no matter what, i'm less concerned about that. I'm sure whatever conclusion ivory comes to about our relationship will be amusing.

[X] Investigation

No matter what we're going to have a lot of searching to do. Whether it be searching for lealope, discovering any first age resources we left for ourselves, or digging up dirt on our detractors and information gathering is going to be a big part of that.

I thought we took that exp to make sure Ivory would support and remember us?
Taking time ourselves is a higher priority - getting our memories up to sync, boosting every action after doing so, we'll have a much better understanding about everything, including our past relationship with Ivory's secret identity or what not. As for our family....meh. Still not as useful as taking the time now to sync up our memories and getting trump sword.

Hmm... Ulyssian's bullshit detector has historically been rather strong, and has been known to overturn entire arcs (Geminith, anyone?), so I'd say there's a strong argument for investigation there. Presence as well, depending on how much of Odyssial's 'terrifying people' skills he's absorbed. Still, I'd probably shore up melee and make sure his combat/integrity are intact before branching out too much.

But we aren't. Yet. That's an issue. The Exaltation took place back when Moon is merely his closest friend and Ulyssian is completely oblivious to her feelings.

Ivory could very well decide that Moon's crush is no obstacle to what she would see as a multi milennia love.
