Earth Bet: House of the Sun (Cultist Simulator/Worm)

I just strongly doubt that Witherbrine26 will leave us without awards or will not warn us that research is useless.
Why would he? It's not like how many Woods locations are left is something we know or can infer in-character. It's only something we can guess at OOC because this quest is based on the mechanics of Bird's quest.

I've been familiar with Witherbrine26 quests for quite some time, and he don't give you options that are a waste of time.

Actually maybe we should spend an AP looking for an expedition. We really need more Lore sources, and buying artifacts isn't really feasible with our income. Especially since we have AotL now, so we can double the application bonus.

Turn 6 - Results, Part 4 New
The past few nights had been difficult. Sleep was elusive, and you refused to resort to medication, ignoring the simple fact that even the most potent pills were hard-pressed to affect you. Your stomach throbbed with a dull ache that radiated from your bones, a reminder of the trials you had endured. It was a strange sort of weariness, one that lingered long after the real danger had passed. You hadn't returned to the Mansus, nor had you dared to venture back into the Woods since the back-to-back incidents. Yet, despite the creeping exhaustion, sitting idly in your church was not an option.

You had faced horrors before. Shaken them off, or at least buried them deep enough to function. Now, there were more pressing matters—Lady Mylissa had called a meeting of the inner circle, and it wasn't something you could afford to miss. It felt odd, sometimes, referring to them as the "inner circle." After all, nearly a third of Stafford's population was part of the cult, even if most remained unaware of the full extent of their involvement. Walking down the street, you would often catch a glimpse of a familiar face—someone you'd seen at Lady Mylissa's manor, performing one task or another, all wrapped in the comforting normalcy of small-town life.

You chuckled at the thought as you drove through the countryside. The icy December air had frozen the roads, leaving a thin, treacherous layer of ice that glistened under the pale winter sun. The wind was bitter, cutting through the trees like a knife, but at least there was no heavy snowfall. You had already canceled one meeting due to a storm, much to Lady Mylissa's irritation. For reasons she never fully explained, she refused to leave her manor, even for important matters. So, braving the cold was necessary if you wanted to attend these gatherings.

Pulling up to the familiar driveway, you parked the car and stepped out, immediately feeling the icy grip of winter underfoot. You nearly slipped, catching yourself on the car door just in time. A wry smile tugged at your lips as you straightened up, pulling your coat tighter around your shoulders. Sparse snowflakes drifted down from the sky, glittering in the muted afternoon light.

The path leading up to the manor had been carefully salted, ensuring safe passage, though the same courtesy hadn't been extended to the streets surrounding the estate. Likely Ava's decision. You approached the large, heavy door, rapping the brass knocker sharply. A moment later, the door creaked open, revealing someone unfamiliar.

"Can I help you, sir?" The young woman who greeted you tilted her head slightly, her curiosity plain in the way her eyes widened. She appeared to be in her mid-twenties, dressed in the same formal attire as Ava, which marked her as one of Lady Mylissa's servants.

"I'm Emir, here for a meeting," you replied, offering a polite smile. At the sound of your name, the woman's expression brightened, though her bow was a little clumsy—new, no doubt, but well-meaning.

"Of course, please follow me," she said, leading you inside. You noticed that she took a wrong turn once or twice, clearly unfamiliar with the manor's labyrinthine hallways, but her enthusiasm was endearing. You said nothing, opting instead to quietly observe the surroundings as you walked.

Despite the creeping chill outside, the interior of the manor remained remarkably warm. The halls, though slightly cooler than in the warmer months, were still comfortable, and the scent of flowers lingered faintly in the air. What truly caught your attention were the plants themselves—lush and blooming as though it were the height of summer rather than the dead of winter. The faux honeycomb structures embedded in the walls buzzed with activity, the bees inside moving sluggishly, weighed down by the cold but still tending to the ever-blooming flora. It was an impressive feat of upkeep, particularly for a manor so isolated in the countryside.

Eventually, you arrived at the conservatory, the young maid seeming slightly embarrassed by the delays but not voicing it. You simply gave a nod of acknowledgment, stepping inside the familiar space. The warmth hit you immediately, a sharp contrast to the biting cold outside and the faint cool of the manor itself. The air was thick with the scent of flowers, and the sound of bees hummed around you, fat with pollen.

Lady Mylissa sat at the center of it all, a serene figure with a teacup in hand. Ava stood dutifully behind her, ever the silent servant, while Delilah lounged in a chair to the side, her usual air of casual defiance on full display. The contrast between Ava's rigid formality and Delilah's lazy nonchalance never failed to surprise you, yet both women served Lady Mylissa with loyalty. In the end, that was all that mattered.

"Good evening, Emir," Lady Mylissa greeted you with a graceful incline of her head, her voice soft and measured. You returned the gesture, mimicking her poise as you took your seat.

"Good evening, Lady Mylissa. Ava, Delilah," you added, nodding to each of them in turn. Ava acknowledged you with a slight bow, as polite as ever, while Delilah's response was little more than a flicker of her eyes in your direction, a subtle, almost lazy acknowledgment.

You reached for the teacup set before you, savoring the brief silence as you took a sip. The warm liquid soothed the lingering chill in your bones. There was time yet before the meeting would properly begin, and you used those moments to collect your thoughts. You had much to report, and it was best to ensure you were prepared.

You must pick at least one from each section. If you pick nothing to report, you will not mention it. Vote by Plan

@Witherbrine26 Will we also report on the Attention of the Laws if we report the Calling of Influence? (edit: also is our Cadre something reportable or it is noticeable enough on its own that there's no need?)

@H2F2 you've got one too many dashes on the Damsel line

Attention of the Laws has already been spread. It's something fairly simple so when the person you recruited to help you told somebody about it they told somebody else and so on. Calling of Influence on the other is harder and as such he couldn't blab.

The Cadre is already known, just like how Emir noticed the amount of new recruits. You can mention it but that's more being clear that you recruited them.

@Witherbrine26 Shouldn't we still have the opportunity to announce that we have recruited our entire congregation, or since everyone already knows about it, it doesn't require a separate mention?

Oh, a multitude of decisions. I honestly just want to tell Lady Mylissa everything.

This is without explicitly saying we want to know about them. She will likely tell us about them anyway, if only to warn us to stay clear.

it may be a bit early to ask about the worms, but we shook off Dread this time, if narrowly.

I don't really think "You want to know what those things are" is us demanding anything? It's just... a statement of interest?

"Lady Mylissa, I saw something real weird in the Mansus this month. What in the world is it?"

My wariness isn't so much because it is demanding but because even knowing about the Worms tends to be... unpleasant.

Fair enough reason not to ask, I'm mostly just commenting on the plan's name, since it seems to imply to me that it's not asking about the Worms because we're afraid of angering Mylissa by being too demanding somehow rather than going the ignorance is bliss (for now) route.

I just noticed now, but it seems that the influence of Secret Histories does not exist. So we won't be able to get a level 2-3 influence to significantly improve the artifact search result.
