Dungeon Crawler You!

I'll need to think more before voting, but one thing jumped out at me. Who did Drew kill for money?
Calliope said "let's backstab these toves to unlock a thief class" and Taylor said "better yet, I'll pay you to do it so that we can unlock a professional assassin class." Lo and behold.
Everyone killed a tove for money

Hm.

It's worth noting, getting the manager benefit *probably* means we'll keep access to that button, which means +8 hours of killing a day. That's an effective 33% increase in XP.

Skill: Contract Killer
The system AI has placed open contracts on every being on the floor. You may accept the contract for any being so long as that being is currently conscious and at 100% health. If you kill a being for whom you hold the contract, you will receive the following:

  • XP awarded will be increased by ((Skill Level) x 2)%
  • Gold equal to ((10 + (their level - your level))^2.25) * (Skill Level), round down
Contracts against crawlers are worth 5x as much, both in terms of XP and gold.

You may not leave the floor while one of your contracted enemies is alive. You may not cancel a contract.
Every BEING on the floor.
Mobs are beings.
For equal levels and the starting out skill level of 5 that comes out to 10^2.25*5 =177.82794100389228 * 5=889.1397050194614 ~~ 889g

So:
  1. find mobs at equal level.
  2. Take contract.
  3. Medic Student puts them to sleep.
  4. Contract Killer kills them
    1. "spread fuel over them and light it on fire" should not wake them up unless you hit their head and they choke, due to the burning pain being ignored by pain immunity.
    2. an "Advanced Backstab" + "In my Sights" double whamy.
With
Unless I'm terrible at math, the starting interest on the Medical Debt would be 378gp. From then on, just to remain stable you need to pay off around 7500gp every 30 hours, plus the 378gp of interest.
that means we need to to do 7500+378=7878 per 30h
7878/889=8.86164229471316~~9
9 mobs at equal level per 30h to remain stable. With the risk of the mob escaping screwing you over MAJORLY.
Still.
Imho Hitman is a must for Caliope.

Skill: Advanced Backstab
Damage is increased by 250% per level if you attack from behind without the target being aware of you. There is also a small chance of a critical strike which will multiply your total damage by (Skill Level) on top of other bonuses.

Skill: In My Sights
If you can keep your eyes on a being for 1 minute before entering combat, you may place a 'Sighted In' mark on that being. Your damage against a creature with that mark is increased by 200% per level. Sighted In marks fade if you lose sight of the marked being for 1 minute.

Calliope said "let's backstab these toves to unlock a thief class" and Taylor said "better yet, I'll pay you to do it so that we can unlock a professional assassin class." Lo and behold.

Omg. Best words he ever said.

@eaglejarl
If no requirements are listed for a class, can everyone get it?

[X] Class: Medical Student
[X] Class: Relentless Justicar
[X] Class: Republican Senator

Oh my god these are all too good.

I don't think we can take wizard supremacist. That downside on environmentally protective clothes is suuuper harsh

  • Former Child Actor: Grants Manager, so people will want it. Otherwise, seems terrible.
Skill: Fortuna's Favored Child
...
The bonus/malus is dependent on your skill level and your Charisma.
  • +10 Charisma
  • +15% faster growth in all Charisma-based skills
You have a chance of surviving an otherwise fatal attack. At level 5 you are guaranteed one free lethal hit per fight, though you will be at 5% health afterward. At level 10, your health will not go down at all after the first fatal strike. The only way to train this skill is by using it.
For each actionable of that class (i.e. skill, spell, benefit, stat boost, etc), there is a chance based on your level of Character Actor that you will receive that actionable.
It actually stacks quite well with Fortuna's Favored Child.

  • Battle Klepto: Okay, so it levels faster. That's nice. On the other hand, it doesn't grant amazing bonuses, it seems useless against foes that doesn't use equipment, and the stats aren't amazing either.

It can steal items from other crawlers though, in canon Quan has a celestial robe and it's powerful enough to get him into the top crawlers. He's also a jerk so stealing from him wouldn't be that bad. And stealing from npcs could be pretty pivotal as it goes on, could maybe simulate laundry day spell.

  • Democratic Senator: This is funny, but it's also money-dependent, doesn't seem amazing in combat, and a bit too on-the-nose.

The gold isn't as bad as it looks as the excess tax just goes to Drew and he could redistribute it out afterwards.

  • Former Child Actor: Grants Manager, so people will want it. Otherwise, seems terrible.

So the big thing here is that in canon you get the random Class and luck gives you a # of that classes abilities (so Drew's race should help). But
any of them you raise high enough (I think to level 5) you get to keep permanently. Gives it insane long term potential if you can get lucky and stay alive.
  • Relentless Justiciar: Can raise allies from the dead. Oh, and there's other good abilities too.
This is really really good. Determinator makes it so if we make Drew leader the entire party doesn't have to eat or sleep (unless there's some kind of psychological disadvantage to not doing so) which means more time to kill kill kill. And you get the number of skulls the crawler had so finding the right crawler can get you like 17 skulls. There's no cd or limit on the self rez besides the number of badges, meaning Drew with like 20 Badges is going to be close to unkillable, I guess some situations will just zero out badges though like a powerful dot.

Less powerful as the crawl goes on. Desperado killing loses its surprise, less crawlers to farm. Food gives more bonuses and beds give bonuses and require less sleep.

[X] Medical Student
with a Hitman in the team the debt shouldn't be that bad if we can find equal (or higher) leveled mobs.

Edit: Wonder if there is an achievment for being first to pay back the student debt.

They are indeed.

The list will be different for each person but there will be a fair bit of overlap. In other words, probably but not definitely.

It's only specialized clothing. Motorcycle leathers, hazmat suit, or heavy parka would all fit in that category but a light jacket or sweater would not. You'd likely want to find a spell that regulates temperature.

Determinator makes it so if we make Drew leader the entire party doesn't have to eat or sleep (unless there's some kind of psychological disadvantage to not doing so) which means more time to kill kill kill.
Unfortunately, party leader is always the person with the highest base stat total. In other words, Taylor cannot transfer the leadership until Drew outstrips him on stats.

Unless we have a golden goose (Drew won't be, since he got the Luck Race), Medical student doesn't seem worth it. I'd rather not force that role onto Leo or Taylor.

Same for classes with requirements?
So the oth
<edit>
where did the rest of the sentence go?
Anyway: So the others might have hitman but might also not?

If we have a hitman in the group that does the killing strike that is 9 equal leveled mobs per 30 hours. (After 150h grace period)
No "golden goose" race needed. And good synergy with Medic student.
  1. find mob(s)
  2. take contract(s) for mob(s)
  3. Spell: Anesthesia them (including sleep)
  4. have Hitman kill them
  5. go to (1)
This is kinda "where is the trap" levels of good.

Changed my vote, luck and this class have too much of a synergy to pass on. Plus it's entertaining which draw viewers.

[X] Vegas Strip Magician

A skill that interact with luck and a spell that combo with his smoke spell! Sign me up.

Is it just me, or is "Local-Access TV Psychic" Something Taylor could have gotten, actually for all we know Taylor will get something with the silver tongue skill. (Remember that time we tricked someone to drink piss, good times.)
Also, as an additional question, does the hitman themselves have to kill the target or would it work for whoever is in the party.

I have no idea what class he should get.

I am against the Medical Student class because constantly worrying about money is a pain. Even if it attracts an audience.

Hitman Drew... What gives?

By the way, there was a very small retcon. It happened quite early, but I'll announce it just in case anyone read the classes when they first came out and did not go back.

The Textile Worker's Skill: Thread Rectification straightens threads with an equivalent Strength of (Skill Level) x 50, not 15.

I don't think it's a bad as people think, it's supposed to solve problems with magic and gets 2 spellbooks a floor and there's other ways to get them. There will be spells that help protect from stuff like that, we just have to make sure we try and find them.

After seeing how good wizard supremacist is I want to take Primal on one of the other two, no restrictions over 1 trillion views and pretty high levels means we should see some classes that are pretty much not supposed available to be picked otherwise.

Stacking fortune effects is good, this class also runs faster and heals but not based on stats letting it stat for combat.
[] Combat Medic
Smoke + Translocate is a good combo, lots of good stuff here.
[] Vegas Strip Magician
Obviously good, dont think the downsides are too bad. Gold option means we could take an OP class like Med Student on someone else and drastically lower the potential downside. I would want to take at least one spellbook option since Invuln is called out and must be good.
[] Wizard Supremacist
Really good class and can buff Moose's dex I think. Gold needs to be managed early on but seems doable.
Edit: Nevermind the numbers seem pretty rough actually.
[] Medical Student
Really good class and gets the Manager benefit out of the way so Leo and Taylor have more freedom.
[X] Former Child Actor

Edit: Decided I'm most interested in building a class with the luck bonus.

You can seemingly mitigate a lot of the problems of this class with efficient use of the spells.
[X] Vegas Strip Magician
Who doesn't like pulling out the rabbit of caerbannog when you end up in combat?
[X] Former Child Actor
Having a manager is pretty great, not gonna lie, but we'll this might also piss off Levi. (depending entirely on his disposition towards the end of his tutorial work.)
[X] Local-Access TV Psychic
honestly not sure if this is the best choice for Drew, might be a good choice for Taylor but we'll see what he gets later.
Eh, I'll put down my votes here and now.
