Ethereal Whims, an X-COM x Star Wars Quest

That's the case if we are meeting with Palpatine on the surface level. Though not as Palpatine being a sith. Unless we are able to use the force, or have a feel of it but simply keep the psionic abilities it would be possible, that our MC can see through Palpatine's well built disguise and see him as a dark side force user, though our MC hasn't even learned about the Sith fully yet and their history on Dromund Kaas.

Year 1, Month 7
Explore the City (Rolled D20, 20, BREAKTHROUGH) (Ok seriously what is going on here) [7/?]

A larger team of Vipers, Mutons, Andromedons and Sectoids were sent back into the 'City Center' as you'd taken to calling it, scouring each and every one of the rooms they'd previously rushed through to secure anything and everything that had been of slightest interest. In that task, they uncovered a safe hidden under a carpet in a particularly opulent office, one that was no match for the Andromedon that tore it out of the floor and ripped the door off of it, revealing it's interior to be some sort of information storage device shaped like a slab, a small circular thing, and a knife that, to your senses, felt the same as the longsword.

The device was unlocked quickly, its secrets yours to peruse. It was revealed to be the personal journal of one 'Darth Thanaton', though you are unsure if Darth is a name or a title as of yet. It had some fairly damning information on rivals long dead, alongside plots against a 'Republic' and 'Jedi'. Presumably the enemies that drove his kind to extinction. The circular device was apparently for real-time communications across fairly vast distances, though there didn't seem to be anything active on the other end of the connection. The knife, though…

'Psionically(?) Active Knife' and 'Psionically(?) Active Longsword' combined into Research Option: Psionically Active(?) Melee Weapons

Search for the Dark Temple (Rolled D20, 9, no effect) [1/?]

Thanks to your subservient's work within Kaas City, you knew the general direction that the Dark Temple could be found in, alongside ample warning from translated texts of the maddened spirits and abominations that prowled the grounds. While you are dubious of the claims of the restless dead, you are unwilling to rush the work of locating it by sending faster, but more isolated, squads out into the jungle to die by psionically enhanced abominations.

Accelerated Hybrid Production (Rolled D20, 6, no effect) [3/3]

You've finally found a way to accelerate the growth of Hybrids without compromising their stability or lifespan, a welcome boon seeing as you require both plentiful and healthy subordinates.

(Production on all units sped up by a turn)

Build Psionic Relay on Ship (Rolled D20, 12, no effect) [⅓]

The beginnings of the Relay are going well, though you have had to keep the majority of the Sectoids back on the ship to aid in atuning it to the correct psionic frequencies as it develops.

Build Officer Training School (Final Slot) (Rolled D20, 1 + 5 (Assassin), 6, no effect) [⅓]

It was by fortune alone that your child noticed the instability in the ground that the Officer Training School was built upon, one that would have led to the collapse of the facility as it was half-way built and, with the aid of Vipers in tight tunnels, reinforced the earth beneath.

You feel as though real progress is finally being made in your excavation and study of this strange world. On the dawning day of the new month, you settle in to meditate and plan

ACTIONS: PICK TWO

[ ] Explore the Kaas City (The rotting carcass of a once-mighty city, who knows what manner of secrets might be hidden within and beneath) [7/?]

[ ] Search for the Dark Temple (The Sith might be gone, but their Psionic Secrets remain. You believe that the effort to uncover them will be well-spent) [1/?]

RESEARCH: PICK ONE

[ ] Extract the genetic code of the Pureblood Sith (Another psionically active Hybrid species under your control could only be a boon, though there might be… teething issues if the aggression that the presence recalled was any indication) [0/4]

[ ] Analyze the local Flora and Fauna (The plants and animals are… unnatural, whether through the interference of Psionics or gene editing, and you are eager to learn which) [0/3]

[ ] Study the bodies of the Megafauna: Felidae Kaasias that your Mutons and Vipers failed to tear to pieces (Their strength was disproportionate for their size, and their bodies were incredibly durable. Perhaps you could create a new breed of Hybrid Subservients from the genetic code) [0/4]

[ ] Examine the Pyramid (The essence it gives off reminds you strongly of psionic energy, but something is… off. This requires intensive study) [0/5]

[ ] Examine the Weapons(However these things were created, it was through incredible suffering. With another sample to work with, it should be easier to decipher their makeup and construction.) [1/4]

[ ] Reverse Engineer Intact Ship (It was fortune beyond imagining that led to the recovery of an intact vessel, and the process of reverse engineering it should go by quickly) [0/2]

CONSTRUCTION: PICK TWO

[ ] Build a facility within the ship (With the beginnings of construction on the facility, you are locked in to your choice. Shipside facilities cannot be easily removed.)
=[X]= Psionic Relay Facility(Required to communicate with your subservients over galactic distances) [1/3]

[ ] Build a facility in the cleared area [3 out of 4 slots full]
-[ ] Psionic Relay Facility (Required to communicate with your subservients over galactic distances) [0/3]
-[ ] Officer Training Facility (Required to unlock 'Elite' variants of units and produce Hero Units.) [1/3]
-[ ] Sanctum of Silence (A personal facility for the Assassin to hone her skills and delve further into her psionic gifts, required to unlock more abilities for her.) [0/5]

HERO ACTIONS: THE ASSASSIN

(Unless the Action Specifies otherwise, the Assassin will take with her a small squad of subservients.)

[ ] Assign her to an Action
-[ ]

HYBRID PRODUCTION

=[X]= Viper (Useful for squeezing into small spaces and surprisingly durable, good for ambushes and low-to-mid quality espionage. Enough brainpower to help with research, each batch takes half a turn off of research time) [½]

[ ] Muton [0/2] (Very muscular and with good instincts for battlefield tactics, these are your shock-troopers and heavy construction workers. Each batch made reduces construction times by half a turn)

[ ] Archon [0/2] (Flight capable and with heavy onboard weapons systems, these cyborgs are ideal scouts and airborne supremacy units. No special bonuses at this time)

[ ] Sectoid [0/2] (Psionically active and constantly in contact with your own mind, Sectoids are ideal for relaying important information back to you and keeping the minds of subordinate squads connected for real-time tactical cooperation. Enough brainpower to help with research, each batch takes half a turn off of research time)

[ ] Andromedon [0/2] (Heavily modified off of the base Sectoid form, Andromedons require an acidic compound to survive but are, in exchange, the best pilots and front-line warriors available thanks to the direct neural connection they have to the machinery they pilot. Each batch made reduces construction times by half a turn)

[ ] ADVENT Hybrid [0/2] (Modified off of base-strain humans, ADVENT Hybrids are generalists that can be suited for a wide variety of roles, at the cost of the physical superiority of some of your other subordinates. Each batch made reduces construction times by half a turn. Enough brainpower to help with research, each batch takes half a turn off of research time.)

=[X]= means that the choice has been locked in.

The Assassin is not a researcher i think

[X] plan: new weapons

This one seems to be in most of what I am thinking, as we need to simply apply our hero's strengths and once we finish the vipers and the training facility. We are going to have the officer training facility train a sectoid to be a hero or a hybrid to be a hero, so we can have one focus on research, while the assassin focus on her stealth and scouting abilities.

Ships are more important, weapons don't mean that much as long as we have no contact with the outside world

[X] Plan: New FTL.

Edit: The assassin flew the ship from the spaceport to our base after a short inspection, she will definitely be of help to understand how it is constructed

And what will we use spaceships for? right now we doon't even have enough people to be safe in the world we are in, the weapons, the holocron at least can prepare us for what may lie in the dark temple.

So first research those and then the spaceship, while also creating Hybrids who are focused on science, to have more research done, i would wait to study the ship until we are ready to build a spaceport

We can easily reverse engineer the ship and it's hyperdrive after doing some research, as we can research how the warblades work, and learn some aspects of the force since we haven't learned much about the force with our MC. And I am not interested in the Sith holocron just yet, as that could be one of the lures to the Darkside if we are not careful or are reckless in trying to open it.

I like the idea of cloning the Sith hybrids. We'll need some form of locals so as to better adjust to the GFFA anyway.
[X] Plan: New weapons

Once we have a better understanding on the force, and know how to deal with the Darkside on Dromund kaas then we can consider having Sith pureblood hybrids.

@HelereTheAce would our Sith Pureblood hybrids be different from their progenitor species of sith purebloods if we were to research how to create them?

Yes, in that they would be bound to your will like all of the other hybrids you create, though they'll likely be more... willful than your other subservients, they, like all of the others, will be loyal. (Corruption mechanics will not be implemented yet. Sith Purebloods will have a bit more free will and initiative than all but the Assassin and ADVENT Hybrid Heroes.)

Oooh good to know. I got the feeling that they would make for good spec ops and hero units, once we learn to a certain extent on how the force works, and how to counter the Darkside influence of Dromund kaas then we will have to create them.

To get some discussion on which research we should do, i have here a proposed order for them.

My first priority would be the force related items, we are on a world bathed in the Dark side, the faster we understand the threat the better.

Second priority is to study the fauna, after all if this world is to be our Capital, we need to learn as much as we can.

Finally the ship and the sith gene, i put priority on the ship because we already have enough variance of servants.

Tell your opinions so we can discuss them, that said Good night, see you tomorrow

You have my support my friend!

@HelereTheAce if you don't mind me asking, would we be able to gain full dominion of Dromund kaas once we fully explored all possible locations, like after we finish exploring the Kaas city and the Dark temple would we have claim over them as a faction. Or would we need to meet certain criteria to be even certified to be a seperate faction rather then a group?
