A Christian Priest becoming a Lore Expert for a Cult dedicated to a 'Pagan God' would be hilarious! Especially if he or she managed to somehow maintain their own beliefs. Oh that'd be amazing... Especially in a Knock Cult where we specialize in summoning things. Grail and Knock- the Masters of the nine Lores by PRT classification!

I mean, the Nazarene Messiah is a Name of the Mother of Ants.

I want to point out that this was not necessarily true, this is just one of the non-canonical gospels and it is quite possible this interpretation of the author of the text.
But there are really a lot of coincidences, ranging from the sacralization of stigmata to common motives. For example, in Rite of the Mother's Mercy, you have to sacrifice your assistant, but because of her mercy, the Mother of ants heals him and accepts a symbolic sacrifice in return. Ending with the fact that at the moment of elevation, having accepted seven wounds, the priest sacrifices himself, becoming the gateway to eternal life for his flock.
In general, there are really a lot of coincidences so that you can dismiss them with a clear conscience.

Knock does provide a variety of interesting opportunities. Book of Hours elaborates on the principle by folding in the discovery and creation of passages, both in terms of unlocking physical doorways but also in terms of creating portals. Knock also seems to be closely tied to clockwork and the creation of other such intricate mechanisms, perhaps allowing just a little bit more "room" for something that otherwise wouldn't quite fit in reality.

Could you tell me where you got this information from? To be honest, this is the first time I've heard such an interpretation and it would be interesting to see it.

In Book of Hours one of the Knock skills you can pick up is Lockworks & Clockworks, which is primarily Knock but also has Sky as its secondary principle. Sky of course being the principle that deals with "Wind, storm, echo, song; the intricacies of mathematics and the principles of flight."

It would be very much a thing of Knock to build, for example, a clockwork device designed to calculate/define/detect places where the world is thin and open a gateway to elsewhere. A device that somehow invested several cubic yards of Invar and more exotic materials into a dense mass of ever-finer gearworks that fit neatly inside a handheld casing the size of a pocket-watch.

It is advised that the user never think about where the weight went...

Braiding the Threads: What Next? New
Legacies

[] The Foe
"It's done, after all those years he's finally dead"
-You will play as Alicja, a person skilled in Martial and Intrigue with a knack for Edge and Forge.
-You are a violent criminal and have an investigation looking into you.
-You have no steady form of income, although you do have 8 actions to start with.
-Michael was involved with people, they may try and take their pound of flesh.

[] The Herald
"What have Ye done?"
You will play as Anatoly, a barkeep skilled in Stewardship and Piety with a knack for Winter.
-You are prone to dread, although have experience managing it.
-Your income heavily varies from turn to turn depending on how many actions you invest into your bar.
-You have been marked.

[] The Aspirant
"June 28th, again"
-You will be playing as a new character, starting from Backgrounds and Beginnings
-The broad lore and similar things will be kept the same, however things will change based on your choices. Such as the cult Master and location you start.
-Everything else will massively depend on what choices you make.

After some thoughts (and literally sleeping on it) I've decided to offer three options, the ones I think are the most interesting. The first is taking over Alicja right after she kills Michael. The second is taking over Anatoly shortly after Michael's death. The last being a completely new character as if Michael didn't happen.

This vote will likely be kept open for a few days so that everybody can give their opinions on what they want. If you have any question about the choices or are willing to suggest something go ahead!

I just don't like neither of the other options much.
...Though I would try to keep with the tally and move the vote to The Foe if it will be it vs The Herald.

Ah, we continue onwards then. Wonderful, I'm glad the run of ill rolls hasn't dampened your enthusiasm.

Let's see... Well I'm not inclined to go with the Foe, call me petty but I'm not feeling particularly charitable towards that thorn of ours.

Anatoly is interesting, but I feel there may not be very much room for expression considering the Master literally lives in the room over our heads. On the other hand it could be funny to see her try and adapt to the Cult's combat expert and best source of information on the Endbringers just randomly dying to sheer unadulterated bad luck.

Finally, a clean slate, we could examine all this Knock consideration we've got knocking around. That'd probably be my main inclination right now.

I'm frankly not surprised Micheal died as we tried to kill a rival without sufficient preparation.
One thing that should be noted in cultist simulator is that rivals are never easy to just get rid of without prep.

Honestly, the master and wolf stuff is really interesting to me. Since it might get changed with an aspirant, I'd want to pick Heralad, so we can see more of the anti-endbringer cult

1. NO WONDER SHE WAS BEATING US AND GETTING SO MANY GUYS- 8 actions per turn??? How do you even fight that???
2. This is fascinating insight into how she overcame us, and exactly how draining our job is on us.
3. I don't want to do Alicja, as awesome as it would be.

I would love to play as Anatoly- gonna need SOMEONE to comfort Arch once he realizes his friend died during a Wolf/Winter/Edge Ritual involving the Master. Having his one friend ripped away so cruelly will likely shatter him to some degree. However... starting anew with a new character would also be really cool. I'd prefer The Aspirant, personally.
